Your First Trip to Shizuoka
This was my first trip to Shizuoka Prefecture. I saw Nippondaira Hotel in photos and thought it looked wonderful, so I made a Reservation! The photos of Mt. Fuji were amazing, but I’d heard it can be hard to see in summer, and the forecast was cloudy, so I didn’t expect much. However, from the morning of the second day, Mt. Fuji appeared beautifully. It stayed visible all day, and we were able to enjoy an incredible view. The moment we arrived at the Hotel, I was moved by how beautiful the lobby was—and the view through the large windows was stunning. The Room was also very spacious and spotless, with an unbeatable view, and I truly fell in love with Nippondaira Hotel. A staff member told us that Mt. Fuji is especially clear in January and February, so we’ll definitely visit again. It was my first time in Shizuoka, and I discovered there are so many delicious foods—tuna, whitebait (shirasu), sakura shrimp, and more! On the way home we ate eel in Hamamatsu—Shizuoka exceeded all expectations! Nippondaira Hotel was absolutely amazing!!! Thank you so much!!!

It was a wonderful Hotel.
As soon as you enter the Room, you’re greeted by a large window.\nThe view of the sky and Mt. Fuji, Shimizu town, the harbor, and the beautifully maintained green lawn is stunning—truly unforgettable.\nMy husband, who loves photography, was delighted and couldn’t stop taking pictures.\nDinner was French cuisine, and everything was delicious.\nThis is a Hotel we would love to visit again.

As expected from this dream Hotel!
We were speechless at the breathtaking view from the atrium. We were thrilled to be able to enjoy both dinner and breakfast there as well. Seeing the spacious garden, my family asked, “Is this a golf course?”—it made us smile. Everything was wonderful, from the entrance and walls to the art pieces, and every staff member provided exceptional hospitality. It made us feel that this was more than a trip—the stay itself truly mattered. A cute little bird came chirping right up to our balcony, and we watched it for a while. We will definitely come again.

Very family-friendly for guests with children.
We stayed with our one-and-a-half-year-old child. The dining area always has kids’ chairs, and toys were also available to borrow. The scenery was so breathtaking that it felt like time stood still. Both the Room and the entire building were spotless and very clean. We would love to stay again.

In the evening, enjoy food while watching fireworks.
We booked an additional Room for two on the ocean-side balcony. I can’t recommend the parking-lot-side Room. The ocean side was amazing. Dinner was delicious French cuisine while watching fireworks right in front of us. I’d like to visit again.

It was a bit disappointing.
This was my first visit. The Facility and the guest room were excellent, and I had a very comfortable stay. It was also wonderful that two types of pajamas were provided. However, the meals were a bit disappointing. I chose the French course, but the main fish and meat dishes were... Since Shimizu Port is nearby, I expected the fish dish to be more flavorful, so it was disappointing. The sauce tasted bland, and the fish itself wasn’t fatty and was rather dry. I didn’t leave any food, but it seemed that many guests at other tables did. There is room for improvement in the main dishes, though everything up to the soup was delicious. Breakfast was very good. Needless to say, the location as a Hotel with a Mt. Fuji view is simply outstanding. It’s a Hotel that’s far away and hard to visit often, but I’m glad I finally made it—it became a great memory for me.

An excellent Hotel in every way
We stayed for two nights with three generations, and everyone was thoroughly satisfied—not only with the magnificent views from the lobby and our Room, but also with the wonderful hospitality and delicious meals. The staff’s attentive, warm service and smiles were especially memorable, and we felt a gentle, clear, pleasant atmosphere throughout the Hotel. Shizuoka has many sightseeing spots, including a history museum that children can enjoy and Shizuoka Municipal Nihondaira Zoo (this zoo has many thoughtful touches and is truly recommended), so every generation can have a great time. After check-out, we also went to Shimizu Port to enjoy dining and shopping. We visited several attractions including Toshogu Shrine, but there was so much to see that next time we would like to stay at this Hotel again and take more time to fully enjoy both the places we visited this time as well. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Spectacular View
The view from the Hotel, including Mt. Fuji, was stunning—especially the beautiful changes in the sky’s colors before dawn. The Room was spotless and felt very clean, with plenty of towels, loungewear, and amenities. Even without a large public bath, the Room was so comfortable that I didn’t miss it at all. The bathroom in the Room was spacious, the hot water flow was strong, and the tub filled quickly; I was able to relax with the bath salts provided. The restaurant meals were better than expected, and I felt the prices were reasonable. Overall, it was a highly satisfying stay, and it’s a Hotel I’d like to stop by again even just for a meal or tea.

It was great.
Due to the weather, we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, but the setting made us feel it would be a spectacular view when visible. On the other hand, there were fewer tourists, which may have made it more relaxing. We’d like to stay at Nippondaira Hotel again and try for a better view next time. The meals were delicious as well.

Breathtaking Views and Unforgettable Moments
Stayed on August 9 I was impressed by everything—the view from the Room, the Hotel’s overall location, and the attentive service from all the staff. In the evening, there was also a fireworks display right in front of us, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The next morning, Mount Fuji appeared as well, and we were able to take in the breathtaking scenery! Breakfast was delicious too, enjoyed while looking at Mount Fuji.

We had a very pleasant summer vacation.
I stayed on a 1-night, 2-day Plan with dinner and breakfast included. It happened to be during the Summer Garden period, and when I went to the restaurant at dinner time, the staff told me that chairs were set up in the garden so I could step out during the meal to take a look. Unexpectedly, I was able to sit back and watch fireworks in the spacious garden, which became a wonderful memory. Every dish was delicious, and all staff were courteous—I felt this Hotel offers excellent service. Unfortunately, it was quite cloudy so I couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, but I was still very satisfied. I would love to visit again.

A Wonderful Hotel You’ll Always Remember
It was a wonderful Hotel! We made a Reservation for two Rooms. Throughout our stay, we truly felt the hospitality—our Rooms were arranged close to each other, and the luggage we had sent ahead was placed in our Room in advance. The restaurant dinner we booked through the lounge was delicious and an excellent value, and the morning buffet was great as well—the sakura shrimp was especially tasty. It’s not an easy place for us to visit since we live far away, but we would love to stay again.

The Best View
I stayed here as a birthday gift because you can see Mt. Fuji while soaking in the bath. The forecast called for rain, but the clouds cleared only in the morning, and I was able to see Mt. Fuji. Dinner was just the right amount and very delicious. There was also a Mt. Fuji-shaped pumpkin, which looked great as well.

Enjoy Nihondaira together.
We gathered for the first time as a group of eight, including our grandchildren, staying in two Rooms in our favorite Japanese-style Room. Since it was summer, we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji. We were very disappointed, because until now we had always been able to see Mt. Fuji morning and night even when it rained—probably because we stayed in autumn or winter. Next time, we’ll get together during a season when we can see Mt. Fuji. Thank you for taking care of us. We had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

The Best Hotel
On the first day of our 2-night, 3-day family trip, we stayed at the Japanira Hotel we had always dreamed of. We were supposed to be able to see Mt. Fuji from our Room, but unfortunately we couldn’t see it at all despite the clear weather. Still, the Japanese kaiseki dinner was beautifully presented and delicious, and the freshly made waffles and pancakes at the breakfast buffet were amazing. Next year, we’re planning to make a Reservation for three Rooms for a 60th birthday celebration! Between September and October, which month is more likely to have a view of Mt. Fuji?

Although it offers almost no Facilities, it is an excellent Accommodation.
An outstanding location and clean Rooms. Ideally, it would be nice to have amenities such as an Onsen or a gym, but if you think of it as a guesthouse, this was a high-quality Accommodation with one of the best locations you could ask for.

Highly satisfied
Because we requested minimal walking for an elderly guest, they prepared a Room right in front of the elevator. The Room had floor-to-ceiling glass, offering an openness we had never experienced before. Unfortunately, due to the weather we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, but the sunset, night view, and sunrise were beautiful, and we all said we’d like to come again when Mt. Fuji is visible. Both the Room and our seating at meals were spacious and comfortable, and together with the service we were completely satisfied. When we visit this area again, we will definitely stay here.

It was very relaxing.
Although it was unfortunately cloudy at check-in, Mount Fuji welcomed us like a ukiyo-e print. From the Hotel terrace, we enjoyed an even more breathtaking view than expected. The room was comfortable, and all the staff were kind and made us feel at ease. Next time, I’d love to stay at this Hotel again to see Mount Fuji in winter.

The exquisite cuisine was outstanding.
We visited again looking forward to the exquisite cuisine and delicious local sake from Shizuoka, and we were very satisfied and able to relax. This time, we chose the Japanese-style breakfast for the first time, and it was also excellent. If I may make just one request: the meat for this trip’s teppan-yaki on a ceramic plate was extremely fatty, and for people our age it was a bit too rich to fully enjoy. Last time it had more lean meat and was truly delicious, so that was a little disappointing. If possible, we would appreciate a leaner cut such as round or tenderloin. Please consider this. In any case, not only the food but also the Room at Nippondaira Hotel has an outstanding view and is wonderfully calming, so we like it very much. We would like to visit again in a different season. Thank you for your hospitality.

Heartwarming hospitality
The staff provided exceptionally courteous service, and I was able to enjoy a comfortable stay throughout. I also truly appreciated that the Hotel kindly held flowers for a gift in advance, which gave me peace of mind on the day. When I requested an additional breakfast at short notice, they accommodated me willingly without any hesitation, for which I am very grateful. Although the weather was unfortunately not great this time, I still had a wonderful time. Next time, I would love to visit on a sunny day and enjoy the beautiful scenery as well. Thank you very much.

True to its name as ...
True to its name as a “Scenic Art Museum,” the view from the Room was wonderful, and it felt very comfortable. With the Shuttle Service to the ropeway station, we were also able to visit Kunozan. In the evening, we enjoyed exceptionally delicious sushi and local sake at the sushi restaurant. We also had cocktails in the upper lounge while taking in the night view and loved the beautiful setting. The staff were efficient and attentive, making our stay very pleasant. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

We stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
The panoramic view of Mt. Fuji, Suruga Bay, and the cityscape of Shimizu was breathtaking and truly one of a kind. The French dinner at night and the breakfast buffet were both very satisfying. There is a direct bus from Shizuoka Station, so access was convenient. Shuttle Service to the Kunozan ropeway station was also available, which allowed us to visit Toshogu Shrine as well. All of the staff were kind and helpful. I had a wonderful time with my wife.

The stunning view was truly soothing!
We stayed here for our first trip in a while, for a cousins’ gathering. The view was so wonderful it completely swept away the everyday hustle and bustle. What a luxury—because the weather was often cloudy, we didn’t get to see Mt. Fuji very much, but sharing the unobstructed panoramic scenery with family was priceless. By design, the view from the living area is prioritized above all else. Because of the Room layout, the bathroom was set further inside and did not have a window; however, there was also a washing area, and we were able to relax and enjoy a calm soak. There is no large public bath, but since we’re not the type to take long baths anyway, some of our group even said it was easier this way—no need to move back and forth like at a large public bath after bathing—and I agreed: this works too! After all, this place is all about “view first.” The meals were delicious wherever we ate, and we could really feel the richness of Shizuoka’s local farm-to-table offerings. Since we stayed on weekdays, the price for two meals included felt very reasonable in today’s climate. We sincerely appreciate the chef’s efforts. The open atrium in the dining restaurant also felt grand and spacious; overall, both inside and outside our Accommodation Room(s), we could constantly enjoy an incredible sense of openness. In one corner of the lobby, we were able to admire an impressive pine bonsai tree. It made us feel—elegantly yet deeply—the spirit this Hotel once had when His Majesty visited long ago. The Hotel staff also felt natural and pleasant. This breathtaking panorama stretching out below us—truly one of a kind here—made our cousins’ gathering especially memorable. My five stars are entirely because of that overwhelming view. After checking in once, they kindly provided Shuttle Service to Kuno-zan Ropeway station, which helped us tremendously. The Shuttle Service to Shizuoka Station was also extremely helpful. This is a Hotel I’d love to return to again with new members! Thank you very much!

Nihondaira Hotel
I had heard this Hotel offered spectacular views, but it exceeded my expectations. Rather than simply being blessed with nature, I felt the Hotel’s design and Facilities truly enhanced the scenery. Because I made a last-minute Reservation and checked in late, the Japanese restaurant and sushi counter were fully booked, which was disappointing. However, the Garden Lounge’s “Chef’s Recommended Dish of the Day” was outstanding. The other dishes—such as the appetizers and consommé soup—were also delicious. The chef came by to greet us, and it was fun chatting about various things. It is a spacious and impressive Facility with a calm atmosphere, and it is a Hotel I would definitely like to visit again.

Irresistible for Mount Fuji lovers.
I had planned to doze off while gazing at Mt. Fuji from bed, but unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate, which was disappointing. Still, the views of the town, the sea, and the lawn garden were more than enough to soothe my mind. Comparing the photo placed in our Room with the view outside the window, I kept thinking, “Mt. Fuji is right there,” and felt as if I could see it in my mind’s eye—but my husband said it was just my imagination and dozed off on the bed. The birdsong was lovely too. Check-in was earlier and check-out later than at a typical Hotel, yet everything—from the Room to the bathroom—was impeccably cleaned in such a short time. I truly admire all of your staff. The amenities were also excellent; we appreciated having individual portions of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner for each guest—it feels more reassuring than large pump bottles. Since we took baths twice (night and morning), I would have loved an extra set of bath salts. Also, I’m not good with winding mountain roads and was a bit nervous about taking the bus from the station, but your driver’s skills were outstanding and we enjoyed the ride. We’re flexible and can visit anytime—next time we’ll check the forecast before making a Reservation. We look forward to staying with you again.

We were able to relax and take our time during our Multiple Night Stay.
This was my second stay. Although I couldn’t see Mt. Fuji again this time, the lush green lawn, Shimizu Port, and the beautiful night view from the large window of the Nihondaira Twin room were wonderful.
