    The best Hotel.

    I stayed for four nights planning to fully enjoy Shiga, but due to extreme weather it poured for three days in a row and I ended up staying in the Hotel most of the time. However, because it was such a wonderful Accommodation, I truly enjoyed my Hotel stay and have no regrets at all. I was also upgraded to a Room, which was spacious, and I could really relax in the living area and the quiet bedroom. All four nights included breakfast and dinner, and I used the buffet each time; there was a great variety of dishes, everything was delicious, and I was very satisfied. In particular, I was happy to easily enjoy local specialties such as takikomi rice made with Biwa trout and grilled mackerel somen noodles. Since I couldn’t go out due to the rain, I went down to the café during cleaning time; their tea and cakes were also delicious and very satisfying. It’s also convenient that there is a convenience store that sells souvenirs as well. I would like to visit again next year. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay.

    This was my first stay. The Room was great, and I appreciated that the bathroom had a separate bathtub and washing area. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    A resort-style stay with stunning Lake Biwa views

    We thoroughly enjoyed the Lake Biwa view from our Room window. The meals were delicious, and we would like to stay again if we have the opportunity.

    I enjoyed a short trip with my grandchild.

    Although we live in Kyoto Prefecture and it’s nearby, we stayed overnight after the Michigan cruise and playing in the pool. After swimming, I had hoped there would be a large public bath, but the in-room bath had a spacious tub with a separate washing area, so it was no problem at all even with my grandchild. In fact, it felt better than a crowded public bath. Since it was during Obon, it left a great impression to see how hard all the staff worked—there was a juggler show and street-performing clowns at dinner time, and festival-style stalls where you could enjoy balloon fishing and ring toss. The meals were buffet-style with allergy labels, and not only steak and sushi but also a cotton candy stall; surprisingly, the thin soy-sauce-based ramen was delicious and an unexpected highlight. With an outstanding location next to Nionohama Nagisa Park, morning walks and the view of Lake Biwa from the window really enhanced that “mini getaway” feeling.

    The best, in one word.

    From the moment we arrived, everything was spotless—the elegant front desk staff and even a complimentary Room upgrade. The Room was more than clean enough, spacious, with a beautiful view, and the food was delicious. We were completely satisfied with everything! If we come to Shiga Prefecture again, we would definitely choose this Hotel.

    Although it was a suite room, the Facility was comparable to a Business Hotel. There were too many guests for the capacity, resulting in a one-hour wait for breakfast at the restaurant. The meal served instead in the banquet hall was chaotic, and the quality was not very good.

    A bit disappointing.

    I stayed here for the first time in 15 years. Since there is a pool, it was lively with children. The view is wonderful. However, I was shocked at how dirty the bathroom and other water areas were. The bath was covered in black mold. I understand the facilities are old, but I really hope cleaning can be improved. Even when using the hair dryer at the sink, the outlet was loose and kept coming out, and the hair dryer started to smell burnt, which scared me. I like ReFa hair dryers, so that was disappointing. The Room air conditioner also hadn’t been cleaned and was covered in dust; when we entered, the air felt bad so we turned on the air purifier right away. I’ve been coming here since I was little and would like to continue staying here, so I would be happy if these issues could be improved. Since we have small children, cleanliness in a Hotel is very important to us, so this stay did not meet our expectations.

    Great.

    It was convenient and easy to access from Otsu. The view was great as well. The bathroom was clean, which was very helpful. We traveled with two infants, and when we asked in advance, they provided baby items for us. There were three breakfast venues, so we were able to enter without waiting.

    A comfortable Hotel to stay in.

    Staying here made me feel that Otsu is close to Kyoto and a great base for exploring the area. This was my third stay, and it’s a Hotel that still retains the best qualities of the Prince Hotel.\nThe breakfast feels freshly prepared here, and everything is very delicious.\nThe entire Hotel is clean and comfortable throughout.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    This was my first stay. The Hotel felt very spacious. The Hotel staff were also friendly and pleasant. The Room did not have the latest amenities, but a ReFa shower head and hair dryer were provided. The food was also great—I enjoyed the Chinese lunch, and the cake set in the lobby lounge as well. I think it’s ideal for families in summer. However, I felt the breakfast buffet could use a bit more variety.

    I couldn’t enjoy the meals.

    Stayed with my pregnant daughter. Although we contacted you in advance and reminded you again at dinner, there was no consideration for the appetizer, dessert, or after-dinner drink, so we could not enjoy the meal we had been looking forward to at all. I hope you will make more effort to improve.

    This is a truly wond...

    This is a truly wonderful Hotel. The service is excellent, and whenever my parents visit, we always choose to stay here. Even when we unexpectedly encountered a serious situation, the staff responded with such warmth and care. We are sincerely grateful.

    Stunning views of Lake Biwa.

    Stayed on the 27th floor. As it’s all lake-view, the view of Lake Biwa was outstanding. The bathroom also had a washing area, and featured a ReFa showerhead and a ReFa hair dryer. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of fruit. It’s a long-established Hotel, but the Facility is well maintained and didn’t feel dated.

    A spacious parking lot is one of the highlights.

    The deciding factors for my stay were the spacious parking lot and the IKYU Diamond Member benefits. The service from all staff members is very good. As I believe I wrote during my previous stay, the TV is too small. I would also like a chair with a backrest. I would be happy if the bathroom lighting were a bit brighter. The shower in the bathroom looks high-end, but the water pressure is insufficient. Water conservation is important, but still. It’s wonderful that the bathtub filling stops automatically. This is the most recommended Hotel in Otsu.

    The view is amazing.

    The view of Lake Biwa from the Hotel is wonderful, and at night the beautiful city lights are very relaxing. The Hotel itself is a bit old, but it is well cleaned and pleasant. The staff’s service is also very welcoming. Breakfast at the Japanese restaurant was delicious. I would like to stay again.

    The hospitality and thoughtful attention to detail are wonderful.

    We have stayed here several times, mainly for special occasions. Needless to say, the view of Lake Biwa from the Room is beautiful, and every time we visit, we are deeply impressed by the staff’s wonderful hospitality and thoughtful care. Some of the Facility fixtures around the water areas feel old—for example, the washbasin is small and can be a bit inconvenient—but their attentiveness more than makes up for it. Not only the lobby staff, but also those in the tea lounge and restaurant consistently show warm hospitality in many moments. We will definitely return again.

    I saw an amazing sunrise at my favorite Hotel.

    This is my favorite Hotel, and I have stayed here many times. The location overlooking Lake Biwa always relaxes me. I experienced a wonderful sunrise for the first time, so I posted this Review. It was only from 4:00 to 5:00 a.m., but it was an unforgettable experience.

    Because it is a high...

    Because it is a high-rise building, the view was great. The restaurant is also on the 38th floor, and we enjoyed our meal in a pleasant atmosphere. The service etiquette was excellent—full marks. We would like to stay here again.

    Satisfied with breakfast

    We chose a Japanese restaurant for the breakfast venue. It used to be a set-meal style, but it is now a Japanese and Western buffet with a wide variety of side dishes. The bread was also delicious. The guest room had a great view, and the amenities provided were high quality.

    After the fireworks festival...

    I stayed here to attend the Lake Biwa fireworks festival. The view of Lake Biwa from my Room on the 34th floor was wonderful. Having the bath and toilet separate was also very convenient. At breakfast, I was looking forward to enjoying the view from the 37th floor, but all the blinds were down—perhaps because of the glare from the morning sun—which was disappointing. I think it would have felt quite different if even half of them had been open.

    It was a comfortable stay.

    This was our second stay. The view of Lake Biwa was wonderful, both at sunset and sunrise. Since we were traveling with a child, we really appreciated having a separate bath and toilet. We didn’t use the dining options, but there’s a convenience store on the first floor and a supermarket nearby, which was very convenient. Above all, our elementary school daughter loved the Room layout and the comfortable bed and is already saying she wants to come back!

    Relax and unwind after a long time.

    I remembered how impressed I was when I stayed here with friends when I was younger, so this time I stayed on my own. I was on the 15th floor and had a beautiful panoramic view of Lake Biwa. The buffet offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, and I was very satisfied. It was my first time in a while to truly relax.

    It’s cold!

    When the outside temperature was 15°C, the centrally controlled air conditioning was set too low, so it was cold and I couldn’t relax. The setting should be adjusted according to the temperature. One more concern: there is a smoking area on the way from the parking lot to the main entrance, and it smelled very strong, so I didn’t like having to pass by it. I would like the smoking area to be relocated. The view of Lake Biwa from the Room was amazing, but these issues were disappointing. Mixed feelings.
