    It was a truly wonderful wedding anniversary.

    Dear Kamon Team, To celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary, we stayed here for the first time based on Reviews of the Hakone area, and it became the best anniversary we could have hoped for. My wife and I are truly grateful. From check-in to check-out, we received exceptionally attentive hospitality. Starting with the wonderful attendant who cared for us with a warm smile, every member of staff—from their graceful manner to their thoughtful attention to detail—was exactly as described in the Reviews. The beautifully redesigned blend of Japanese and Western style was impressive, and every corner of the Facility was meticulously cleaned and well maintained, creating an outstanding sense of freshness and comfort. As lovers of traditional Ryokan stays, both my wife and I were completely satisfied. We were also delighted by the wide selection of stylish women’s yukata—and even more so by receiving a charming pouch filled with amenities. When we mentioned in advance that we were visiting for our anniversary, thoughtful touches awaited us at dinner: a framed red-and-white crane mizuhiki decoration, chopstick rests marked with celebratory characters, sekihan served in an adorable bowl decorated with auspicious lettering—and even a commemorative gift of a ceramic tumbler set. The dinner course was superb: exquisite ingredients beautifully presented on elegant tableware, creating an experience that delighted all five senses. We could feel the refined aesthetic sense and craftsmanship of everyone in the kitchen team throughout. Of course, everything—from flavor and portion size to temperature control (hot/cold) and perfectly timed serving—was flawless. We have stayed at various luxury Ryokan and heritage Hotels every year for our anniversary, but there is no doubt that Kamon has become an unforgettable Accommodation for us. Even on our way home, my wife and I couldn’t stop talking about your hospitality all along the journey back. We would love to return again soon, and we sincerely look forward to seeing you then. Wishing your Accommodation continued success in the years ahead.

    This was my second stay. Delicious cuisine, beautiful tableware that delights the eyes, a wide variety of baths you’ll want to enjoy again and again, and a clean, comfortable Room that’s easy to use. Once again, I left feeling that I had a wonderful time. I’m sorry for the trouble of having my forgotten item delivered to me. I’d love to visit again in a different season.

    Room air conditioner

    Overall, it was good. Unfortunately, the Room air conditioner was noisy and kept me from sleeping soundly (the noise did not decrease even when I lowered the temperature).

    A Wonderful Onsen Ryokan That Truly Soothes the Soul

    This was our second stay, and we visited as a family of five—my mother, my wife, and our two children. The service, meals, Onsen, and thoughtful attention to detail were all outstanding, and every member of our family was completely satisfied with the stay. Above all, seeing how happy my mother was made me especially glad we chose this Accommodation. Thanks to the warm hospitality of the staff, we were able to relax together as a family and enjoy a comfortable time that became a wonderful memory. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us. We would love to visit again with our family.

    Please provide two Room keys. Other than that, we were satisfied with everything, including the meals and the Onsen. It is very close to a 5-star rating. I think we will visit again.

    I stayed in a Room on the Rikka floor. When I requested a pick-up to Hakone-Yumoto Station, I was surprised when a limousine arrived. The location doesn’t offer much of a view, but the Room was spacious and excellent, with a large TV, very comfortable bed, an open-air bath and footbath in the guest room, and great amenities such as a ReFa shower head and hair dryer. The welcome fruit and complimentary drinks were also appreciated. I only used the open-air bath in the guest room, but it felt wonderful—I could have stayed in it forever. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Everything looked beautiful as well as tasting great, and the portions are generous, so even big eaters will be satisfied. Since I don’t eat much, I ended up forcing myself to finish toward the end despite how good it was—so I might have been better off choosing a Plan with smaller portions. One thing that stood out was around the sink area. The basin is far from where you stand, making it hard to use, and because there’s distance between the faucet and basin as well, with low water flow it doesn’t reach properly—so water splashed everywhere around the basin and I had to wipe it up repeatedly with towels. The mirror is also far from where you stand, so it wasn’t suitable for checking details when applying makeup or shaving. It would be nice if an additional mirror could be provided for a more comfortable experience. Overall, everything was very good. In particular, everyone who assisted us provided pleasant service—it’s an Accommodation I would love to return to.

    A very comfortable Hotel

    I sincerely appreciate the Hotel’s warm hospitality. From the moment I was greeted, I felt a heartfelt welcome. The attentive care at check-in, the attention to detail in every meal, and even the complimentary green tea at check-out all reflected the Hotel’s genuine commitment to guest service. Wonderful! If I have the chance to visit Hakone again, I would definitely like to stay at this Hotel again.

    It was a good Ryokan, but...

    The staff service was good, the meals were pleasantly tasty, and the in-room open-air bath was great. The futon bedding was also satisfying. I would like to express my gratitude to all the staff who assisted us that day. Overall, I am basically satisfied. Some reviews give low ratings, but we did not experience those issues in most respects. I feel those are just nitpicking comments. However, there are a few things on my mind, which is why I’m giving this rating. First, I wonder whether a pre-stay confirmation phone call is really necessary. You said we could respond by email or phone, so I replied by email, but in the end you still called me. I think handling everything by email would be fine. Also, despite confirming by phone, it bothered me that when the complimentary fruit was provided there weren’t enough plates for everyone. Next is that there is simply too much explanation—bath hours, smoking rules, toilet lid instructions, and so on. The staff responses/explanations and written notices are thorough and perfect, but it feels like you’re constantly trying to prevent problems in advance, which makes it quite restrictive. This may be why we couldn’t fully relax. Next is the food: it is definitely tasty. However, for an Accommodation in this price range, I think the quality could be a bit higher. We were satisfied with the private open-air bath as well; however, because the Hakone-Odawara Road runs right next to it, you can hear traffic noise continuously. Even though we should have been satisfied overall somehow we couldn’t fully settle down and relax. Compared with other Ryokan in the same price range many aspects feel noticeably inferior. And if you choose high-end services like rocca at a higher price point that gap will likely feel even larger. To reiterate: there were no issues with the staff service at all. It seems more likely that your operational policy does not match (or intentionally differs from) what guests expect at this price range.

    A cozy Accommodation surrounded by beautiful bamboo groves

    Our family of four stayed at rocca Yui. The bamboo grove view that caught our eye the moment we entered the Room was even more impressive than on the website, and truly moving. We took a break with welcome fruit while enjoying a forest-bathing atmosphere. The meals included a well-balanced amount of vegetables, were very easy to enjoy, and left us completely satisfied. Although there are many baths, the number of Rooms is small, so it felt like having them privately to ourselves. Each staff member offered thoughtful hospitality, with a warm and comfortable sense of distance you won’t find at large Ryokan. We would love to return when the season changes. Thank you very much for everything.

    Birthday celebration

    We stayed as three generations—grandmother, parents, and child—to celebrate a birthday. First, we were picked up near the station in a limousine, which immediately got us excited. Our Room had a private open-air bath with Onsen water, spacious enough for us to enjoy many times and warm up thoroughly. Perhaps because we had informed them in advance that my elderly mother would be joining us, they provided thoughtful touches such as an easy-to-stand-up chair; their consideration was outstanding. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious across the board, beautifully presented, and beyond reproach. This is a Ryokan we would love to visit again.

    This was our first return in four years, and just like last time, we had a wonderful stay with delicious meals and spacious Onsen baths. The food in particular suited our tastes perfectly at both dinner and breakfast; we stay at luxury Onsen Ryokan around Japan every year, and this was among the very best. The Room and the staff’s service were never overbearing, yet their thoughtful attention to detail was truly relaxing. Hakone has many places to visit, but we were so satisfied that simply soaking in the Onsen here and enjoying the meals felt more than enough.

    An Accommodation You’ll Want to Return to Again and Again

    This is my third stay. I usually like trying different Accommodations and don’t often stay at the same place, but this is one I want to come back to again and again! There are many kinds of baths, so it never gets boring, and while the Rooms range from simple to upscale, all of them are clean. When I booked a Room with a private Onsen, I had stayed at a more luxurious Accommodation the night before but was full of complaints—so I was truly impressed by how wonderful the Room was and how excellent the service was. And everything we ate was delicious!! It was far better than Accommodations that cost twice as much. I’m sure there will be a fourth and fifth visit. Please keep up this high standard.

    Exceptional service that truly embodies Japanese hospitality

    We stayed here to celebrate a family birthday. We informed the staff in advance and ordered a cake separately, and they told us they would do what they could to create a celebratory atmosphere. What “they could do” far exceeded our expectations—my niece, whose birthday it was, of course, and our whole family felt truly happy. We thoroughly enjoyed the baths, including the open-air bath in our Room. The meal also came with many thoughtful touches that genuinely conveyed their congratulations, and my teenage niece was delighted—taking photos and enjoying every moment. The Room was comfortable and relaxing, so we were able to spend unhurried time together as a family. My elderly mother was with us as well; there were fewer steps than expected, and whenever there were any level changes, the staff kindly alerted us, which made us feel at ease. We were completely satisfied with everything—the Shuttle Service, meals, Room, baths, everyone’s consideration, and the attentive service. We would love to visit again if we have the chance.

    The Ryokan was clean and well-maintained, and the food was delicious!

    Both dinner and breakfast were extremely satisfying—everything was incredibly delicious. The staff were also very kind. There were international staff members as well, and I was amazed at how fluent their Japanese was. The Room orientation was smooth, too. I was happy to receive a drink as a small souvenir at the end. The pick-up bus was really unique and fun—I couldn’t help taking photos. It made me feel like I was heading to a castle. We could bring our stroller on board without folding it up. If you don’t have a stroller, you might be taken by limousine instead. The in-Room bath felt wonderful. It seems to be set around 42°C and can be adjusted with cold water, but the original temperature was perfect for me. The large public bath had many different baths, which made it fun—I tried them all. There were baby baths and children’s chairs as well. There were plenty of sinks and vanity areas, and the amenities selection was more than enough. Since the Ryokan doesn’t have that many Rooms, the public bath never felt crowded, so we could relax. We weren’t sure whether to include meals for our 3-year-old child, but we chose a no-meals Plan because they said they would provide white rice with furikake seasoning and miso soup even with that Plan. The rice was delicious—our child even asked for seconds. We shared some of our dishes with them, and everyone ended up completely full. So delicious! A few minor concerns: the entrance door in the Room interfered with the closet door; when using hot water at the sink, it’s hard to tell which part of the faucet corresponds to what temperature (I accidentally turned on water that was too hot—some markings would help); I’d prefer hair oil rather than hair spray (spray tends to get everywhere); the De’Longhi coffee machine’s extraction amount (middle button) didn’t match the cup size and overflowed (maybe a previous guest changed settings—please reset properly); on streaming apps like YouTube on the TV, a previous guest’s account wasn’t logged out so it could still be accessed (it would be better to log out during Room cleaning; if it’s an official Ryokan account, please make that clear). That’s about all I noticed. The Room also had plenty of bug/mosquito prevention items (all stored in drawers). Women can choose from colored yukata robes, and there were yukata robes and amenities (like toothbrushes) for children too—which I really appreciated. It’s a Ryokan I’d definitely love to stay at again!

    A wonderful Accommodation that scores a perfect 10 in every way

    This was our first trip to Hakone, and we stayed at your Accommodation. From arrival to departure the next day, every service was perfect. The lobby, the entire facility, and the Room furnishings were all wonderful—and of course the meals and the Onsen exceeded our expectations. All staff were cheerful and welcoming with warm smiles, which made us feel truly comfortable. My husband’s birthday was coming up, and you kindly said you had seen it in the guest register; you decorated our dinner table with a birthday plate, provided celebratory red rice as a complimentary service, and even gave us a commemorative gift. We were deeply touched. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. The Onsen offered various types of baths with excellent water quality. Thank you very much for such a wonderful stay. When we visit Hakone again, we would love to return.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    The bath, meals, and service were outstanding. There were complimentary drinks in the refrigerator, and when we checked out we even received tea as a souvenir in a cute bag. The drawstring pouch with toothbrushes and other amenities was also adorable and practical for everyday use. Thank you very much. We were also happy that you prepared sekihan (red bean rice) to celebrate our 77th birthday milestone.

    Highly satisfied

    My husband and I stayed for one night. The food was simply delicious! Not only was it delicious, but despite my food allergies and various dietary restrictions, they served wonderful dishes, and we had a truly enjoyable time. We’ve only just returned home, but it’s an Accommodation that already makes us want to go back.

    The ultimate in hospitality and comfort!

    We stayed here for a three-generation girls’ trip with my elderly grandmother, my mother, and two sisters. The Shuttle Service to and from Hakone-Yumoto Station was available, and they picked us up in a retro, adorable bonnet bus. They also lent us a wheelchair to help my grandmother get around inside the Ryokan, and they handled food allergies with great care. The entire property was impeccably clean with a warm wooden feel, and it was so comfortable being able to walk around both inside and outside the Room in socks. In addition to the honey yuzu welcome drink (delicious!), there was also beautiful fruit waiting in our Room—such thoughtful hospitality. Our bright, spacious guest room with an open-air bath was incredibly comfortable. The amenities were more than enough on their own, but when we went to the large public bath (perhaps because each Room has its own bath), it felt completely private—and we were impressed by the fully equipped vanity area with everything we needed. The TV in the Room was huge and new, and the futon bedding was so comfortable that we slept very well. We were also surprised that all drinks in the in-room refrigerator—including alcohol—were free! Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, with plenty of dishes—truly a luxurious experience. After breakfast, they even offered coffee service in the tea lounge area, which made us very happy. Every staff member was kind and provided wonderful service—it really was a perfect Ryokan. My grandmother was delighted as well and kept saying what a wonderful Accommodation it was. We definitely want to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Highly satisfied

    I stayed with my husband and my elderly mother. The renovated Room was very clean, and the bamboo grove view and open-air bath were wonderful. The TV in the Room was very large, and we were impressed by the powerful picture quality. All of the food was delicious. Because we stayed on a weekday, the large public bath was not crowded, so we could relax and enjoy it. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. It was a very satisfying trip. Thank you.

    It was a wonderful Accommodation. The staff’s hospitality was excellent, and I had a very comfortable stay. At check-out, I was given tea, thoughtfully placed in a handmade bag, which truly impressed me. When I visit Hakone, I would definitely like to stay here again.

    Traveling with Elderly Parents

    All the Accommodation staff were wonderful, and we had a very pleasant stay. True to the name “Kamon,” it was lovely to feel the presence of flowers throughout the building in various places. Although it is a historic Accommodation, it was clean and didn’t feel old at all, and my parents were delighted by this extraordinary space. The only point was that for my elderly father, who has some difficulty walking, he would have felt more at ease if there were grab bars both in the in-Room bath and in the public bath (there is only one grab bar in the public bath). Without grab bars he felt uneasy, so he did not go outside to use the public bath. Aside from this, we liked it very much and would like to return. Since there aren’t many Rooms, being able to use the spacious public bath without crowds was also a luxurious and enjoyable experience.

    A perfect Accommodation in every way

    We stayed here to celebrate and make special memories. We found it online, and honestly, it was a wonderful Accommodation. Shuttle Service by dedicated bus from Hakone-Yumoto Station The selectable yukata are cute and fun True to the name of the Accommodation, the interior is beautifully decorated with lots of flowers (even the tableware features floral designs) You receive a floral-pattern drawstring pouch with amenities The standard dinner course was more than satisfying in both taste and portion size Breakfast is also luxurious: you can choose from three types of dried fish, and you can also choose your egg dish The baths include a spacious public bath, and the open-air bath has a lovely atmosphere The staff’s hospitality is outstanding All drinks in the Room refrigerator are free: beer, chu-hi, canned coffee, bottled tea, and soda—everything. At checkout, we received another adorable souvenir tea gift in a floral-pattern drawstring pouch They lent us red and purple celebratory vests for our 60th birthday (kanreki) and 90th birthday (sotsuju) celebrations at no charge (they even coordinated our dining setting around “celebration,” which showed such thoughtful attention to detail) There is an easy-to-use footbath We heard it was renovated a few years ago, so everything inside is spotless. The floral decorations are very soothing. Because the building is compact, moving between the baths, dining area, and Room was easy—which really helped since we were traveling with elderly parents. To be honest, we’ve stayed at more expensive places before, but this exceeded them with better service, delicious food, and genuine hospitality. We were truly impressed. We made wonderful anniversary memories. We would love to stay again someday.

    Hmm!!

    I stayed for two nights. Overall, I had a good impression, but there were many points where I wished things were just a bit better, so this is my rating. Baths In the large public bath, I saw several hair caps left on the floor in both the bathing area and the changing room, which made me wonder whether regular checks are being done. The Onsen in the Room was recirculated, and there was no view. Meals For the main dish we chose spiny lobster and abalone, but the seasoning was quite strong and I couldn’t really taste or enjoy the aroma of the spiny lobster, which felt a bit disappointing. The fish we were recommended (salmon) also felt a little dry. Room Considering it cost about 100,000 yen per person for two nights, the Room didn’t feel as luxurious as expected. I also would have appreciated higher-grade amenities (such as organic skincare). There was a coffee machine in the Room, but we had to refill the water ourselves and dispose of used grounds ourselves. Around 9–10 a.m., there was noise loud enough to feel vibrations—perhaps from cleaning or tidying up—but that’s when we wanted to relax in the morning, so I would have appreciated more consideration. Service Everyone was polite and courteous, but unfortunately nothing particularly memorable stood out. It also felt like a bit of a burden having to move around with our suitcase when leaving.

    Thank you for your warm hospitality.

    From the moment we entered Kamon’s parking lot, we were welcomed with warm, enveloping hospitality. The amenities and Facility are fairly standard, but if there had been a reclining chair beside the open-air bath in the guest room, we might have enjoyed nature even more. The proprietress and all staff treated us equally, and we were truly moved by their kind, unified service as one team.

    Warm hospitality and attentive service, a truly satisfying meal, and an excellent bath. Perfect.

    I stayed one night in the Special Room “Sou.” There is a free dedicated Shuttle Service from Hakone-Yumoto Station. I had planned to drive but changed plans at the last minute and took the Romancecar instead; when I called upon arrival, they came to pick me up in a Mercedes. Since I’m on the bigger side, there wasn’t any service to carry my luggage (lol). The staff member in charge looked after me closely from check-in through breakfast on the final morning. At the dining venue, when staff notice guests, they greet everyone loudly from the kitchen. Every staff member I passed proactively greeted me with a smile, which felt wonderful. The food lived up to its reputation of being ranked No. 1 among over 1,000 Accommodation options—both taste and portion size were extremely satisfying. The abalone butter grill served at dinner was especially outstanding. Their manner of speaking, pace, volume, and timing of check-ins during meals were all perfect. This is an excellent Accommodation where every staff member consistently shows genuine hospitality toward guests; you can tell there is strong teamwork and thorough training, and that they provide service with just the right level of professionalism and pride. A few points to note: the bath in the Room was quite hot, so I needed to add cold water to adjust it. Also, there were quite a lot of insects—there were spider webs on the dining venue ceiling as well as around the terrace and open-air bath. There were many mosquitoes; I got bitten more than 20 times. Those who are sensitive may find this unpleasant. Insect repellent spray is provided in the Room. There’s a FamilyMart next door, but it’s only open until 11 p.m., and near closing time some frozen items start to thaw. Warm hospitality and attentiveness that you’d expect from a luxury Ryokan, highly satisfying meals, and an amazing bath—this is a truly wonderful Accommodation that makes me want to come back again next time with my family.

    We were very satisfied.

    This was my second stay at Kamon, and I was very satisfied. I was lucky to be able to make a same-day Reservation on Saturday afternoon. Surrounded by the newly renovated Japanese-Western modern room, a wide variety of open-air baths, delicious food, and kind staff, I was able to refresh myself during my first break in a while—it was truly wonderful. I’ll be back again, and I look forward to staying with you.
