I had high expectations because the Reviews were good, but...
We arrived after 4:00 p.m. and tried to make a Reservation for the private bath, but were told, “Not possible today.” We had been looking forward to it, so it was disappointing. The public bath feels full with just 2–3 women, so if someone is already there you need to adjust your timing. The water flow at the sink in our Room was extremely weak, so I couldn’t even wash my face. I went to the wash area by the public bath instead, but there was only one sink and it was in use, so even washing my face required careful timing—it was difficult. Dinner was not served in the Room but in the dining area, and we were seated in a room together with other guests (only two parties total), which somehow felt awkward. As shown in the photos there was sashimi, but the main dishes were a large grilled flounder and miso-grilled pork, so it didn’t feel particularly special. The seasoning was quite salty—good for drinking alcohol. It wasn’t served course by course; everything was set out in advance. At dinner time a staff member came to our Room five minutes beforehand to tell us that the meal was ready; at breakfast we were called by phone. After breakfast while resting in the Room, we received another call asking to confirm “in-house charges (drinks at dinner).” I assumed they wanted to prepare the bill before checkout, but it felt like we were being rushed and couldn’t relax (some people may find this attentive and appreciate it). This time we stayed on the first floor in a Room surrounded by high walls with a small courtyard garden in front of them. However, the veranda window would not lock (the window itself didn’t fully close). We asked staff for help and they tried to fix it but ultimately couldn’t; they told us, “Even if it doesn’t lock, no one will come in—so don’t worry,” and we went to sleep as-is. During that process the screen door came off and several insects got into the room. The Reviews are good so perhaps our expectations were too high, but considering the price we felt disappointed with the Facility overall as well as the service and meals.

Peaceful Moments
Surrounded by delicious meals, a free-flowing natural hot spring bath, and adorable cats, I was able to spend a gentle, peaceful time. Thank you very much.

An Accommodation where you can relax with delicious cuisine and adorable cats
I came to see the adorable cats, but the food was delicious, the Onsen water was wonderful, and all the staff were incredibly thoughtful—I was completely satisfied in every way. The bath is quite small (about three women max), but perhaps because there are only a few Rooms, I was able to relax and enjoy it almost privately. The meals featured plenty of seafood, and the uni served in its shell was especially amazing! My only regret is that I ate too much lunch before arriving and couldn’t finish everything. Next time I’ll come hungry (lol). And the cats I’d been looking forward to were truly well-behaved! The young proprietress, Suzu-chan, came to our Room several times to greet us, which was so soothing. I was more than satisfied—this is a Ryokan I’d love to visit again!

It was my first time...
It was my first time in Aomori, and I decided to visit Asamushi Onsen. The weather was pleasant in mid-May, and although the building is old, it has been carefully renovated while preserving its charm. I was able to relax in the bath, and enjoyed a luxurious dinner served in my Room, which made for a very restful stay. The white rice at breakfast was also delicious. The resident cat was adorable as well. Thank you very much.

Thank you for the delicious meal.
The Onsen was free-flowing, and I appreciated being able to bathe even at night. The meals were delicious, and during our Multiple Night Stay, I was delighted by the carefully planned breakfast on the second morning as well. The dishes featured seafood mainly from Mutsu Bay, which felt refreshingly new and fresh to me. The grilled scallops in their shells and the sashimi were especially excellent. Next time, I would like to stay in winter so I can try Oma tuna.

I was deeply moved by the soothing presence of the cats and the warm hospitality.
I chose this Ryokan because it has cats and I thought I could relax with in-Room dining, and it turned out to be a truly satisfying stay. The warm hospitality of the staff, the calm Japanese-style Room, and the Onsen—small yet very relaxing—made everything feel comfortable and welcoming. Both breakfast and dinner were also delicious. The cats I had been looking forward to were all adorable, and they came to visit my Room many times. I was impressed not only by how friendly they were, but also by how well-behaved they were—they didn’t disturb our meals or rummage through our belongings. When I wasn’t feeling well during my stay, the staff kindly helped right away, including laying out my futon for me. Their thoughtful care truly meant a lot. Thanks to them, I felt better by the next morning and was able to fully enjoy sightseeing in Aomori. When I visit Aomori again, I would love to stay here again. Thank you!

Year-End and New Year Holidays
Two consecutive years of New Year's accommodation. The seafood dishes are always delicious, and the staff is very pleasant. Thank you for taking care of us again this year.

The cost for bringing pets is high.
On August 11th, we stayed with 4 people in 2 rooms and brought a small dog. We made the reservation under the pet-friendly plan, but at check-out, we were charged an additional fee of ¥16,000 (¥4,000 × 4 people) because it was a "pet plan." Typically, fees are set per pet. Since we informed you about bringing a pet during the reservation process, it seems necessary to provide prior clarification about the additional cost (¥16,000 for 4 people).

A Trip to Play with Cats at Asamushi Onsen Satsuki with Friends
This is an accommodation I had wanted to visit for a long time. As mentioned in everyone's reviews, it was a warm and traditional Asamushi Onsen accommodation. The cuisine, as expected from a kaiseki-style establishment, was very delicious, especially the grilled shellfish miso at breakfast. For dinner, we enjoyed whole sea urchin and hairy crab. The inn's cat hostess, Papako-chan, visited our room several times to play with us. She seemed so comfortable that she even fell asleep at night. The quality of the onsen was excellent and warmed us to the core. Being able to bathe 24 hours a day was also greatly appreciated. All the staff were kind and provided such warm hospitality that it felt like returning to my countryside home. Thank you so much for making our stay special! It was an accommodation where I could relax and forget about the busyness of daily life. I would love to visit again in winter!

When I arrived at the airport, there was heavy snow, and driving was nerve-wracking, but I finally made it to Satsuki-san. From the moment I entered the Ryokan, I felt relieved by the warm hospitality. I immediately enjoyed the Onsen in a private bath, and the dinner I was looking forward to was full of heartfelt warm dishes. The sashimi was fresh, and the raw shirako was very delicious. Since it was Christmas Eve, they even served cake, for which I am truly grateful. It was below freezing outside, but inside the Stays, it was warm, and I slept soundly at night. In the morning, I enjoyed the private bath from 5:30, had a delicious breakfast with fruits and tasty coffee, and then left the Property. Recently, there are many Stays that use ready-made products, which can be disappointing, but Satsuki-san is a perfect score. It has become a Property I would like to visit again if I have the opportunity.

It was delicious.
As expected of a kaiseki ryokan, the food was delicious. We were able to relax even with our dog. The visit from the cat was also very nice. I hope there will be more pet-friendly Stays in the future. I wish for your continued success.
