Yunosawa Onsen Toki no Yado Sumire

I stayed here during Golden Week, and the moment I stepped onto the grounds, I felt, “This is a wonderful Accommodation.” Perhaps it’s because the proprietress pays close attention to every detail. It’s a truly pleasant place to stay. Because there are only a few guest parties, the staff is also small in number, but they provided attentive service. Needless to say, the food was outstanding. I wasn’t traveling specifically for branded wagyu; I’m the type who prefers to carefully choose and enjoy truly delicious food. Still, it’s rare to find an Accommodation where you can enjoy such a wide variety of cuts prepared in the best possible way for each one. As expected from Oki of Yonezawa beef. The Onsen is relatively small, but since there are few guests, I was able to have it all to myself whenever I went—and the water is excellent. Thank you for such wonderful memories.

I’ve stayed at many Accommodations not only in Japan but also overseas, and this was the best Accommodation I’ve ever experienced. I can say that with confidence.My partner and I stayed for one night on a snowy day in February.It was our first visit.This is an Accommodation exclusively for two guests, and we had been looking forward to it for three months.There were only two other parties besides us that day, so it was almost completely quiet—the only sound was the calming music playing in the lobby. Watching the snow fall over the mountains, we truly felt removed from everyday life.The private bath was also at a comfortable temperature to soak in slowly while looking out at the snowy mountains and river, and it was very convenient to be able to go straight from there to the separate men’s and women’s baths.Above all, the food was delicious—I could have cried!If you had teppanyaki of this level in a prime area of Tokyo, you’d pay about this much just for the meal. With accommodation included plus Onsen access, such a generous breakfast selection, and this wonderful atmosphere, I honestly feel this price is incredibly reasonable.Everyone at the Accommodation provided courteous service as well—we’re truly grateful.It was my first time in Yamagata, but I came to love Yamagata—and Yonezawa—in particular. We will definitely return.
