We visited to celebrate my father’s 80th birthday. It was a long drive from Yokohama to Nagano, but this was a wonderful Accommodation that truly made us glad we came. The in-room open-air bath was a little hot and needed some adjustment, but it was clean, spacious, and free of insects. The shampoo and conditioner also left our hair smooth and silky. (Some Ryokan at this level still leave your hair feeling rough.) All the staff who welcomed us were smiling, and during dinner the head chef served the main dish right at our table. Everything was delicious—made with local ingredients and carefully prepared with great attention to detail. On our way out, they even opened the souvenir shop in the main building earlier for us, so I was happy to be able to buy the souvenirs I wanted. My parents were very pleased as well, so we would love to visit again while they are still healthy.

Although it is not an Onsen, we were able to relax and rest in a calm atmosphere. The breakfast was also delicious, and we were very satisfied. Chilled drinks in the refrigerator are also free of charge.

The hospitality at Hotel Tsubakino is outstanding. Their smiles and grace conveyed genuine kindness. In particular, when I was asked which newspaper I preferred and requested the Nikkei, it was delivered outside my door the next morning. This was my first time experiencing that at an Onsen Ryokan. Their attentive service deserves full marks.

I stayed at this Accommodation yesterday! The service was very attentive, and the in-room open-air bath was flawless. Watching the staff grill and prepare sushi right in front of us at dinner and breakfast made the experience even better. Thank you for a wonderful one-night stay!

This trip was to celebrate my mother’s birthday. She requested to see the Onsen she had visited with my late father during their honeymoon, and also the snow monkeys at Jigokudani Monkey Park. We chose this Accommodation because Reviews repeatedly mentioned the private family bath and a homey, relaxing atmosphere. True to the Reviews, it was a wonderfully quiet and peaceful place. The warm glow of washi paper lamps displayed throughout was beautiful, and we could feel the proprietress’s thoughtful care in every detail. And the food—absolutely delicious! Dinner just kept coming (laugh). Every dish was freshly made and served hot. The best of all was the kake soba hand-made by the chef that very morning. I love soba and visit many places, but I’m sorry—this was truly the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Breakfast also made us happy with piping-hot dashimaki tamago. The highlight of breakfast was the miso soup—I wanted to take home the whole pot. As we’ve gotten older, we choose our trips carefully based on both meals and Accommodation quality, and this place offered outstanding value for money. More than anything, we made unforgettable memories here. On our way out, I bought one of the lamps that were on display at the Accommodation as a gift for my mother. Thanks to you, it became the best birthday present possible. We’ll come again in winter—and again for her birthday next year too. The parking lot was spacious and convenient. The Room was clean and functional! The only slight dissatisfaction was the lack of a nearby convenience store, but while exploring, I found a yakiniku restaurant and enjoyed a delicious dinner. I appreciated the staff's thoughtful gestures, such as the handmade map.

We visited to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. We had long admired Yorozuya, and from the moment we stepped into the entrance, we were amazed by the magnificent coffered ceiling. The lion folding screen and furnishings were also wonderful—like being in a museum. While listening to jazz, we were served matcha tea, and it was truly a blissful time. Our Room was spacious as well. We then went to our main destination: the Momoyama Bath, a designated cultural property. All we could say was “Wow”—it was an incredible bath. The steam bath and outdoor bath far exceeded our imagination and felt like works of art. The Shinonome Bath was also very nice. And then dinner: the proprietress’s handwritten menu had so much character and was beautiful—she is also a talented artist. The food was delicious, and my husband and I were deeply moved by the congratulatory message written with chocolate on the dessert plate. Thank you so much for the warm hospitality from all of the staff. The next day, we were able to tour the Momoyama Bath again, take photos, and listen to an explanation—it was truly wonderful. The shared bath outside was also great. It became an unforgettable trip, and we would love to visit again. We’re experiencing serious “Yorozuya loss” now...

Suimeikan truly lives up to its name—a relaxing Hotel surrounded by nature. From the Room window, you can enjoy a panoramic view of lush green mountains. The baths leave your skin feeling silky smooth. Meals are served buffet-style, so you can eat as much of what you like as you want, and the local sake was delicious.

From the open-air bath, we could see cherry blossoms in full bloom so close they felt within reach, and both of us were very satisfied. 　For dinner, it was delicious—and a first-time experience—to pick shiitake mushrooms ourselves from a cultivation kit, grill them, and eat them. We also enjoyed having dessert in the lobby after moving to a different spot. The staff were very attentive as well. 　The only downside was that the Facility felt a bit old, but overall it was a great Hotel.

Please note in advance that the Accommodation is older, so it may not suit guests who compare it with city Hotels or the latest Hotels. I also felt there were quite a few foreign staff members, likely in anticipation of inbound tourism, but their Japanese was very fluent and polite, which made me feel at ease. And for this price range, the service is outstanding. A welcome drink bar, welcome beer, and welcome oden were all provided free of charge. I had the oden egg, konjac, and daikon—everything was delicious. Dinner was an all-you-can-eat buffet including sukiyaki, with sushi as well. I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the pork loin—it tasted even better than the beef. Everything was excellent. Crab was also all-you-can-eat. The dessert corner items like mini cakes and Shine Muscat ice cream were delicious too. A private open-air bath can be reserved for one family for 30 minutes. I thought it might be short at first, but the water was hot enough to feel fully satisfied while still being able to finish within the time limit. Free late-night ramen was also offered; excuse me for saying so, but despite its appearance it tasted surprisingly good and really impressed me. Breakfast was also all-you-can-eat. I made a negitoro rice bowl—the fish was very fresh and delicious. Bread and other items were unlimited as well. Overall, I felt extremely satisfied with the meals for this price range, and I would definitely like to visit again. I’m posting photos just to convey the atmosphere; since I don’t eat much, what’s shown may look modest in quantity, but everything is all-you-can-eat.

Stayed overnight after skiing at Shiga Kogen After check-in, straight to the open-air bath! Then draft beer at the all-you-can-drink corner. There were snacks too—the mixed nuts were delicious. Dinner buffet featured teppanyaki beef, with red wine, and lots of other options. Breakfast was tasty as well. If I didn’t have to drive, I’d have enjoyed the all-you-can-drink from the morning too (lol). The building is old, but they’ve clearly worked hard on renovations. The woman at reception also made a great impression. It’s a shame the dead grass along the road makes it look a bit abandoned from outside. I’ll be back.

Our stay for three men, all turning 72 this year, was very enjoyable. - We could park right in front of the Hotel, and the lift ticket counter is connected to the front desk. The 1-day pass was inexpensive (about half the price of other ski resorts), and Accommodation guests also received a 500-yen discount. - Both the Room and the large public bath were spacious, so we could relax. The dinner buffet included 1 hour of all-you-can-drink, and although there was no all-you-can-eat crab option, dishes were replenished quickly when they ran out, which we enjoyed. - A few points to consider: the air conditioner in the Room was quite noisy, and there were no chairs in the ski locker room. Also, the shop’s refrigerator only had ice cream and no ice; unfortunately, a store diagonally across from the parking lot had sold out of ice as well. All of the Southeast Asian staff at both reception and the restaurant were very pleasant—thank you for a wonderful ski trip.

Dinner was at an izakaya using the Hotel voucher. We had a grilled fish set meal and local sake within the voucher amount. It was delicious. In the morning, we had bread and coffee; I would have liked a salad. The bath was very hot, but the water was great. The only drawback was that the parking lot was hard to find. Thank you for your hospitality.

The owner was very kind and gave us a warm welcome. They recommended many wonderful local attractions, such as apple picking, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The Room was spacious enough for one person, very quiet at night, and provided a comfortable stay. Additionally, the **bath (bathtub)** allowed me to relax as if I were at home. I would love to stay here again if I have the chance!

I couldn’t book the Accommodation near the ski resort (mountains) that I usually use, so I searched on Yahoo! Travel and made a Reservation at Route Inn. It’s in a great location—within an hour (within 25 km) of the ski resort I like. Because it’s in town (down on the plain), prices are lower (in the mountains, things are expensive, limited, and often priced however they want). You can eat and drink whatever you like, it’s not as cold as up in the mountains, and the Hotel is clean (many mountain Accommodations are seriously outdated). Everything was incredibly comfortable. Best of all, for the price of one night in the mountains, you can stay two nights down here.

This Onsen was perfect for us, as we prefer mildly warm water. Some Reviews mentioned it gets crowded with day-trip visitors, but perhaps due to the season, it wasn’t too busy. We relaxed in the open-air bath with its milky-white Onsen water. The meals were also excellent, featuring creative dishes such as simmered stir-fried Japanese spikenard, deep-fried char with black vinegar sauce, and maitake mushroom rice. It’s an Onsen we’d love to visit again.

I was worried because the Reviews I checked in advance were low, but I’m very satisfied. The Room was spacious, and the view toward Zenkoji Temple and the night scenery were amazing. The amenities were well stocked, and both the open-air bath and indoor bath were great. Since it was that time of year when the Room heating wasn’t on, it was cold, so I contacted the front desk and they brought me a fan heater. There were some stains and dirt on the carpet, and the amenities didn’t feel particularly luxurious, but at this price it’s more than enough. It seems like meal ratings are very low, but since my stay was No Meals Included, I can’t comment. If you go down about 10 minutes there’s a convenience store, and beyond that there’s an AEON mall, popular supermarkets, chain restaurants, and ramen shops—so even with No Meals Included there’s no problem. I’ll stay here again next year!!

I stayed here for a Multiple Night Stay during my trip to Nagano. Even though I arrived much earlier than planned, the front desk staff kindly assisted me, which was very helpful. The Room was spacious enough for a family, and since it was just the two of us as a couple, we could really relax. Because the location is up in the mountains, it was quiet and cool at night, and I slept well. Breakfast was buffet-style with a sufficient variety. Since I stayed multiple nights, I had breakfast twice, and I appreciated that the selection changed slightly. There are vending machines for drinks and ice cream inside the building, as well as a small shop, but there are no convenience stores or restaurants nearby. If you choose a Plan without meals or plan to have light food and drinks in your Room, I recommend shopping before arriving at the Accommodation. I also had a Plan without dinner, so the front desk staff told me about “Madarao no Yu,” located a short way down the hill. Thank you to all the staff for their kind hospitality—this was my first Multiple Night Stay, and I had a very comfortable time.

I stayed here during the Obuse Marathon. Despite my early departure, they kindly prepared rice balls and tea for me, which I greatly appreciated. The warm smiles when welcoming and sending me off made for a wonderful stay.
