    Reliable Accommodation

    Using a card key for the elevator is inconvenient. The Room is clean. Amenities are good. Not being able to watch YouTube on the TV is a personal downside.

    A well-maintained Hotel in the center of Kumamoto.

    Located in the bustling tram street of central Kumamoto City, the guest rooms are quiet. The curtains have high blackout performance, allowing for a restful sleep until the alarm goes off. It was an affordable Plan for weekday business use, but parking costs ¥2,200 per night, which felt slightly expensive. Although initially a bit hard to find, the basement level 2 parking area offers spacious spots once you get there. Security guards and staff are always present at both the main and back entrances of the Hotel, discreetly monitoring comings and goings for added safety. The guest room cleaning was generally satisfactory with a sense of cleanliness; however, non-packaged slippers placed on a shelf reflected cultural differences in cleaning practices. Other than that minor point, everything else was well-maintained.

    Does not tarnish the name of JAL.

    I stayed at this city-style hotel with modest expectations, hoping for everything to be "average," but I was pleasantly surprised in every way. While I don't usually enjoy wandering around inside buildings, the hospitality of the hotel staff I encountered on various occasions was exceptional. True to its name, this accommodation lived up to the reputation of Nikko. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Enjoy Breakfast

    A comfortable accommodation just steps away from the bustling downtown or accessible by city tram. Reliable service and facilities ensure a worry-free stay. The breakfast was delightful. Although I always stick to the same American breakfast as my routine, the quality of ingredients stood out, making it enjoyable. The pastries, in particular, added a touch of richness to the morning experience. For those opting for Japanese-style breakfast, it seems there is an even greater variety available.

    I felt reassured.

    Every year, I visit Kumamoto to see fireflies and stay overnight in the city after returning from Kikuchi. However, I had trouble finding a good hotel until now. This time, I stayed at a reliable city hotel and finally experienced a proper Hotel in Kumamoto. The service was kind and excellent. The location was also great with a wonderful view of Kumamoto Castle.

    Stable JAL

    I was considering other hotels but chose the reliable Hotel Nikko, and it was absolutely the right decision. Thank you for applying the One Harmony benefits. As per your guidance, the illuminated Kumamoto Castle was truly magical. Seeing the castle from the window reminded me of Hotel Nikko in Himeji (though it feels farther away there compared to Kumamoto). Last time, I enjoyed breakfast so much that I looked forward to it again this time. It exceeded my expectations—especially the bread and sweets were delicious. The Japanese breakfast at Benkei was also excellent. Unfortunately, due to rain, I couldn’t explore Kumamoto Castle under restoration this time, but I plan to stay at Hotel Nikko again on my next visit and see the castle then. The amenities were very well-equipped; however, one suggestion would be if pajamas could be two-piece sets instead.

    The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options.

    The room was average. The slippers seemed like disposable ones, but they were not in a bag, so I didn't feel like wearing them. Breakfast included local dishes and had a wide variety. The selection of drinks was also extensive. Although it requires taking a bus from Kumamoto Station, the hotel is conveniently located right in front of the bus stop.

    Front Desk Service

    During my first stay, I couldn't locate the outdoor smoking area. I asked at the front desk and followed their directions, but I still couldn't find it. When I returned to confirm again, a lady from the front desk kindly accompanied me to the location. Thank you for your warm service.

    Thank you for accommodating us with a late check-in and early check-out without dinner. The Facility had a luxurious atmosphere, and all the staff were kind, sophisticated, and made our Hotel stay very pleasant. From our Room, we could see the beautifully lit-up Kumamoto Castle, which was a delightful experience for us as a couple who didn’t have time to go sightseeing. Special thanks to the Hotel staff near the entrance for their warm and courteous service!

    No blind spots.

    After about two years, I was once again soothed by the consistently refined hospitality. The Room I stayed in was recently renovated with a "Neo-Japonism" design, featuring uniquely arranged window frames and a calm monochrome-themed interior. The bathroom with a washing area and the bed lights allowing delicate adjustments created an incredibly comfortable Room. The staff's service showed subtle attentiveness without being overly formal, exuding "first-class hospitality" from everyone—truly flawless and impressive. Maintaining this level must be challenging, but I sincerely hope it continues to be upheld.

    We love Kumamoto.

    The firmness of the bed and pillows, the Chinoiserie-inspired lidded coffee cup, and the Room's odorless environment with excellent temperature and air conditioning made for a comfortable stay. The coffee provided in the Room was exceptionally delicious when brewed by my family. Kumamoto's water is indeed tasty; I drank it straight from the tap. The Hotel is centrally located, within walking distance to the castle. Its convenience allowed me to enjoy a late meal with local friends at a restaurant tucked away from Kamitori Street. Above all, the staff at this Hotel provided outstanding service. Sipping coffee while reading the Kumamoto Nichinichi Shimbun was pure bliss.

    A very courteous Hotel

    This was my first time staying in Kumamoto for a personal matter. The staff at the hotel were all very kind and provided exceptional service, which left a great impression on me. Among all the accommodations I have stayed at so far, this was the best. Thanks to this experience, I was able to relax and forget about my usual busy life. Before my stay, I was even informed about a nearby ramen shop with delicious food, which I had the chance to visit. Although I stayed alone, there were two sets of amenities such as water bottles and face towels provided, which was more than sufficient; however, there were no bath towels available so I managed with face towels instead. On my way to the hotel, I could see Kumamoto Castle nearby. If I have another opportunity to visit Kumamoto in the future, I'd love to explore Kumamoto Castle as part of sightseeing. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options as well. Thank you very much!

I deeply appreciate the preparation of a hanger rack, hangers, and a full-length mirror for my daughter's graduation ceremony attire, which allowed us to have a smooth day. My husband was delighted with the view of Kumamoto Castle and the mountains from our Room window, and we are grateful for your thoughtful arrangements. Honestly, while the bathtub and washing area were spacious and made me want to stay again next time, the water pressure in the shower was gentle and made it slightly difficult to use. As always, the smiles of your staff members and their smooth service were very pleasant. Thank you very much!

    The perfect place to stay in Kumamoto!

    Convenient bus and train access from the front of the hotel. Shopping and dining options are easily accessible near the hotel. Located close to Kumamoto Castle, offering an ideal location with everything you need. I have stayed here several times. I enjoyed a delicious and relaxing meal with a local friend at Benkei on the 7th floor. The staff's service was impeccable as always, making for a pleasant and satisfying stay.

    Highly recommended for your stay in Kumamoto!

    I stayed for one night. The location is very convenient, right in front of Tsuruya Department Store. I was assigned a Room with a view of Kumamoto Castle and enjoyed the illuminated castle during my stay. The Room was very clean, well-equipped with amenities, and the staff's service was excellent. Breakfast featured Kumamoto specialties and exceeded expectations in both quality and variety. I would love to stay here again if I have the chance.

    I want to see Kumamoto Castle.

    At the end of the trip, we planned to visit Kumamoto Castle. Perhaps because we informed the Hotel in advance, we were impressed upon entering the Room. We could see Kumamoto Castle, and the courtyard of the nearby church seemed like the garden of the Room. At night, we asked the front desk for a recommendation for delicious Kumamoto ramen nearby, and they kindly guided us. It was delicious. Despite being in a convenient location, we were able to spend our time quietly.

    I could see the castle.

    Thank you for discussing various matters with me over the phone in advance and for the room upgrade. However, there were a few concerns. There was a helicopter-like area in front of the ceiling in the Room, and it was quite dusty. Since it was right under the bed, I was a bit troubled. The closet is small, and with the trouser press, it's difficult to hang suits and clothes for two people. Since it was advertised that the first drink is 1000 yen, I went to the lounge bar on the first floor, but I was guided to a seat where it was difficult to call the staff, and after looking through the menu, I was not impressed. The lounge is right behind the area with the waiting sofas at the front desk, and it doesn't seem like a place to serve alcohol. I think it's more suitable for cafe use. If you want it to be used as a bar, more effort should be made, and I would have liked the staff to come around properly to take orders. It was my first time staying at a Nikko Hotel since Osaka, and I heard it was a good Hotel in Kumamoto. Even locals in Kumamoto said, "Are you staying at Nikko? That's great," so maybe I had too high expectations. There is the Tsuruya Department Store right in front, a commercial Facility next door, and even a Starbucks. There is also a convenience store behind the Hotel, which is good for shopping, but if you want to eat, there are more options in the Shimotori area, which is a bit further away. The staff's response was very good. Thank you for your assistance.

    The location is excellent.

    The service from the Hotel staff was excellent. You can see the illuminated castle from the Room, and it was beautiful and relaxing. The location is great, as you can walk to Kumamoto Castle, and there are department stores and various shops across from the Hotel, making it very convenient. Since Kumamoto Castle was the purpose, it was a good choice to stay here. This is my second time visiting Kumamoto Castle. Last time, I stayed at a Hotel directly connected to Kumamoto Station, so I needed to use the tram for transportation. If the castle is your main focus, this is a recommended Hotel.

    Very good Hotel!

    When staying in Kumamoto, I always choose the Nikko Hotel. You can relax and unwind. The bath is a relaxing type. For shopping, there is the Tsuruya Department Store in front of the hotel, a shopping street next to it, and several convenience stores nearby. There is also a bus stop and a tram station in front of the hotel, making transportation convenient. From the room window, you can see Kumamoto Castle, and it's within walking distance. I look forward to staying again when visiting Kumamoto.

    Delicious Benkei Breakfast

    It was my first time in a while staying at Hotel Nikko Kumamoto. I stayed with my 85-year-old mother, and I was satisfied with everything, from the courteous service at the front desk to the well-cleaned room. My mother especially enjoyed the breakfast at Benkei, where she chose the porridge, saying it was very delicious. This time, our room was right off the elevator on the top floor, which was very helpful for my elderly mother with a bad back, as it reduced her burden. Thank you very much.

    Convenient in the city

    It was my first time in Kumamoto in a while. The room was small but comfortable. The breakfast buffet was not crowded, and I enjoyed it without any issues. I don't have any major complaints, but I would like to have a fitness facility. I'm not sure if this is classified as a city hotel, but especially for Western guests, the usage rate of fitness facilities is high, and I always check for the presence of a fitness center myself. Although management and maintenance can be challenging, I hope that hotels above a certain level will have one, even if it's small.
