We stayed as a couple. We had been interested after seeing it on the website and social media, and our stay exceeded expectations—especially the meal at LA VIGNE DINING FÛDO, which left a lasting impression. Being able to savor dining at the Hotel at a relaxed pace made for a truly satisfying experience. The Room and interior spaces were beautifully designed, and we found the scent throughout the property and in the bath amenities very soothing. The bright Room also had a kitchen, which made it feel more like staying in a vacation home than at a Hotel. It was such a wonderful stay that we’d love to return. Highly recommended.

I was impressed by the hospitality, the in-house services, the meals, and the breathtaking scenery that looked like a painting wherever I looked. I’m truly glad I chose this Hotel for my first stay in Hakuba. Next time, I’d love to visit this Hotel again during the autumn foliage season.

The view from the Room was amazing—we could see the ski jump. It was forecast to rain from that day, but we had a brief spell of sunshine, which made us feel refreshed. There was an Onsen and an open-air bath as well, and it was very soothing. The meals were a real treat for vegetarians. It was a very relaxing one-night stay, and the Room was clean, but it was a bit disappointing that there is a step up to reach the toilet; at night, it felt like something elderly guests could easily trip over. Other than that, it was a Hotel we were fully satisfied with.

I have stayed here every summer for nearly 10 years, and it is truly a wonderful Hotel. Each time I visit, my satisfaction increases. Everywhere in the Hotel is beautiful and spotless, the hospitality is exceptional, and every dish is a delightful surprise. I would like to stay here in other seasons as well.

We stayed at this Hotel because it is close to the gondola for trekking at Hakuba Happo-One. The interior was simply charming, and we relaxed on the lobby sofas in the evening—the high ceilings made it feel like an overseas Hotel. Many of the staff were from abroad, but everyone was friendly and provided excellent service, making our stay very pleasant. We visited in summer this time, and would love to come back in winter as well.

Because it’s built on a hill with no obstructions, the open-air bath offered an amazing front-row view of the Northern Alps. However, since it was cloudy, we unfortunately couldn’t see the stars at night or the sunrise in the morning from the rooftop. We stayed for one night on our way back from Kamikochi, so we didn’t have much time to explore Hakuba, which was a bit disappointing. We’d definitely like to visit again.

It’s been eight years since our last stay, and this was our first visit back in a while. We returned because it’s one of our favorites, but here are a few things we noticed for next time: - We would like one more face towel at the washbasin in the Room, since two of us are staying. - Toiletries such as lotion are provided, but my wife said she would like emulsion/moisturizer as well. - A few dishes tasted quite salty to us—such as the breakfast soup, grilled salmon, and pickles. We had heard that Nagano Prefecture has been reducing salt recently. Despite these comments, this remains our favorite Accommodation thanks to the excellent hospitality of the staff. Thank you for taking care of us. We will visit again.

In conclusion, this Accommodation offered outstanding value for money! I had made separate one-night Reservations for different Rooms, but when availability opened up, I was able to stay in the same Room for two nights. I chose the Deluxe Japanese-style Room, and upgrading was definitely the right decision. The first thing I did after arriving was head straight to the Onsen. The water quality was incredible—silky and pleasantly smooth—and it genuinely felt like it left my skin refreshed. The washing area is spacious, and the indoor bath is more than large enough. The open-air bath is a bit smaller, but the water was so clean and soothing that it didn’t matter at all. I would happily come back just for this Onsen. The meals were also excellent. Although it’s a buffet, it wasn’t the typical “hotel buffet” with mass-produced dishes. Instead, each item felt carefully prepared. There aren’t countless options, but both the taste and quality were more than satisfying. I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of two nights, and the initial plated dish (separate from the buffet) featured different ingredients on each day—both were delicious. Some buffet items also changed on day two, so I never felt bored even with dinner twice in a row. The wood-fired pizza was especially good—I ended up eating too much on both days. Honestly, if you ate this dinner every day you’d definitely gain weight (in a good way). It was nothing like an ordinary hotel buffet that simply reheats frozen food. Breakfast was just as good. The view from the Room was amazing as well, which made me even happier that I chose the Deluxe Japanese-style Room. By luck I was on the top floor (5th floor), with a full view of Happo-One Ski Resort—including the ski jump—so it felt fantastic. I honestly think this Accommodation has one of the best vantage points in the area in terms of seeing over the entire resort and how close it feels to the mountains. Switching to two nights in this Deluxe Japanese-style Room was absolutely worth it. If you’re unsure which side to choose, I highly recommend a ski-resort-facing Room. The Accommodation itself may be somewhat older, but there wasn’t a single place where it felt old (or dirty). If anything, it feels very clean throughout. Even my window had been thoroughly cleaned, so I could enjoy their proud ski-resort view through spotless glass. All staff members were kind and welcoming with genuine smiles, which made my stay even better. I would absolutely like to stay here again.

While Marriott Hotels are often associated with polished service, perhaps because this is not a large-scale Hotel, the hospitality here was friendly and warm, and every staff member we interacted with had a wonderful smile. I’m sorry for the trouble we caused when my son’s Switch wouldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi. They even contacted a service provider to get it connected, and my son was truly grateful. The Room also felt very Hakuba—woody and simple, but exactly my taste. The ReFa shower head in the bath and the amenities were excellent as well. The meals were also incredibly elaborate and detailed; I was especially moved by the appetizer inspired by Hakuba’s scenery. I often can’t finish a full course meal, but this time I was able to enjoy every last bite. In winter, it seems we’ll be able to see a completely different landscape in many ways, so this is an Accommodation I’d love to revisit during ski season.

We visited this Accommodation on the last day of Silver Week, hoping to relax and reconnect with nature. We’ve stayed at glamping-style Hotels before, but since this Facility is run by an outdoor gear company, it felt even more like real camping. The Shuttle Service from Nagano Station made access very convenient for us as we were traveling by train. By chance, we were the only couple staying there, so it felt almost like having the place to ourselves. The dinner was incredibly creative, unique, and delicious. The paired drinks were thoughtfully matched all the way through dessert—truly a wonderful meal. Not only the dishes but also the bread and desserts were outstanding; they tasted as if a specialist had made them. Although the chef is young, he is clearly very talented. The nut bread at breakfast was especially memorable. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great, so we couldn’t see the stars or sunrise. Still, we fully enjoyed burning plenty of firewood at the campfire bar and spending a lovely evening chatting over drinks while listening to live music. Although the open season is short—from early summer to early autumn—we would love to return during the autumn foliage season. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

More and more Accommodations that welcome dogs have been appearing in recent years, and I stay at various private rental homes around Japan a few times a year. Among them, JADE GROUP’s Accommodation is outstanding in every way (this was my third stay including other JADE properties). The stylish exterior, interior design, and furnishings; the more-than-generous space and openness; and the spacious bathroom were all clean and made for a very comfortable bath time. I loved the overall simple yet luxurious atmosphere. The kitchen appliances were fully equipped, and having a Dyson vacuum cleaner plus a washer-dryer permanently installed was extremely helpful for someone like me who is a bit particular about cleanliness. With such excellent Facilities, I did wish there were at least basic amenities provided as well. From the large living-room windows, you can enjoy views of mountains and rural scenery. In this quiet setting with complete privacy from others, we were able to relax at our own pace—and it still didn’t feel like enough time—so if possible, I recommend a Multiple Night Stay.

We stayed at this facility as a group for green season hiking, just like last year. We enjoyed relaxing in the Japanese-Western style Room again this time. The bath is a bit small, but the Room is clean and comfortable, and the meals were both plentiful and delicious. We would love to stay here again!

This was our first trip to Hakuba with my daughter, and we were very satisfied with this accommodation. With only four rooms, each uniquely designed, we chose the "Condo" room this time. The room featured beautiful interior design, offering a luxurious and private experience. My daughter was delighted as well. For us, the enjoyment of a trip heavily depends on the accommodation's room and meals, and Kunugi exceeded all expectations with its hospitality and cleanliness. One of the highlights was the bath facilities—three options including indoor baths and an outdoor Asian-style bath that required a reservation. The outdoor bath had a tropical resort vibe where we could relax while enjoying views of the garden. It was so pleasant that I ended up using it twice—once in the evening and again in the morning. Dinner consisted of a full-course menu featuring fish and meat dishes that were casual yet delicious. The French toast served at breakfast was also excellent, which made my daughter very happy once again. Having stayed at many hotels or ryokans before, I believe accommodations like Kunugi—with its originality and exceptional hospitality—are rare to find. While winter is likely their peak season due to increased demand, visiting during off-season periods like now through autumn offers more reasonable rates. Summer in Hakuba feels like experiencing Japan’s traditional landscapes—a truly unique region worth visiting. We will definitely return for another stay! The owner was incredibly kind—a wonderful host—and even provided shuttle service for us. Thank you so much for making this summer trip such an unforgettable experience!

We stayed for one night over the Obon holidays as a family, and everything was excellent. The Facility matched the photos, was very clean, and we had a truly comfortable stay. When we arrived, the tarp and BBQ set were already prepared, so we could start enjoying a barbecue right away—wonderful. There was also a Miele front-opening dishwasher, which made it very convenient for a large group to wash and dry dishes automatically. What we especially liked was that the LDK is on the first floor, and there is also one bedroom on the first floor. Even among luxury villas I researched extensively, it’s rare to find this layout plus a sauna, so I think it’s quite valuable. It also seems very easy to use when traveling with elderly guests or anyone with limited mobility, since it reduces the need to go up and down stairs. The wood deck is designed to be hard to see from the road, and it isn’t fully exposed from neighboring homes either—privacy was well considered. You can see an apartment-like building a few hundred meters away, so you probably wouldn’t want to sunbathe completely nude outside (haha), but it still feels nicely private. The sauna goes up to 90°C maximum, so those who prefer an authentic high-temperature sauna might find it slightly lacking. However, relaxing outdoors after the cold bath on an infinity chair or in a hammock was truly amazing. We had originally extended late check-out by two hours, and when we asked for an additional two-hour extension, they kindly responded quickly since there were no upcoming Reservations. The staff service was excellent as well. We were satisfied with everything—the Facility, layout, comfort level, privacy considerations, and staff support. It made for a wonderful family trip. Located in a nature-rich area of Hakuba, this accommodation offers a relaxing experience surrounded by natural beauty. The garden is equipped with facilities for barbecues and campfires, allowing guests to enjoy meals while listening to the sounds of birds. The rooms are exceptional, each featuring its own toilet and bath/shower room. Additionally, the top floor boasts a stone-built bath resembling an Onsen, which we enjoyed multiple times. There are two living rooms so spacious that it was hard to decide where to settle in. Conveniently located near all attractions in Hakuba, with ski slopes just nearby, it’s perfect for morning walks.
