    Although the buildin...

    Although the building and Facility are not new, the room was clean and quiet, and I was able to relax. The breakfast was also delicious and very satisfying. Thank you very much. One thing: I believe the coffee was served from a dispenser using concentrated packs, but honestly it tasted and smelled only like instant coffee, which was a bit disappointing given how good the breakfast was. I’m not expecting coffee on the level of a luxury Hotel, but I would have appreciated even the kind of self-service machine now commonly found at most Business Hotels that grinds beans and brews fresh coffee.

    The breakfast was delicious.

    When I visit my parents’ home, I stay here once or twice a year. I always book the Moderate Twin, and the Room is spacious and very quiet, so I can relax and rest well. Breakfast has a great variety and is very satisfying. This time (I don’t think it was available last time), there were options like shabu-shabu, steamed vegetables, and meat soup, all of which were delicious. Also, I love tea but watch my caffeine intake. They had decaf options I haven’t seen elsewhere, such as decaf Earl Grey, which was wonderful. They’ve also created a guest lounge using part of the breakfast restaurant area, where you can enjoy soft drinks anytime. It seems like a great place to unwind as well. The rooftop area is still open and remains a soothing space. However, they used to offer one complimentary drink including alcoholic options, and that service has ended, which was a bit disappointing (maybe it was replaced by the lounge?). In any case, I’d definitely like to stay again.

    Great location.

    In Wakayama City, shopping is mainly centered around suburban malls. Other than that, there is little besides the station building at JR Wakayama Station and the nearby Kintetsu Department Store. Hotel Granvia is right next to them, so the location is excellent. The staff are also kind. However, during this stay (Multiple Night Stay), housekeeping was a bit lacking—for example, used glasses were left as they were. I was surprised because it used to be cleaned very thoroughly. Maybe they are short-staffed?

    The cakes at the café were delicious!

    Thank you for hosting us on our first trip to Wakayama! The location was very convenient, just a short walk from the station! The cakes at the café on the first floor were delicious, and the staff were very friendly, so we had a wonderful stay! Thank you very much!

    A Safe and Comfortable Stay in Wakayama

    The convenient location in front of JR Wakayama Station and the clean, comfortable guest rooms are always a great help. The coffee and meals at the Hotel’s cafe (Hotels Cafe Password) are also delicious and satisfying.

    Thank you for taking care of me during my business trip to Wakayama.

    A Hotel right in front of the station. I often checked in late at night on business trips, so I stayed here almost every time during my several trips a year to Wakayama. As a JR-affiliated Hotel, it felt reliable, and the Room was comfortable. When I arrived early, I enjoyed drinks in the lounge on the 7th floor. Despite the age of the building, the bathroom felt clean, and even when I had back-to-back business trips to different places, this Accommodation always felt consistently dependable. Perhaps because you knew I’m a smoker, you were considerate and often assigned me a Room close to the smoking area. My job has changed and I won’t be able to visit for a while, but thank you very much for everything up to now.

    It was conveniently located near the station.

    The Room was thoroughly cleaned and very tidy. Since I had an early departure, I couldn’t have the Hotel breakfast, so I explored around the station, but no shops were open early in the morning and my only option was to buy something at a convenience store. It would be nice if a light meal were available at the café on the first floor of the Hotel.

    It is a good Hotel.

    It was newly renovated and very comfortable. The service was warm and welcoming, which made my stay pleasant. I had an early morning and couldn’t try the breakfast, but I’d like to have it next time.

    Conveniently located near the station, with delicious meals and a comfortable stay!

    During the stay, we enjoyed locally sourced meals at the banquet hall and a breakfast with Japanese, Western, and Chinese options at the morning venue. The accommodation is conveniently connected to the station, and the room was clean and comfortable for a pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

    It was excellent.

    This was my first time staying here. The Facility and Room seemed newly renovated, very clean, and both the Room and unit bath were spacious. I was also satisfied with the Kinujo hairdryer provided. I couldn't use the lounge as it was outside operating hours; it would have been better if it stayed open a bit later. The Hotel is connected to the facility next to the station, which made navigation from the parking lot a bit confusing, but it was convenient for city sightseeing. I would like to stay here again.

    Rooftop

    The rooftop drink service, including alcohol, has long been discontinued, and the free lounge on the 5th floor is inconvenient to access and use. The lounge is almost always empty, which likely meets the Hotel's cost-saving goals. However, we strongly hope for the revival of the rooftop drink service with alcohol. Currently, 70-80% of guests are foreign visitors (recently about 20% are from Western countries, but mostly from China), suggesting that Japanese guests may not be a primary focus.

    Conveniently located.

    Stayed for one night at the start of my trip to Wakayama. I had dinner outside, so I can't comment on the meals, but the drink service had limited options and no snacks, so there was no one around. The Room is a standard Business Hotel room but perfectly adequate. The price is reasonable, and it's convenient enough that I might use it again. Access to the parking lot is inconvenient, and depending on where you park, it can be quite far from the Hotel. It's an affordable Hotel, so I hope it continues operating as it is. Thank you for this stay!

    When I left my lugga...

    When I left my luggage before check-in, I was informed about a room upgrade. However, when I checked in and entered the room, it was not upgraded at all. When I called the front desk, they said it was a mistake by the staff. It was a very disappointing stay.

    Ruined

    The neighboring Room was occupied by a family with small children, and there was significant noise as they banged on the wall with their feet while on the bed. It wasn’t particularly crowded, so I had hoped to relax during my solo trip, but it was completely ruined. Perhaps more consideration could be given to Room assignments based on the number of guests and their composition.

    The air conditioning was not very effective.

    Although it was late April, the night was quite cold. The air conditioner was set to maximum heating, but it barely worked. It seemed there were no blankets provided as a standard. At the very least, having blankets available would be better. Additionally, having a vending machine for alcoholic beverages would be appreciated.

    Service Deterioration

    Recently, the majority of guests are inbound tourists (it seems less than 20% are Japanese), and while it may still sell well with high demand, services like curry from 7 AM and rooftop drinks from 6 PM have been discontinued. Instead, there is a minimal drink bar offering only coffee and tea—no juice available. It appears they are still figuring things out, but there is no trash bin for used sugar or milk packets, no return area for drink containers, and not even staff present. This lack of attention suggests a significant gap in hospitality standards.

    It was a comfortable journey.

    This was my first trip to Wakayama. Traveling alone from the Kanto region and still recovering from an injury, I was a bit anxious, but I had a completely comfortable stay at the accommodation. The front desk staff kindly arranged transportation taxis for me, which allowed me to safely make round trips to my destinations and enjoy a truly wonderful time. Breakfast was served at a restaurant in the station building, which surprised me a little, but it was delicious and lived up to Granvia's reputation. The room environment was also very satisfactory overall. One concern I had was with the wooden luggage rack in the closet—it had worn-out surfaces and dusty legs, making it uncomfortable to use. Replacing it with a sturdy steel one would be better (as other Granvia accommodations didn’t have wooden ones). Additionally, I would appreciate having more hangers available, especially during seasons when coats are necessary. I will definitely make another reservation at Granvia when visiting Wakayama again.     Reliable Accommodation

    I always enjoy staying at Hotel Granvia Wakayama for its great access and comfort. This time, I used the rooftop for the first time. While enjoying complimentary drinks, I was able to refresh by watching Wakayama sightseeing videos and gazing at the star-filled sky. The Kishu breakfast and the complimentary Ikora curry were also delicious. I could relax well in a clean and quiet Room. I would like to stay again.

    We stayed at the Property for our wedding anniversary trip. The warm hospitality made it a memorable trip. The breakfast had a wide variety, featuring local specialties, and was very delicious and satisfying.

    It was comfortable!!

    Thank you for taking care of us again. The Room had a great view, was clean, and very relaxing. The chic and modern design was particularly impressive, allowing us to spend a calm time. The separate toilet and bath type was also comfortable and very good. Additionally, the location of the Hotel was very convenient, and I felt it was ideal as a base for sightseeing. The service was very polite, and I was impressed by the hospitality of all the staff. In the lobby, videos of tourist attractions were shown on monitors, combined with pleasant background music, which further enhanced the travel mood. Furthermore, the thoughtful touches such as the drink service and curry service were much appreciated. Thanks to these services, the stay became more comfortable and special. I would love to visit again. Thank you for your continued support.

    Comfortable beds. Friendly staff.

    The Room is compact but the bed firmness was appropriate and comfortable. The Hotel staff were all polite and attentive. However, although breakfast was included, I couldn't eat it as it opened at 7 AM.

    Use on New Year's Day

    I have been using it on New Year's Day for the past few years. The service is courteous, and the Room is very clean. The bath is easy to enter, but the toilet is narrow, and the washlet controller is too far to the side, making it difficult to use. I think it would be better if it were a little more forward so that it wouldn't be a strain. I enjoyed the breakfast, but the menu seems a bit limited; has it always been like this? It would be even better if there were more menu items that give a sense of the New Year.

    Hospitality

    The location is good and convenient. The late-night mini curry and rooftop drink service are also nice. The concierge's attentive service is commendable. The hospitality is excellent for a Business Hotel. Amenities are limited, but there is an air purifier with a humidifying function installed.

    Silver wedding anniversary

    We decided to stay at the property on short notice to take a photo at the same location as our wedding photo for our silver wedding anniversary. The kind staff who took the photo for us was very accommodating. We also received a commemorative gift, which made for a wonderful memory. This was our second stay as it is close to our home, and we would like to use it again for another anniversary. I think it is a convenient hotel with good value for money near the station. Also, we often have the Christmas cake, which is very delicious.

    It can be said to be a sincere Hotel.

    I stayed in a single room with No Meals Included for a business trip. I chose it because it is a step above a business hotel and has a good location. In that sense, it was simple but clean and comfortable. It is connected to Kintetsu Department Store and MIO, where there are 100-yen shops and MUJI. The hotel's cafes close early, so it's better to use those places after the evening. I made several requests to the hotel, and they were kind enough to consider ways to accommodate them as much as possible, which I appreciated. I highly recommend it for those planning to use it as a stopover or for business trips. Next time, I would like to stay with meals included.

    Wakayama Station Horumon

    The Hotel is directly connected to the station, which is convenient, but from the Room, the apartment balconies are fully visible, and the windows cannot be opened, causing a feeling of suffocation. Also, since the parking lot is on the 7th floor, you have to go down to the lobby, and you also have to go up to the seventh floor when checking out, which requires taking the elevator, making it inconvenient. Many new Hotels with slightly lower prices are being built nearby, which may pose a challenge. The breakfast was very good, and I think the chef's skills are quite high. In Japanese Hotels, the price is per person, but in overseas Hotels, the price is per Room. I think it would be better to change to international standards. In a Ryokan, due to the meal arrangements, it cannot be simply said to be per Room.

    Generally comfortable

    Since I had informed them that sheet changes were unnecessary due to my Multiple Night Stay, only the towels and pajamas were exchanged. There was no issue with that, but I would have appreciated it if at least the trash in the bin had been disposed of. (This might have been because I had mentioned that Room cleaning was unnecessary. Perhaps I should have clearly communicated if I wanted the trash in the bin to be disposed of as well...)

    Always comfortable

    The staff's attention to detail is always soothing. However, it was unfortunate that the Room safe's operation was complicated, resulting in continuous errors and inability to use it. (Even after entering the PIN, it could not be registered due to errors.)

    Directly connected to the station! Excellent convenience.

    I booked this hotel near the station to attend a live event at Wakayama Big Whale. It's connected to Kintetsu, so you can enter without getting wet even on rainy days! It was a hot day, so the welcome drink in the lobby was also delicious. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety, which was delightful! I forgot my lotion, and since there wasn't any provided at the sink, I gave the amenities four stars.

    Kishu-Style Breakfast

    The breakfast buffet was excellent, letting us enjoy the flavors of Kishu. We especially enjoyed chilled rice porridge with Kinzanji miso and Kishu Nanko plums, Koya tofu, ume udon, and Arida mandarin orange juice. The homemade desserts were also delicious. The Room was quiet, so we slept soundly, and as always, the convenient location right in front of the station made our stay very comfortable.
