This was my second stay at this Hotel, and once again everything was perfect. The hospitality is outstanding, and every member of the staff is truly impeccable. The interior design is tasteful, the meals are delicious, and I highly recommend this Hotel. Having lived abroad for many years and stayed at many top-class Hotels around the world, Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel is one of my favorites.

As last year, my husband and I stayed again this year. The cleanliness of the facilities, the thoughtful care from the staff, and above all the meals were outstanding! There was a wide variety, and both the quality and taste were excellent—I even found myself wishing I were younger so I could eat more. However, there is one disappointing point. We would love to visit next time as a family of three with our daughter, but when we looked into it, we couldn’t find an affordable room for three guests. As parents, we really want her to enjoy that delicious food and wonderful experience too—please consider offering reasonably priced options for three people.

Although it was the rainy season and we were concerned about the weather, we had good weather and enjoyed a comfortable one-night stay thanks to the excellent hospitality throughout the property. The meals were also delicious, with well-crafted creative dishes. We felt this is a Ryokan we would like to visit again in a different season.

I made a Reservation because I was drawn to the title of this Accommodation, and it was absolutely the right choice! This is a simple, historic Accommodation, yet it feels spotless throughout. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles from the staff, and we were very satisfied with the quality of the Onsen water. The “Taste of Local Bounty” dining menu was especially memorable—above all, being able to bite into a whole river fish from head to tail was an experience you won’t find elsewhere.

Thank you very much to everyone who assisted us! We were able to enjoy a relaxing three-day stay!

The large public bath wasn’t quite what I expected—the water was either lukewarm or too hot. I would have preferred something in between. However, thanks to that, I was able to relax in the very spacious room with a private open-air bath. I bathed 4–5 times and felt completely refreshed. The meals were reasonably tasty, and I ate my fill. I’d like to stay again.

I have stayed at TAOYA several times over the past few years. This was my first time at Kawaji Onsen, and although it was only for one night, I had a wonderful stay—the atmosphere was quiet and the meals were delicious. Some of the staff were from overseas, but everyone was very kind and provided pleasant service. It has become one of the Accommodations I would definitely like to visit again, and I will recommend it to friends. (Just one thing: there is a large stone on the bottom of the open-air bath, and at night it’s hard to see where it is, so I felt it could be a bit dangerous. For that reason, I deducted one star.)

I’ve stayed at LiVEMAX properties elsewhere, and the hot springs in Kawaji were excellent. I was a little concerned about the smell in the room’s toilet and the hallway on the way to the baths, but overall I was satisfied because the hot springs were so good. The meals were delicious as well. Thank you very much.

What we liked - Many of the dining areas are semi-private, which gave our family a nice sense of privacy. - The meal selection wasn’t huge, but it was more than satisfying, and everything we tried was delicious. We appreciated the focus on quality over flashy presentation. - Although all the staff were foreign nationals, everyone was smiling, sincere, and hardworking. It made us want to cheer them on. - Each floor had a completely different hallway interior design and furnishings, which was fun to see. - There was some flexibility at check-in and during meals, so we didn’t have to rush or wait in long lines. We really appreciated being able to move around calmly. A few minor disappointments - The air conditioning in the lobby, hallways, and elevator wasn’t very effective, so it felt hot. The lobby is large with an open atrium so that’s understandable, but the elevator was especially warm. - There were cobwebs on the ceiling near the window in our Room. We stayed as three generations of our family (parents and child), and everyone was very satisfied—we had a wonderful time together. Thank you very much.

The location and the Onsen seem to have been well designed by the company that operated it when it was built, and they are quite nice. However, it was disappointing that the Facility and courtyard were not well maintained despite their potential. The food and the staff’s service were excellent, and it is a good option in terms of reasonable pricing. I felt that many Accommodations purchased after COVID-related bankruptcies are like this, and may not last long.
