    A Comfortable Hotel

    I always stay here. Even when I checked in late, the parking guidance was courteous and reassuring. I often arrive tired, but every time I’m surprised by how soundly I sleep. I will stay again.

    First-class hospitality

    The property is a bit dated, but the service is top-notch. I stayed in another area last time and was disappointed by superficial service, but here everything was handled smoothly and stress-free, making my stay truly comfortable. The older Facility is a drawback, but the surrounding downtown area is lively and fun, and there are plenty of Onsen nearby. I really appreciated the warm, natural hospitality. It reminded me why JAL has such a great reputation. It also reaffirmed that what matters most in a Hotel is the service, not just the building itself.

    JAL Hotel

    Sixty-three years ago, I left Oita and worked on construction projects across Japan. This time, my older brother passed away, and I was to attend his funeral. Hoping to ease my grief even a little, I looked for a Hotel for one night and found the JAL Oita Hotel. Without hesitation, I made a Reservation for the Room that felt best to me. It was exactly what I had hoped for. Although I woke up from time to time, I was able to rest well, and the next day I attended the funeral feeling calm and comfortable, seeing my brother off in peace. I spent a truly pleasant night at this Hotel operated by JAL—just as I had trusted it would be. I will be working for some time longer, but when traveling in the future, I plan to stay at JAL Group Hotels.

    To the Hotel Staff

    I injured my leg and asked the security staff if I could park my bicycle in the multi-level parking area on the wall side, but I was told that only the two-tier parking racks were available today. While I was unsure what to do, they contacted the Hotel for me, and I was allowed to park at the front entrance parking area. Even though you were busy, the Hotel staff were very kind, and I truly appreciated it. Thank you in advance for your continued support.

    Bathroom curtain

    The curtain is thin and short in length, and the shower sprays in a mist, causing the curtain to sway due to air pressure. Everything else was good.

    My first Multiple Night Stay!

    I travel all over the whole country, but this was my first time doing a Multiple Night Stay of three nights at the same Hotel. The Room was cleaned exactly at the time I requested, so I was able to go out as scheduled. This Hotel is close to downtown, making it very convenient for dining and shopping. I could visit my favorite izakaya at a different location every night. I had a wonderful time on my last trip of the year!

    A relaxing Hotel with excellent hospitality

    Stayed for a multiple night stay from December 15th for 2 nights. Although I made separate reservations for each night, I was able to relax as the room remained the same thanks to their consideration. The Executive Room was spacious enough, and the entire floor was quiet and comfortable. The mist shower was excellent. I would definitely like to use this accommodation again when staying in Oita City.

    Business Hotel level

    I have stayed here over 20 times and have had several meals at the Hotel. It is located in the tallest building in Oita, offering great views, and the cleanliness is impeccable, making it very comfortable. However, the bathroom is a basic unit bath, which gives off more of a Business Hotel vibe. Since Oita is known as an Onsen prefecture, I was hoping for a large public bath with Onsen facilities.

    Comfortable Hotel

    Slightly dated but a high-ranking Hotel with a comfortable stay. Additionally, access to the arcade from the second floor of the Hotel was very convenient.

    Parking is inconvenient.

    The parking is inconvenient despite the distance from the station. In the bathroom, possibly due to air circulation or air entering through door gaps, the shower curtain swayed and clung to my body, which was uncomfortable. Perhaps I should have stayed in a better Room.

    A Rainy-Season Trip to Oita

    It was a rainy trip to Oita during the rainy season. The Hotel is very conveniently located, close to the shopping arcade, dining area, and Oita Station. What’s more, the covered arcades are connected, so we could walk around without even carrying an umbrella. There is a welcome drink area in the Hotel lobby (15:00–20:00), which you can use before and after going out. We enjoyed coffee and wine. The building itself feels somewhat aged (about 30 years old?).

    Clean and well-equipped with necessary amenities, it was greatly appreciated by business travelers. I will use it again.

    Facility

    The water heating Facility is an older type (requires mixing hot and cold water to adjust the temperature), which was a bit inconvenient to use. The air conditioner is also old (but it worked fine). There were no issues with the staff's service. It was very accommodating for families with children, which was extremely helpful.

    I have been visiting Oita more frequently and experiencing various hotels. Although it is a bit dated, this hotel offered reliable quality and a sense of security. I wasn't particularly recommended to join, but I signed up for One Harmony for future stays. However, I slightly regret it as there was an accommodation plan with membership benefits.

    I was surprised by the low level of cleanliness.

    It was my first stay in over a decade. While I understand that the deterioration of the Facility is inevitable and did not mind it, the level of cleanliness was the worst among the Okura and Nikko group properties I have stayed at. The area around the amenities was covered in dust, feathers from duvets or pillows were scattered on the floor and outside the entrance door, the bathroom had a sewer-like odor, and the window frames were soaked with condensation—there were countless issues that left me astonished. I immediately contacted the front desk, and the subsequent response to my complaint was very courteous, with the odor in the bathroom disappearing after cleaning. However, if these issues can be addressed immediately, shouldn't they be resolved before guests check in? The cleaning process delayed my plans to go out, which was also an inconvenience. On the other hand, the Japanese restaurant where I had dinner was excellent in both taste and service, and I felt I would like to visit again. However, unless the cleanliness of the Room improves, I would hesitate to stay again. I am sharing this feedback with the hope of seeing improvements in the future. I sincerely hope this will be taken into consideration.

    The restaurant on the top floor was excellent.

    I have always wanted to dine on the top floor here, but I had given up due to allergies. However, I was very pleased that they accommodated me even though I made the reservation the day before. Perhaps because the staff understands the image of a high-end restaurant, when a party ended somewhere and someone came over here drunk, I had a bad feeling that the atmosphere would be ruined. But I was relieved when a female staff member hurriedly stopped them with a loud "Sir!!". A young male staff member also managed to explain the meal without disrupting the atmosphere until the end. The attitude of the restaurant staff here was truly wonderful. I am grateful for the view from the glass-walled top floor and the staff. The main meat dish was also very delicious. Thank you for your hospitality.
