I stayed here for a concert trip this time. Because of the concert end time and traffic, I didn’t arrive until 9:00 PM, and I ended up getting to dinner very late, but you welcomed me with a smile and I had a wonderful time. Breakfast was also delicious, and since I had some time before checkout, I was able to take a walk in Kenrokuen Garden across the street. The location is excellent, and above all, every staff member was smiling and seemed genuinely happy—I would definitely like to stay here again the next time I visit Kanazawa. My wife and I stayed for two nights over a weekend trip. Unfortunately, it rained, so we couldn’t fully enjoy sightseeing in Kanazawa as planned. However, the time we spent at the Hotel was incredibly comfortable, and thanks to the wonderful lounge and the thoughtful care of all the staff, it turned into a truly satisfying stay. We arrived at the Hotel around noon. Our car was taken care of with valet service, which made it easy for us to head to Omicho Market. We enjoyed rock oysters, Noto beef croquettes, grilled scallop skewers, and more. When we returned to the Hotel around 2:00 p.m., even though it was before check-in time, we were kindly told that our Room was already ready. The Room was spotless and had a calm atmosphere—such a welcome gesture after walking in the rain. What I had been looking forward to most during this stay was the club lounge. We were amazed by how well stocked it was: their famous cakes, sandwiches, a wide selection of drinks, and even Häagen-Dazs ice cream. The evening offerings were also excellent—far beyond what you’d expect from “just a lounge,” and more than enough for us as dinner. We were also excited about breakfast. Although we had to wait a little due to full seating, the food exceeded our expectations. It felt distinctly Kanazawa-like as well, and we were very satisfied. Above all else, what left the strongest impression was the staff’s smiles and hospitality. Throughout our two-night stay, every staff member greeted us with genuine warmth, and their attentive care comforted us again and again. Even when checking out and leaving, there was one last pleasant surprise. When our car was brought to the entrance via valet service, chilled mineral water had been placed in the cup holders. My wife and I were truly touched by such thoughtfulness until the very end. Since we couldn’t do as much sightseeing in Kanazawa due to the rain this time around، our time at this Hotel became an especially memorable part of our trip. I originally planned to stay at a mountain hut for a hike, but the weather turned bad, so I changed plans to sightseeing in Kanazawa and made a Reservation at this Hotel. When I arrived at the parking lot, the building looked old from the outside and I was a little worried, but once I went to the lobby and then to my Room, I was glad I chose this place. First of all, everyone in the lobby was kind, pleasant, and very helpful. The lobby interior was wonderful, and the Room had been beautifully renovated. I had a very comfortable stay. With Kanazawa Castle right next door, it’s also very convenient for sightseeing. Next time I come to Kanazawa, I’d like to stay here again.

I stayed here as a solo traveler. It’s within walking distance of the Higashi Chaya District, and during cherry blossom season it’s a great place for a stroll! Since you can rent the entire house exclusively, I was able to relax and take my time. The bath was especially wonderful! The Facility and amenities were also excellent, with the latest appliances—almost too good for just one night. Next time, I’d like to buy local vegetables and fish and cook in the well-equipped kitchen.

My previous stay was so fulfilling that I decided to visit again. Another reason for choosing this accommodation was the cherry blossoms, and I was able to enjoy the view of the blooming cherry blossoms along Asano River from my room. Combined with the atmosphere of the traditional townhouse, it felt as though all of Kanazawa's charm was encapsulated in this accommodation. I even hesitated to leave for sightseeing. The owner's thoughtful hospitality was also wonderful, such as taking photos for me and kindly introducing the room in detail. If I have another opportunity, I would definitely love to visit again.

In the heart of Higashi Chaya District, this Accommodation lets you stay as if living in a Kanazawa machiya townhouse, and it remains one of the most memorable Hotels I have ever stayed in. As soon as you step inside, the gentle scent of wood fills the air and naturally calms you. While preserving the charm of an old machiya, the interior has been refined into a modern, sophisticated space, and my stay was comfortable from start to finish. The passage garden leading from the entrance to the living room reinterprets a traditional machiya layout as a contemporary art gallery, creating a distinctive atmosphere from the moment you arrive. With part of one living-room wall opened up, it retains that classic machiya serenity while adding just the right sense of openness. On the first floor, warmth from natural wood is balanced beautifully with a palette of brown, white, cream, and black. Everything—from pendant lights to furniture and small details—has been carefully chosen for a cohesive look that shows great taste down to every corner. The table in particular stood out: its texture evoked Noto washi paper and kurikawa-zome (chestnut husk dyeing), and it felt like local culture and craftsmanship were seamlessly woven into the space. The bath and wash area are modern and spotless in crisp black-and-white tones, and even the scent of Aesop hand soap and bath amenities was wonderfully soothing. Upstairs retains even more of the original wooden character of a machiya, offering a different kind of quiet calm. The bedroom lighting—soft like moonlight—was especially memorable and perfectly suited to the mood. Another unique highlight is being able to whisk matcha in your room. The tea kettle, bowls, and other tools are thoughtfully selected; using vessels that reflect Kanazawa- and Noto-area traditional crafts made preparing matcha yourself feel truly special. With clear instructions provided, it’s easy to enjoy even for first-timers. Unlike having tea at a tourist spot, making matcha in this quiet machiya setting felt deeply relaxing. Open the windows and you can sense both the stillness of this teahouse district and hints of local daily life beyond it. Rather than simply visiting as a tourist, being able to blend into the neighborhood is an experience that’s hard to find at an ordinary Hotel. Breakfast was at Miso Soup Club just a short walk away; I enjoyed a nourishing Japanese breakfast with hearty miso soup packed with ingredients along with egg over rice (tamago kake gohan) and small side dishes. This is an Accommodation I would highly recommend for anyone who wants to savor Kanazawa’s culture, craftsmanship—and unhurried quiet time—with care.

Since it had been a while since my last visit to Kanazawa, I wanted to stay at a whole house rental property and found Kikunoya. It was very nice. The property is a renovated machiya, and while I usually prefer futons over beds for the traditional atmosphere, the bed at Kikunoya matched the room so well, and I was tired, so I used the bed throughout my stay. The bed itself was very comfortable, and I liked it, but the location of the room with the bed was in a position where outside noise was quite noticeable, so guests should be aware of that. However, the noise was not so bothersome that I continued using the bed for two nights. That said, next time I stay at Kikunoya, I might try sleeping in the back room with a futon. What surprised me at Kikunoya was the abundance of tableware. There were even lacquered trays in the drawers of the box stairs, and I was truly amazed by the number of glasses available, enough to host a party. Additionally, all the tableware you might want is available, so you can easily procure delicious side dishes (Western or Japanese) from the Omi market, quickly prepare rice and soup, and enjoy a leisurely meal at the property with local sake from a liquor store in Kanazawa. I plan to do that next time. It was an enjoyable stay. Thank you very much.

It was our first trip to Kanazawa, and we stayed here as a group of four friends. The accommodation had excellent facilities, including floor heating and air conditioning, and the host was very kind and attentive. The location is very convenient, with Higashi Chaya District, Omicho Market, and Kenrokuen Garden all within walking distance. Situated in a quiet residential area, it offers a peaceful stay. We would love to stay here again in the future! Amenities included shampoo, body soap, sponges for washing the body, toothbrushes, towels, and even a washing machine.

First of all, the location was excellent, close to the teahouse district. It was also just a short distance from other spots such as Omicho Market, making sightseeing very easy. The Room had everything we needed, and having an Onsen with a stone bath made it perfect. Breakfast was a very delicious Japanese set meal. The staff were kind and attentive. Free drinks, plus complimentary laundry and parking, made it exceptionally well equipped in every way. This is an Accommodation I would gladly stay at again when visiting Kanazawa.

We never got to take a honeymoon, so after retiring from work we finally enjoyed a relaxing trip together as a couple. This Hotel is conveniently located near Kanazawa Castle Park, Kenrokuen Garden, and Omicho Market. The Room was clean, the food was delicious, and it became a wonderful memory for us as a couple. The Hotel staff were also kind and helpful. Breakfast was buffet-style, and I couldn’t help going back for seconds. If we have the chance, we would definitely like to stay again.

It felt like spending time at a private home. The complimentary drinks and candies were much appreciated. The kind couple made the stay very comfortable. The breakfast was so delightful that I want to replicate it!

We stayed with three families (seven people). It was very convenient, right in front of Kanazawa Castle and within walking distance of Omicho Market. There was a 7-Eleven and a bakery very close by, which we used for breakfast (the bakery was really delicious). The view from the Room was excellent, and we would like to stay here again when traveling with a large group.

I had the privilege of spending New Year's for the first time at Kinjohro, one of Kanazawa's most renowned ryokan. With my mother being from Kanazawa and having spent six years studying in this city myself, it had always been a dream to welcome the New Year at Kinjohro. However, I hesitated for a long time, feeling that such a prestigious and traditional ryokan might be beyond my reach. This year, I finally had the opportunity to visit Kanazawa with my son and fulfill this long-held dream. The elegant architecture, refined furnishings harmonizing sophistication and grace, exquisite Kutani ware and Kaga Yuzen kimonos—everything exuded timeless beauty. The traditional Kaga cuisine featuring local specialties like yellowtail fish, crab, duck dishes such as kamo-jibu stew prepared with care using authentic ingredients—and even the osechi New Year’s feast—were simply exceptional. The room and bath filled with the soothing scent of cypress wood added to an unforgettable experience. Above all else was the heartfelt hospitality provided by staff who embody over 130 years of tradition in this historic city of Kanazawa. It felt as though we were transported back in time to experience the grandeur of Kaga Hyakumangoku culture. On New Year's morning after enjoying osechi cuisine, we joined other guests along with the owner, proprietress (okami), head chef, staff members and their families for a mochi-pounding event at the entrance. The friendly atmosphere shared among everyone under glimpses of blue sky through clouds made it truly special—the taste of kinako-coated mochi will remain etched in our memories alongside our stay at Kinjohro. As mentioned in other Reviews, the partition between rooms is just a single sliding door. How you feel about that depends on the person, but it’s better than bunk beds in a dormitory-style setup. The futon was clean, fluffy, and very comfortable to sleep on. If you’re concerned about noise from the next Room, bring earplugs—they also help with snoring. It was No Meals Included, and they let me park my motorcycle right behind the Accommodation, so it was very comfortable. Just one thing: I’d like them to replace the mat in the changing area of the bath regularly. It was wet, and that part bothered me. It’s an Accommodation I’d be happy to stay at again.

Just steps away from Kenrokuen Garden! The location is incredibly close, making it perfect for sightseeing. The area outside is lively with tourists, so you might hear some chatter depending on the time of day, but personally, I found it added to the travel atmosphere and was quite pleasant. The room was clean and well-organized, allowing for a very comfortable stay. I specifically searched for "accommodation with a sauna" this time, and this place was an excellent value within that category. Both the sauna and bath were fantastic! A couple of minor points: even when fully closed, the bathroom door let a bit of water leak out, and the drainage could have been better. Also, having a microwave would be an added bonus. Other than that, everything exceeded expectations overall! I’d definitely choose this accommodation again when visiting Kanazawa.
