    Quiet Time

    I stayed at a Japanese Ryokan for the first time in a while. The view of Matsushima Bay from the room was like a painting, and it was so quiet that I could truly relax. I was genuinely amazed by the wonderful hospitality. Everyone at the accommodation was very polite, and my two-night stay passed in no time with such a refreshing feeling. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    An accommodation you'll want to visit again...

    The warm hospitality, including the welcome, guidance to the room, and meal service, was excellent. The small decorative items throughout the accommodation created a pleasant atmosphere beyond just the room. The private use of the bath was also a highlight. Although it was mostly cloudy or rainy during our stay, the view and scenery from the room were stunning! Dinner was served in a private and serene space, which made it even more enjoyable as it was incredibly delicious—this greatly enhanced our satisfaction with the accommodation. We also appreciated being provided with rice balls made from leftover seasoned rice for a late-night snack—a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was served in a restaurant with an ocean view; seating arrangements ensured privacy and allowed us to enjoy our meal peacefully. The breakfast itself was high-quality and delicious as well. Overall, this is an exceptionally satisfying and relaxing accommodation for adults seeking tranquility. We hope to visit again someday to enjoy clear weather views!

    I used this service for my father's birthday.

    Located just outside Matsushima, the journey to the destination was exciting. The art pieces subtly placed throughout were tasteful, the view of Matsushima from the room was stunning, and the rose bath in the open-air Onsen made for an elegant experience. The meals were all carefully prepared and delicious, though there was so much sashimi that we couldn’t finish it all, which was a bit unfortunate. The staff member who helped celebrate my father’s special occasion did a wonderful job and made him very happy. The bath and lounge had a charming atmosphere reminiscent of an aristocratic Western-style mansion—absolutely lovely. With checkout at 12 PM, we were able to enjoy a relaxing morning soaking in the Onsen and spent quality time with family in complete comfort. We look forward to visiting again!     It was excellent.

    We stayed for a multiple night stay with my one-year-old daughter and husband. The most impressive part was the meals. We had dinner and breakfast twice each, and the menu was changed every time, making each meal delicious and delightful. The beautifully presented dishes were exciting even before eating them. From appetizers to desserts, everything was absolutely wonderful and tasty. Since we have a baby, we initially gave up on using the large public bath, but on the second night, we noticed that there were bathing chairs and changing spaces prepared for children (apologies for noticing late). Although my daughter is still in diapers so we only used the shower, she enjoyed her first experience in a big bath very much. All of the staff members were always smiling warmly, providing such pleasant hospitality that I felt truly glad to have chosen this accommodation. It’s an accommodation that made me genuinely want to visit again! As it’s not easy for us to travel often, it may take some time before our next visit; however, we will definitely come back as a family again someday. Thanks to everyone here, this trip became one that deepened our family bond even more. Thank you so much!

    It was a Ryokan that makes you want to visit again.

    It was a wonderful Ryokan. I visited with high expectations, and it met them perfectly. The Onsen and meals were both excellent. There were drinks available in the large public bath, and the Room had underfloor heating, which was a nice touch. The person who attended to us was young but provided clear explanations and used polite language, which was appreciated. It's a bit regrettable that I couldn't express my gratitude at the end, so I would like to take this opportunity to do so here. As for the meals, the sashimi was delicious. Of course, every other dish was also tasty and impressive as expected. It is a Ryokan that makes me want to visit again, and I'm glad I chose Shouan (Shouan). Thank you very much!

    Thank you very much.

    We stayed here for his birthday trip. We took a taxi from the station, and even the taxi driver spoke highly of the place, so we had high expectations. The property is spacious with breathtaking views, and the meals were excellent. We would love to stay here again.

    I had a very relaxing stay. The food was full of seasonal flavors and wonderfully crafted with great attention to detail. The portions were just right, allowing us to enjoy every bite until the end. If possible, I would appreciate it if you could consider implementing a gender rotation system for the baths.

    Overall, it was good, but

    I couldn't make a reservation during the Obon period, so my visit was delayed by a year, but I was warmly welcomed by the manager with a "Welcome back," which made for a pleasant start. The dinner was delicious, with fresh sashimi platters and grilled dishes with added abalone, enjoyed in a private room. The room was the same as last time, Matsukasa. It was quiet, and the reception room had floor heating, providing a comfortable and healing experience of the extraordinary. Overall, it was a good time, but there was something disappointing this time. Despite being asked about the breakfast time and informing them, when we arrived, there was no staff present, and we had to wait for a while until a staff member came out from the kitchen. I felt that some ingenuity, such as placing a call bell or buzzer, might be necessary. I also noticed others who were kept waiting in the same way. Additionally, during checkout, while it was nice to be seen off to the parking lot, I felt sad when a man quickly walked away after I said, "It's okay now," thinking we might have kept them waiting. There are preparations like loading luggage into the car and taking off coats, so even if we are seen off, there might be times when we keep you waiting. I believe the staff are busy as well, so perhaps it would be better to limit the send-off to the entrance. I would appreciate it if you could consider this, as I would like to leave with a good impression and a pleasant feeling until the end.
