    A Hotel with an Excellent Location and Comfort in Every Detail

    The location is simply outstanding. From anywhere on the property, I could see Mt. Bandai beyond Yairoku Pond, and I was moved again and again. In addition, the service, dinner and breakfast, open-air bath, cleanliness, and the lounge’s ease of use were all excellent and comfortable. I’m glad I chose Urabandai Kogen Hotel for my commemorative trip. The nature that changes with each season must be wonderful as well, so next time I’d love to visit in a different season. Thank you very much.

    For your wedding anniversary

    This was my first time staying here. I stay for a Multiple Night Stay in Fukushima and Tochigi twice a year, and at this Hotel I was able to relax and enjoy both the meals and the bath. It has become one of my favorite Hotels.

    A blissful moment of relaxation

    Stunning views of Mt. Bandai and Yairoku Pond from the Room. A relaxing, warming Onsen and delicious cuisine. Everything was completely satisfying—an blissful moment of relaxation.

    A Hotel that impresses you every time you visit

    We stayed in a Deluxe Twin on the Mt. Bandai side. It was cloudy on the day we arrived, but the next day was clear and we enjoyed views of Mt. Bandai and Yairoku Pond. The Onsen temperature was just right, and the view from there was also lovely—different from the one from our Room. We chose French cuisine for both dinner and breakfast, and everything—the flavors, atmosphere, and staff service—was excellent. The Room has a couch sofa, but it’s basically for one person and feels cramped for two. Since my partner took it over, I went to the library and read two books—another fond memory of our stay.

    Definitely coming back!

    A relaxing stay with both Japanese and Western cuisine Seasonal ingredients were used to great effect, with excellent flavor and variety, and everything was clean and comfortable. All staff were genuinely attentive and helped us whenever we needed assistance. You can take a walk around the grounds, and in the guest lounge we enjoyed reading with complimentary coffee while taking in the view of Mt. Bandai—truly a wonderful time. With easy access to Goshikinuma Ponds, this is a Hotel we would definitely like to visit again.

    The Room, the view, and the bath are great, but...

    Dining The operation was disappointing. Dinner is served in two seatings, and we were told only the later 19:45 start was available. We were understandably hungry by then. When we arrived, a large group was being very loud, and we were shocked by the atmosphere. For parties of 20 or more, a banquet room seems more appropriate. If it must be held in the restaurant, we would have appreciated better management to separate space and time. We had intended this as an anniversary meal, but it was so noisy that we could barely hear each other, which made things awkward. Food The seasoning of the seafood tartare and the doneness of the steak were good, but everything else felt quite ordinary. Nothing particularly impressed us. Because it has been fully booked every summer holiday season and we couldn’t get a Reservation before, this year we planned far in advance, made a Reservation early, and were really looking forward to it, so perhaps our expectations were too high. The classical exterior is lovely and the art sense is good; we had imagined something luxurious, but in reality it felt like a casual family Hotel.

    I returned because I...

    I returned because I love the view of Mount Bandai and Yairoku Pond from the room, the garden, and the library facing the garden. The weather wasn’t very kind to us, but on the middle day it was cloudy, and we borrowed rain boots and took a walk around Goshikinuma. On the last day, while looking out at the rain-soaked greenery, spending time in the library was a slow, relaxing experience we don’t usually get to enjoy. The meals were delicious, and they kindly accommodated my husband’s requests as he has food preferences and can’t eat large portions. The food, scenery, and staff—everything was pleasant, and I’m glad we stayed for two nights. Many of the guests were seniors, so we were able to enjoy a quiet stay.

    Above all, I was ama...

    Above all, I was amazed by the beautiful national park-like garden at the Hotel. The view from the open-air bath was also outstanding. Next time, I hope to visit during the autumn foliage season. The meals were delicious, and the Library’s book selection was excellent—I truly felt refreshed both physically and mentally.

    It was very relaxing.

    It was my first visit. I was completely satisfied with everything, but there are three highlights worth mentioning. I have stayed at many Hotels, and the dining here was exceptionally satisfying. It’s rare to find Western cuisine of this quality. I was amazed by the consommé made from chicken and vegetables—it concentrated the natural flavors of the ingredients beautifully. None of the dishes felt heavy, and I enjoyed everything right to the end. The ayu paired wonderfully with eggplant as well, and I was impressed by how it all came together. My husband and I even said we would like to stay again just for the meals. The wonderful location was also a major plus. I could truly relax while taking in such a luxurious view. I believe that’s thanks to how meticulously everything is kept clean—from the rooms to the large public bath and even the garden. We enjoyed coffee in the library, and used cups were promptly cleared away; there wasn’t a single unpleasant detail. Above all, what stood out most was how wonderful your staff are. Everyone—the person who provided Shuttle Service by bus, the front desk team, each member of restaurant service staff, and housekeeping—was warm and professional. There were also staff members with charming Fukushima dialects, which sounded lovely to me. In particular, one restaurant staff member remained poised while still engaging in pleasant conversation; unfortunately I didn’t get their name. I hope to see them again on my next visit. Thank you very much.

    Excellent

    The luxurious atmosphere and the outstanding hospitality of the staff. The open-air bath is wonderful. Excellent value for money. Nothing more to say. I think it’s the best in the Tohoku region.

    This is a very lovely Hotel.

    I stayed here on the recommendation of a friend who has visited many times. On the day of my arrival, I was informed that the Banetsu West Line had been suspended due to heavy rain, and they kindly picked me up at Koriyama Station, which was a great help. It rained heavily into the night, but I was able to relax and enjoy the Onsen. The meals were delicious, and the staff’s warm smiles made dining a truly pleasant experience. I’ve only just returned home, but I already want to visit again. I’d love to come back in a different season.

    It was wonderful.

    It was wonderful. The food was delicious, and the Room was comfortable. The interior had great taste, and the artwork on the room key was stylish. The staff were also kind. I’d love to visit again!

    Even if the weather turns bad

    Due to bad weather and bear activity, we couldn’t take a lakeside walk within the Facility, and Mt. Bandai was only occasionally visible through breaks in the clouds. Still, we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing stay indoors with the library, a clean Room, and a pleasant bath. The meals were delicious as well. We’d love to try the Western-style dinner again in a different season. The only disappointment was the shop. Because of the bad weather we bought souvenirs inside the Hotel, but we would have been happier with a wider selection. The Diamond Member gift was especially appreciated as avid readers. Thank you for taking care of us.

    Enjoy our Mother-Daughter Trip Plan

    To treat my mother, I made a Reservation for the first time with the mother-and-daughter trip Plan. Although the rainy season hadn’t ended and rain was forecast for the week before and after, we were miraculously blessed with clear skies during our stay, and I was deeply moved to be able to see Mt. Bandai from our Room. The Plan perk of sparkling wine was excellent, and it really got our conversation flowing. Just when I was thinking that for a second drink I wanted something like a dark beer rather than wine, there was a perfect local craft beer—exactly what I hoped for. The library on the first floor was also wonderful and very comfortable, with a lovely atmosphere as each guest relaxed in their own way. I’ve visited Urabandai many times for winter skiing, but this time I was finally able to stay at my long-awaited Urabandai Kogen Hotel, and I’m truly grateful. Late check-out until 12:00 was also very helpful. I fully enjoyed the luxury of “doing nothing and going nowhere.”

    It was the best stay!

    A long-held wish finally came true, and I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days this time. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great, but since my goal was to relax at the Hotel rather than go sightseeing, I was able to take it easy and unwind. The restaurant and Onsen were on the same floor as my Room, which made them very convenient to use. The meals were excellent—the portions and course balance were just right, and everything tasted wonderful. The Onsen was truly soothing, with the scent of trees and flowers in the air. The Room was simple and spotless, perfect for relaxing, and the library had a great selection of books plus complimentary drinks—an ideal place to unwind. Everything felt perfectly balanced with nothing lacking or excessive, all staff were pleasant, and I’d love to return next year as well. This is an outstanding Hotel where I’d like to stay longer if I can get time off!

    A Hotel with Stunning Views

    Although the building is old, it has been beautifully renovated, and we were able to enjoy a very comfortable stay. The view from the open-air bath was as beautiful as a painting, and we never got tired of it no matter how long we stayed.

    Stayed in a Superior...

    Stayed in a Superior Twin room on the Mt. Bandai side. The wonderful views and delicious meals were truly relaxing for both body and mind. We were also lucky to have great weather, and it was beautiful to see Mt. Bandai reflected in the garden-side lake. All of the staff were kind, and we are very grateful. Thank you!

    The perfect place to relax

    My second stay—this place really is my favorite! The bath is especially amazing; I could soak in it forever. With the solo traveler Plan, you can enjoy as much alcohol-free sake—including some rare varieties—as you like at dinner, so I’d love to share the experience with others, but the alcohol-free option is hard to beat (lol). I’ll be back!

    Outstanding views!

    The Hotel’s setting on the shore of Yaroku-numa Pond, with Mt. Urabandai in the background, can only be described as stunning. The views from the windows were wonderful, and the scenery from both the indoor and open-air baths in the large public bath felt like a painting. The large public bath was especially well maintained; the indoor bath windows were perfectly clear, seemingly equipped with climate control to prevent fogging. The water temperature was just right, allowing me to soak and relax at length. As expected of a long-established Hotel, the staff’s hospitality was impeccable. I was very satisfied with the quantity and quality of the meals, as well as the pace at which each dish was served—it suited me perfectly. This time I traveled solo and was able to truly unwind. Thank you very much. I hope to visit again in a different season.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    Although the weather was cloudy and very windy, we were able to relax and feel refreshed by taking a walk around Yairoku-numa, trying out the hammock, and enjoying the Onsen both in the evening and in the morning. The indoor bath and open-air bath were beautifully integrated into one, making it a stunning bathing space. The luxurious Japanese-modern Room was very calming. We had one double bed and one futon, and slept comfortably. We chose French for dinner and Japanese for breakfast; while the wagyu was a bit tough, many local ingredients were used throughout, allowing us to fully enjoy the flavors of Fukushima/Aizu. Overall, this is a Hotel we would like to stay at again.

    Completely satisfied

    They even took my feedback about the razors into account, it’s all-inclusive, Mount Bandai is breathtakingly beautiful beyond words, and the staff’s hospitality is impeccable—I can’t find a single reason not to come back.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    I stayed in a Room on the Mt. Bandai side, and the view from the window was breathtaking—it felt as if I had Mt. Bandai all to myself. Even if it costs a bit more, I would highly recommend choosing a Room on the Mt. Bandai side. The Accommodation was very quiet with a calm atmosphere, allowing me to relax and unwind at ease. The Onsen was simple yet soothing, and the views from both the large public bath and the open-air bath exceeded my expectations—I was truly satisfied. I chose Japanese cuisine for both breakfast and dinner. Each dish was carefully prepared, and everything was delicious. Because my expectations for dinner were high, there wasn’t one standout dish that left an especially strong impression; however, there were also no dishes that felt disappointing, and overall it was very satisfying. I fully enjoyed both the style and flavors of the meal, and by the end I felt highly satisfied with both the quality and quantity. Thanks to the delicious food, warm service, and wonderful Onsen, I had a comfortable stay. Overall I am very satisfied, and I would love to visit again.

    Refresh with fresh air!

    This is a wonderful Hotel where you can always enjoy a comfortable stay. The view from the bath is amazing! It’s also great that you can choose either Western or Japanese cuisine for both breakfast and dinner. On the way home, I always find myself wishing it were a little closer to my house.

    The bath is especially wonderful in spring!

    Last time we visited in March, when there was still snow on the ground, but this time we were able to come in May when the greenery was beautiful, making our stay even more satisfying. The view of the lake and Mt. Bandai from the baths is especially wonderful. The blue-and-green contrast seen from the open-air bath goes without saying, but in the indoor bath there is a spot where, as you lower your gaze, the surface of the water aligns with the lake like an infinity pool—absolutely amazing. Depending on the light, Mt. Bandai and the surrounding trees are reflected upside down even in the indoor bath, which is truly beautiful. We enjoyed Japanese cuisine for both dinner and breakfast; everything was delicious, and chatting with the restaurant staff made for a very enjoyable time—we really felt their warm hospitality. There are also buses to Goshikinuma Ponds (the highlight of our trip), which makes it very convenient and highly recommended!

    Cherry blossoms

    I have stayed here several times, and I always enjoy it. This time, however, I stayed with my daughter and her husband who live in New York. They were very satisfied with the Onsen for the first time in a while, the view from the Accommodation, and Japanese cuisine. For us elderly couple, it was a familiar view, but this time we were moved by the cherry blossoms in full bloom and the skunk cabbage blooming along the stream running through the garden. The meals were too much for an elderly couple; we would be happy with just 2–3 dishes so we can truly savor each one. Would it be possible to offer a Plan with smaller portions? This may be unnecessary to mention, but when we were leaving, a foreign visitor came into the lobby because they wanted to see what kind of view it was. A staff member immediately told them that only guests are allowed here and made them leave. I felt that if they only wanted to look at the lobby, it might have been nice to let them take a quick look—it could even become a reason for them to decide to stay here in the future. Of course, if they stayed longer than that it could cause issues and would need to be monitored carefully, but it seemed like they left with a bad impression. It is not an easy matter, but I wanted to share what I noticed.

    The view, the in-roo...

    The view, the in-room Onsen, and everything else were just right—nothing lacking or excessive—and I was able to relax deeply. As I was leaving, I had a pleasant chat with a guest visiting from Yokohama; I felt this kind of experience is unique to this Hotel. I also found horsetail shoots in the garden.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay. I had wanted to stay at this Hotel for a long time. It was even more wonderful than I imagined, and I was truly impressed. The French cuisine was delicious, the Room was clean and refreshing, and the view from the Room was outstanding. I would love to stay again in a different season.

    It was a bit disappointing.

    I used the early check-in Plan. I was told the bath would be available from 3:00 PM, so I followed that guidance, but the Room information stated that bathing was possible from the time of arrival. The Room air conditioning would not switch to cooling, and although a fan was provided, it was hot and uncomfortable to sleep. The view was wonderful, and the restaurant staff were pleasant and welcoming with their smiles, but I wish the front desk staff were better trained.

    Completely satisfied with everything except for one thing.

    There is no other Hotel with a Room, beds, open-air bath, meals, staff hospitality, and views as wonderful as this one.\nThe only disappointing point was the razor. It was a dangerous two-blade type, and I ended up getting injured. They should replace it with a safer one as soon as possible.
