    Wonderful service

Before staying here, I didn’t have very high expectations, but our stay with a toddler (1 year and 2 months old) was extremely satisfying. All necessary baby items were provided, and they even supplied diapers as a complimentary service. Protective padding was properly applied to table corners and other areas, and even items like remote controls were individually sealed in antibacterial film—thoughtful details that made us feel safe and comfortable. At first I wondered if the Room might be a bit small, but there was no wasted space; the futon area (raised platform), living area, and the open-air bath flowed seamlessly together. Because you can see into the Room while bathing, I could relax in the bath while keeping an eye on my sleeping child. The highlight of any trip is the food, and both dinner and breakfast were served in-room. Everything was delicious. Unlike many Ryokan breakfasts that are unnecessarily large and end up getting cold, this one was served warm with delicate flavors—we were truly satisfied. They also prepared child-friendly options such as softly cooked rice and a lightly seasoned clear soup. The meals were not only delicious but also reassuring for our child, so both parent and child could enjoy them comfortably. Our daughter doesn’t eat packaged toddler meals, but we could take items from the adult dishes—like grilled fish or simmered foods—briefly rinsed in hot water before serving her. We really appreciated being able to travel almost empty-handed because of that. Of course we would love to return. I suspect many guests will become repeat visitors too—so it might get harder to make a Reservation! Highly recommended.

There are several points of concern...

I usually don't post reviews, but this time I decided to share my thoughts as there was a significant gap between the reviews I read beforehand and my actual experience during the stay. Positive points: - As a "Welcome Baby" accommodation, they provided all necessary items, and the cleanliness was excellent, allowing us to stay with peace of mind. - A wide variety of decaffeinated drinks were available, which was a nice touch. - The 24-hour access to the open-air onsen made it convenient to enjoy at any time. Points of concern: I expected quality matching the price but found that overall it felt closer to a guesthouse than a ryokan in terms of quality. While there are too many small issues to list (especially regarding service and hospitality), here are some examples: - The scent from fabric softener used for in-room wear was overwhelmingly strong. Even as adults, we found it unpleasant; considering it's marketed as "Welcome Baby," fragrance-free options might be better. - Meals were average at best; however, dinner portions were particularly small and unsatisfying (both my husband and I could have eaten 1.5–2 times more). - Baby food was served simultaneously with adult meals, leaving us confused about how others managed this situation (we had no choice but to quickly feed our baby first while delaying eating our own meals). - Poor service quality... conversations often didn’t flow properly (though likely unintentional), which stood out most for me. - For instance, when we accidentally spilled broth on the tray table and apologized ("Sorry for spilling"), expecting assistance or at least cleaning supplies since no wet towels had been provided earlier—this itself being an issue—the response we received was simply "That spills easily," without any effort made to clean up. Consequently, several dishes were served on trays still noticeably wet from spilled broth. - Additionally surprising experiences included receiving another guest's name instead of ours on breakfast menus. The next day we visited another ryokan within the same price range for day-use onsen and lunch services—and everything there exceeded expectations compared with this accommodation—leaving us wishing we'd stayed there instead. It feels like you're paying solely for not having to prepare luggage due to their "Welcome Baby" offerings rather than receiving value across other aspects of your stay.

    The food is delicious.

There are stairs up to the entrance, and all the rooms are on the second floor, so be aware that your luggage may not be carried for you. We had a lot of luggage, including multiple suitcases, and on the way back, we had to carry most of it ourselves. It was a bit tough since we had two toddlers with us. (They only helped with the stroller.) This might be due to a shortage of staff. Also, be careful as the road in front of the building is sloped, so suitcases might roll away. The staff were not particularly friendly. The room and the private open-air bath were average and felt somewhat dated. The mat in the indoor bath was very dirty, so we didn't use it when washing the baby and instead washed them on our lap while sitting on a chair. However, the food was extremely delicious, which was quite surprising given the overall experience. The sake was also tasty.
