It was truly an amazing experience. The staff worked with us multiple times beforehand to plan a surprise, and their attention to detail was incredible. I've never experienced such exceptional hospitality before. Thank you for accommodating our requests with a smile! The staff

Of course, we were fully satisfied with the delicious cuisine, sommelier-recommended wine, and birthday cake. The thoughtful gestures from the staff, including a birthday message card, made us appreciate this Hotel even more. The lighting of the giant Christmas tree was also a

We stayed as a family of four. The Room and bath were great, but above all, the meals were outstanding. The complimentary beer after the bath and ice cream were also nice, but what impressed us even more was the staff’s hospitality. From casual conversations they suggested a stro

Both the balcony and the Room, with two beds each, delighted both humans and our dog. The entire Hotel exuded a welcoming atmosphere for dogs, and the meals were delicious, with cute dog-shaped carrots that were truly impressive. Complimentary ramen, ice cream, and consommé soup

It has a small entrance where cars cannot stop at the front door, and it is not a large Hotel that can offer a grand welcome, but it is wonderful. The cuisine, in particular, is excellent. I have stayed at various luxury Resort Hotels, but this place seems like one I would return

We enjoyed apple pie and royal milk tea at the café, cocktails at the bar, and finally dinner at the restaurant. And to top it off, an Onsen we could soak in anytime. Off-season Karuizawa was quiet and peaceful, and my heart, body, and stomach were all happily satisfied. Thank yo

They upgraded our Room (perhaps because there was availability), and we were able to relax in a spacious Room, which was wonderful. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. For breakfast I debated the French toast, but this time I chose an egg dish. Next time I would definitely

The tatami Room was spacious, very clean, and truly impressive. The green scenery visible from the window was also stunning and highly satisfying. The breakfast buffet was delicious, featuring vegetables from Nagano Prefecture. The large public bath was also very satisfying

The bathroom was also spacious, equipped with a washing area and chair, allowing for a very relaxing bath time. After running, I could stretch in the Japanese-style room, which made my stay truly comfortable. Thank you for your hospitality. I am planning to visit again at t

There were plenty of staff, all kind and attentive, and everything felt spotless; the amenities were excellent as well. We took our time enjoying dinner (the creative dishes were wonderful and delicious), and had a leisurely breakfast too (a great selection of soups and sweets,

The lemon cake was also incredibly delicious. The evening free-flow session was not crowded, allowing us to enjoy an elegant time in the lounge, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed as well. For breakfast, as buffets are becoming challenging for elderly guests like us, having a

I’d stopped feeling any sense of novelty in staying in Karuizawa, but thanks to this hotel I discovered a completely new kind of enjoyment. Being able to check in without even a full minute’s walk from the Shinkansen ticket gates is impressive enough, but the rooms are simply extraordinary. Many luxury hotels these days rely on breathtaking views from high floors—but this is different. Here, you’re surrounded by truly beautiful furnishings and refined taste, and it made me realize all over again that the room itself is what defines a hotel’s value. I don’t think I can convey this happiness unless you actually stay here, so I’ll stop there—but on the night I got home, I fell asleep thinking how much I wanted to go right back and how wonderful everything had been. That doesn’t happen often. The understated service is lovely as well, and the breakfast, lounge, baths, and sauna are all amazing—but I won’t praise them too specifically because I don’t want it to get crowded (haha). In any case, I’m grateful to this hotel for adding an appeal to Karuizawa that simply didn’t exist before. Even as I write this, it’s making me want to go again...

The course meal accompanied by live cello music was exceptional. The breakfast buffet also had high quality, featuring roast beef, roast pork, smoked salmon, smoked chicken, Camembert cheese, pickled vegetables—everything I love—and I was very satisfied. At Cypress Resort Hot

The entire Hotel was very clean and comfortable. The Onsen was not too hot, just the right temperature, allowing us to relax. The shower booth was very spacious and had a sense of cleanliness. The scent of the shampoo and conditioner was so pleasant that I ended up purchasing t

We arrived early, but they kindly let us park, so we were able to explore the area, which was great. The hotel was modern, simple, and lovely. Everything we needed was provided in just the right amount, and we were very satisfied. In particular, since it is located in Old Karuizawa, it was easy to get around. Thank you very much. We would like to stay again if we have the opportunity.

The dinner's birthday plate and the Room decorations were truly wonderful, making the birthday surprise a great success. I was deeply moved by the hospitality that exceeded my expectations. My friend was very happy, and I’m glad we chose to stay at this Hotel! Thank you so much!

The location was convenient and I had a great time. It was reasonably priced and I would like to use it again. Thank you very much.

The night illumination at the retro-style Western hotel was stunning. We stayed to celebrate my wife's birthday, and I was touched by the dessert plate they prepared for us. The room had been renovated, was clean, and made our stay very comfortable. Above all, we were soothed by

We’re a couple who look forward to staying in private rental Accommodations with our dog a few times a year. On our first trip back to Karuizawa in a while, the three of us (including our black Shiba) enjoyed a relaxing two-night stay at Murasakishikibu. We bought groceries locally and used the provided kitchen utensils and equipment (most essentials are available!). Having a washer and dryer was also very convenient for doing laundry. We felt the layout was comfortable for dogs as well. Since we stayed as two guests, the second floor could not be used. Because our dog tried to go up the stairs, we used luggage and cushions as a makeshift barrier; it would be nice if there were a simple safety gate if possible. Perhaps because the weather wasn’t sunny, the humidity was very high (70%–80%). We tried using the air conditioner’s dehumidifying mode, but with the high ceilings it didn’t work very effectively, so it felt a bit damp inside. That said, the high ceilings were wonderful and gave an open, airy feel. Overall, we’d rate it 4 stars!

This was my first time staying with SANU! Karuizawa 1st is a quiet place surrounded by nature, and from the moment I arrived, the crisp, clear air immediately put me at ease. The Room is spacious and relaxing, with plenty of natural light through the large windows and beautiful views outside. Time felt like it slowed down, and I was able to forget the busyness of everyday life and truly recharge. I relaxed so much that I didn’t even make time for a campfire, so I’d love to come back again... haha
