We stayed with our family and our dog, and it was even better than we expected! The Room was spacious and spotless, with stylish, open interiors. Best of all, the view from the Room was outstanding, and the peaceful scenery truly helped us relax and recharge. The grounds were also very large and beautifully maintained, and our dog was thrilled to run around! It was a wonderful holiday for the whole family (and our dog too!). We’d love to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much!

This spacious maisonette-style accommodation is comfortable even for four adults. Mornings are especially memorable—enjoying coffee on the terrace while listening to the sound of the waves. The beach is within walking distance, and taking the picnic set provided in the cabin made our time by the sea even better. It was a relaxing stay that let us forget the hustle and bustle of city life.

About a 15-minute taxi ride from the nearest Miyaji Station, it’s accessible even without a car. The atmosphere is simply outstanding. Dining with the majestic Aso mountains and endless grasslands as your backdrop is truly irreplaceable. The Facility feels like a hotel restaurant in the American West. As it’s located on a ranch, there are plenty of horses on the premises, and of course you can also enjoy horseback riding experiences. With good weather, you should be able to catch the sunset sinking into the vast Aso landscape, a sky full of stars, and refreshing sunrise views with seas of clouds. There is also a large public bath. It’s a bit small, but it includes a dry sauna and cold plunge pool—perfect for unwinding while looking out over the Aso grasslands. It’s slightly disappointing that there’s no outdoor air-bath space (for safety reasons, the windows are kept fully closed), but you can still spot horses in the distance. Depending on the Plan, private time slots may be available as well, making it convenient for families.

It was a clean Accommodation. There were three Rooms, and they were very spacious—more than enough for a family of four. Coffee beans were also provided, so we could enjoy a relaxing cup in the morning. We didn’t use the bath this time, but it was clean.

We stayed for five nights during Silver Week. We enjoyed a peaceful and fulfilling time. It was also fun cooking ingredients we bought at a local supermarket. The sunset view from the window was beautiful and deeply moving.

Ever since I discovered Shukabura on an accommodation booking site a few years ago, I had been dreaming of staying here someday. The owner couple are friendly and down-to-earth. With just the right sense of distance, they respected my privacy while offering thoughtful care that anticipated every need. Not only the beautiful hill scenery, but also their warmth is a major reason this place makes you want to “come back home” again. Every piece of villa decor was so lovely I wanted to photograph it, and finding the charming little items placed throughout felt like a treasure hunt. The compact interior had everything I needed, and as someone whose hair tends to explode in the morning, I was genuinely impressed that there were even two types of hair irons provided. The cosmetics and bath/hair care amenities also smelled wonderful—I ended up lingering in the bath longer than planned. The local ingredients prepared for breakfast were all surprisingly delicious, especially the vegetables. I couldn’t stop tasting them just to check doneness—and even bought extra vegetables at a local farmers’ market. As someone who enjoys cooking (not necessarily claiming I’m good at it), I loved making my own meals while admiring the stunning view from the living room, making time spent in the Room truly special. This trip was a solo journey for self-care made possible by warm support from those around me. During my stay there were many rainy or cloudy days and strong winds, so it might not be considered “good weather” in general. Even so, there were sights I could only experience because of these conditions: a rainbow after the rain; layered clouds drifting by; a sky changing moment by moment; wheat rippling in the wind; and white buckwheat flowers swaying gently. This stay reminded me once again that Biei’s charm isn’t limited to sunny days. This was my seventh visit to Biei. The colors of the hills, shades of the sky, shapes of clouds, and growing trees all look different each time—no matter how many times I come back over time, there is always something new that moves me. Next time, I’d love to visit Biei in midwinter—still unknown to me—and watch snowy scenery from Shukabura. Thank you very much for such a truly fulfilling stay for both body and mind.

This was our third stay at Roof Yureya. No matter how many times we visit, the warm hospitality never changes, and it truly puts us at ease. The staff’s sense of distance is just right, and it feels so comforting—like coming home. Above all, the greatest charm is being able to spend plenty of “family time” that you could never experience at a Hotel. Instead of splitting up into separate Rooms, we can gather around the irori hearth, relax on the veranda, take a bath whenever we like, and enjoy the sauna or fireworks whenever we want. It’s a truly luxurious space where conversation naturally flows. We also appreciated being able to leave meals to the staff, which helped us forget the busyness of everyday life and spend unhurried time together as a family once again. We’d love to visit again in another season. Thank you as always for such a wonderful stay.

My children really enjoyed it. We wanted to choose the outdoor BBQ Plan, but it was too cold so we decided not to. We’d like to stay again during summer vacation. Also, we forgot our child’s backpack and asked you to send it cash on delivery, but you sent it prepaid. It’s rare to find service like this, so we were very satisfied.

Although we checked in during an approaching typhoon and heavy rain, a staff member went above and beyond to carry our suitcases and other luggage for us. The cottage was fully equipped with a washing machine, dehumidifier, bathroom drying function, a single-burner IH cooktop, and more, which was extremely convenient. The next morning the wind and rain had stopped, and when we opened the curtains we were greeted by a breathtaking ocean view!!! It was such a luxurious moment that we extended our checkout by one hour (available for JPY 2,000 per Room). Thank you for the wonderful stay. We also really enjoyed a beach walk after checkout!! We couldn’t do stargazing due to the bad weather, but next time!

This is a repeat stay. I believe this is the nicest Accommodation on Amami Oshima. The ocean is right in front of you, and you can even see sea turtles while snorkeling. You can also see the ocean from the bathtub, and there is a kitchen for self-catering. We will come again next year.

We were fortunate to have good weather. The previous weekend had a typhoon, and it looked like the following weekend would as well. During the day, we crossed by city bike from Aka Island to Geruma Island and then to Gaiji Island, and after all that effort, we were able to relax from the evening onward. The Room was clean. Dinner on the terrace overlooking the beautiful sea right in front of us was delicious. It must be unique to this island that deer came strolling into the garden.

We stayed with two families (six people). The Facility was clean and well equipped, and we had a comfortable stay. We would love to stay again!

My check-in was late due to the ferry schedule, but they kindly accommodated me. In the living room, guests were happily chatting with the hosts! On the day I left, they saw me off even in the heat and took a commemorative photo with me! I had a very comfortable stay and would love to come again! Thank you very much!

Four close grandma friends stayed here together. The staff were attentive while keeping a comfortable distance, which made our stay very pleasant. The meals were just right in both quality and portion size. For breakfast, the sashimi we couldn’t finish at dinner was served as marinated fish, and there was also fish with a savory sauce; we took our time and enjoyed every bite. The hostess’s stage performance was fun as well—this is an Accommodation we’d love to visit again and again.

The dog run is incredibly spacious—and beautifully maintained! It felt like a waste with just one miniature dachshund. The BBQ facilities are amazing too. It was a very windy day, but we had no worries at all. The food was great and delicious. The Room was just right, and it was very convenient that the bathroom, washbasin area, and toilet were separate. It’s close to Lake Biwa, and it felt like a private beach—looked like you could even swim there. We’ll definitely be back! We’re also looking forward to the camp site and RV site opening soon. Although I’ve visited Okinawa many times, this was my first stay here.\nWe chose the Pool Executive Suite (2 Bedrooms), and it was incredibly spacious and open—best of all, we could use the pool anytime!\nThe kids were thrilled, and the adults joined in too; we ended up swimming and playing over and over.\nHaving a washer-dryer in the Room was a huge help—we’d wash and dry our wet clothes right away, then head back to the pool again the next day.\nIt was a bit disappointing that we couldn’t see the ocean because of all the trees in front of the pool, but at night it was fun spotting bats flying around, cats wandering by, and looking for other unusual creatures.\nSince no one could see us, we were able to truly relax without thinking about anything.\n\nThe beach just a short walk away was full of nature, with gentle waves—it was truly beautiful.\nWe snorkeled as a family, and we really appreciated being able to borrow beach chairs and parasols.\nWe went to watch the sunset, and after being told we might be able to see fireworks, we went out for that too. We visited the beach several times—the sound of the waves and peaceful atmosphere felt cleansing. It became our best Okinawa trip ever.\n\nAs for meals: breakfast—the Japanese set meal was absolutely delicious. We chose Japanese breakfast all three mornings of our 3-night stay.\nFor dinner, we tried à la carte at the restaurant once; everything was excellent and we were very satisfied!\n\nIf I had to mention one small point:\nThe Room Facility is perfect overall, but despite having a kitchen and cooking tools, the refrigerator is extremely small—like one you’d find in a Business Hotel...\nWe couldn’t chill wine in it, so we asked to store it in the Hotel cellar. Considering how well-equipped the Room is otherwise, I wish there were a slightly larger refrigerator.\n\nThis is a pleasantly intimate Hotel overall, so I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet stay.\nAll staff members were attentive and wonderful.\nIt turned into our best Okinawa trip ever—we’d love to return someday!

I was looking for a Ryokan about an hour’s drive from Hakata where I could enjoy a sauna and great food, and that’s how I found this place. It seems this long-established Ryokan has been renovated into a Ryokan with saunas in every room. The Japanese-modern style was wonderful. There are few shared spaces, so it’s perfect for a relaxing stay-in retreat. The staff were very kind. It has the unique charm of a Ryokan—different from the service style of foreign-owned Hotels. The meals reflected the local flavors of Kyushu and Oita while also trying new ideas, and everything was delicious. Dinner was excellent, of course, but having hitsumabushi for breakfast was a first for me and felt refreshingly new. One of the condiments was yuzu kosho with grated daikon—another great new way to enjoy it. And of course, it was domestic eel! The sauna let us adjust the temperature, connect via Bluetooth, and the relaxation space was very comfortable. Since this is a Ryokan suited to an immersive stay-in retreat, I would have appreciated slightly later check-in and check-out times. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this Ryokan. Thank you!

The view of the calm Seto Inland Sea was breathtaking. Having a golf course right in front added excitement as I imagined playing the next day. Above all, I deeply appreciate the staff's kindness in bringing my husband's forgotten valuables to the station. We are truly grateful for your help and apologize for any inconvenience caused. We will definitely visit again!

Stayed for a Multiple Night Stay in Room 102. Usually, the only interaction with the owner is during checkout, but I deliberately visited the office right after check-in to say hello. I got information about dinner and sightseeing for the next day. It seems there are no restaurants open after 6 PM within walking distance, and even in the main area, places can be fully booked, so if you don't want to cook dinner while staying here, it's better to make a reservation at a restaurant in advance. The room is equipped with a Nespresso coffee maker, but since there is only one coffee capsule per person per day, those who drink several cups should bring their own. There is also an Aeroccino, so it's convenient to buy milk at a nearby convenience store. The mini hot plate, washing machine, and gas clothes dryer were very useful. Breakfast is delivered in a paper bag from a partnered delivery store. Unfortunately, the delivery time could not be specified. On the first day, it was a hamburger and corn soup, and on the second day, an Okinawan seaweed roll with luncheon meat and omelet. It was delicious.

I stayed with my brother's family. The Room had two bedrooms and one tatami room, and one of the tatami rooms and bedrooms was a connecting room separated by a door, so we could watch over the children sleeping alone with peace of mind. Additionally, there was a jacuzzi on the terrace, and although we used it on the coldest day in December, the children were having a great time with maximum excitement (laughs). The living room on the second floor was spacious, and even with eight people, it didn't feel cramped, allowing us to have an enjoyable time. Also, it was convenient to have bathrooms and toilets on both the first and second floors. Personally, the most helpful feature was having a washing machine and dryer. The gas dryer, in particular, was very convenient as it allowed us to quickly take care of the children's clothes without taking much time. Basic appliances were provided, but since there were no pajamas, it might be a good idea to bring your own (as indicated on the site). The surroundings were quite empty, and although it was along the road, we were able to spend our time relatively quietly, allowing the adults to relax while the children had a great time playing on the terrace and in the spacious living room. My brother's family also expressed their gratitude, so I was glad we stayed. Since it can accommodate a large group, I would like to use it again if the opportunity arises.
