We stayed at the very end of summer vacation, and everything was wonderful—the meals, the baths, the renovated Room, and the excellent service from all staff. During meals, we often saw how thoughtfully they looked out for our young children, and the front desk staff were also very kind, making our stay truly pleasant. We had almost given up on using the pool because of the rain, but it cleared up on checkout day, so we were able to fully enjoy both the pool and the slide—our kids were thrilled. Thank you as well to the staff member watching over the pool for regularly skimming leaves and sharing helpful information. It was a perfect way to end summer vacation, and our whole family is very satisfied with these great memories. We will definitely visit again. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Thank you for taking care of us on our family trip. The building was old, but the bath and the Room were clean, so it didn’t bother us. The parking attendant, the front desk staff, and all other employees were very pleasant, and we were able to stay comfortably. There is no refrigerator in the Room, but there was a shared refrigerator in the washroom area that we could use. Tea was also provided in the hallway. Since we used the bath late at night, it was almost like having it to ourselves and we could relax. The open-air bath was also very nice. Breakfast was mainly Japanese-style, and the rice was especially delicious. We were told it is cooked in a traditional pot, and it even had some crispy browned rice. We also heard that staff draw the water themselves, and it tasted great as well. Our family has been saying we’d love to come again.

We stayed as two couples, my husband and I, along with my sister and her husband. The accommodation provided shuttle service to the nearest station, and the staff's hospitality was excellent. The meals were outstanding; the rice from Uonuma was so delicious that both the porridge at dinner and breakfast the next day left us thinking we had never tasted such amazing rice before. If I had to mention one minor disappointment, it would be that the beef steak served at dinner was cold. However, all other dishes—appetizers, wild boar dish, sashimi—were absolutely delightful. As a parting gift, they gave us souvenirs which included a photo taken during our meal from the previous day—a wonderful keepsake of our stay. Thank you very much!

The property had been renovated last year, and it was lovely with a modern Japanese style. However, the lighting was too dim and felt a bit inconvenient, so it would have been nice to have adjustable lighting. Also, the bed was quite low and there was only a floor chair, which might be tough for elderly guests. The bath left my skin silky smooth, and the effect lasted even after I got home. Wonderful. Niigata edamame was offered as a welcome service—local produce really is delicious. The meals were also very tasty. There was a wide selection of alcohol, which I enjoyed. I’m grateful to the staff for accommodating my requests without showing any displeasure. Thank you very much.

The Onsen accommodation was excellent except for the outdoor bath having a cover and the volume of breakfast. The heartfelt cuisine, in particular, was truly impressive.

At first, I visited without high expectations based on the photos, but they had prepared a very spacious Japanese-Western style Room for us. On the table were small, adorable rice balls—such a thoughtful touch that made me happy. As expected of Uonuma, Japan’s top rice region. Both at dinner and breakfast, the service was very gentle and kind. The rice was of course excellent, and the meals were delicious too—but thanks to the hospitality, everything tasted even better. The Onsen water felt wonderful, and by the next morning my skin was smooth. It also felt like cleaning was done thoroughly. The open-air bath is small, but since it’s on the rooftop, the night view was beautiful. Inside the building there were various nostalgic items on display; we ended up reminiscing and even got absorbed in playing games. When we left our Room and were waiting for the elevator, a staff member who was cleaning nearby went out of their way to bow politely and see us off with “Thank you very much—please take care.” All of the staff greeted us with warm smiles, and we truly had a comfortable stay. These days many places employ staff from overseas where communication can be difficult at times, but here their careful and gentle service made me genuinely happy. This has become an Accommodation I would definitely like to visit again. The building feels old and shows its age, but it is cleaned carefully, so there’s no problem once you actually visit. One more thing—this was my own carelessness: I slightly cut my finger on an inner edge of the towel rack. I think it would be good for children and elderly guests to be a little careful around it.
