I made a Reservation because I was drawn to the title of this Accommodation, and it was absolutely the right choice! This is a simple, historic Accommodation, yet it feels spotless throughout. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles from the staff, and we were very satisfied with the quality of the Onsen water. The “Taste of Local Bounty” dining menu was especially memorable—above all, being able to bite into a whole river fish from head to tail was an experience you won’t find elsewhere.

Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we were very satisfied. The staff were also extremely friendly. Taking off our shoes at the entrance helped us relax even more. We would love to stay again if we have the opportunity!

The Onsen was the best part—absolutely wonderful. The Room was clean and very functional, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. I’d love to stay again as soon as possible, but there was heavy fog on Irohazaka with almost no visibility, which was scary. The expressway also had torrential rain with near-zero visibility, so I’d like to visit again on a clear day with good weather.

I stayed here on the day of the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival. Even though my Shinkansen arrived late, you came to pick me up, which was a great help. Also, being able to use the large public bath 24 hours a day was perfect for soothing my tired body. Staying at NASPA New Otani made this a wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

Everything was high quality, and we had a very comfortable stay. The various services, including the JAN Terrace, were excellent. This is a wonderful Hotel that we would definitely like to visit again.

Although the sky was unfortunately overcast, it was the perfect season to comfortably soak in the lukewarm natural spring water, and it felt wonderful! The meals are delicious and full of healthy options, and combined with the Onsen benefits, I feel better every time I stay. Perhaps because I kept coming back, my frozen shoulder has completely healed! The summer à la carte fried rock oysters were especially delicious—I’d love to have them again next year! This was my first Saturday stay, and I enjoyed listening to a jazz piano performance. It matched beautifully with the mysterious flicker of the bamboo lights in the garden and was incredibly soothing. There were familiar tunes and summer songs, and in the second half they even took requests, so there was a great variety of music and it was truly enjoyable. Ending with “Cradle Song” was also a stylish touch. I’m looking forward to visiting again in autumn.

I personally love the Genroku-no-Yu bath, though it may not be to everyone’s taste. The route to the annex can be hard to find, so it’s best to ask the front desk for clear directions first.

Return Visit Stayed for two nights a few years ago and was amazed by how incredible the Moor Onsen was. They even had our past stay history on record, which really showed their professionalism. At the time, we were a bit bothered by some odors in the Room and Onsen, so we “cheated” for a while with a newer Accommodation nearby (laugh). This time, we made a Reservation for a newly renovated Room. Bottom line: it was excellent! I’m not really into saunas, but I enjoyed it because you can adjust the temperature in various ways and even listen to music. There were plenty of towels, and bathrobes were provided as well. The only downside was that the open-air bath was slightly too hot. The food was delicious, and the service was flawless. If they renovate more guest rooms, we will definitely stay again.

On my first trip to Toyama, I stayed here for two nights during a 4-night, 5-day visit. I chose this Hotel for its convenient access to the trolley train, the wide variety of Toyama local cuisine, the table tennis, and above all, the incredible view from the Room. The Room was even better than I imagined—wonderful and very comfortable. We were lucky with the weather, so we could clearly see the trolley train, and I was moved every day by the beautiful scenery outside the window. The Onsen was somewhat busy at times but still within an acceptable range. The water left my skin feeling smooth. A small issue came up at dinner, but the way it was handled was truly heartfelt. They even gave my son some fireworks, which added something special to our family time together. It’s impressive that their response made me feel not only that it canceled out any inconvenience, but that it almost happened for a reason. I have great respect for the manager who assisted us. Everyone at this Hotel was wonderful—even down to each greeting from staff members. Thank you to the Shuttle Service driver for taking us back and forth to Unazuki Station so many times! And thank you as well to the woman working at the bar counter in the buffet venue for teaching me how to make a recommended delicious drink! Also, thank you for writing a letter for my son—he was deeply touched. He brought it home as a keepsake and is treasuring it. Toyama Prefecture has so much depth—I found many more places I want to visit. After entrance exams are over, I’d like to come again in autumn. This time I debated between a Deluxe Japanese-Western style Room and a Western-style Room, and chose the Western-style one. The Room was amazing, but now I’m curious about the Japanese-Western style too—choosing next time will be exciting. Beyond just the view, as a woman I was also impressed by how high-quality the hair dryer in our Room was. Such great attention to service detail. Is it the same hair dryer in every Room? My hair felt so silky afterward. If there’s one request: I’d be happy if there were women’s amenities in each Room (or at least amenity sets in deluxe Rooms). Some guests may want light makeup after using the Onsen as well; having an amenity set would make an already perfect stay even better. We used this Hotel as our base while sightseeing around various places. Next time I'd like to stay three nights. Thank you very much for everything!

It was a wonderful Ryokan in every respect—hospitality, open-air bath, and meals. I would stay here again.

The facilities were kept very clean, and the staff were kind and attentive, so we had a wonderful stay. Just as we had heard, the hot spring water quality was excellent, and the open-air bath was fantastic. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

All the staff were incredibly cheerful, which made for a very pleasant stay. The building feels a bit old, but it seems to be well maintained and thoroughly cleaned. The baths are also clean. While I was using the large public bath, a staff member came by to check on things and even cleaned up what looked like fallen leaves. I stayed two nights with breakfast and dinner included, and there was such a wide variety of dishes that I never got bored—everything was delicious and very filling.

I had been wanting to stay here for a long time, and my wish finally came true. I was very satisfied with the Onsen and the breakfast and dinner served in semi-private dining areas. If I had to mention something, the parking lot was far away and there were only stairs, so getting around was a bit difficult. Above all, I truly admired the staff’s warm and courteous service.

On the day of our stay, unfortunately it was pouring rain, so we couldn’t go sightseeing. We were cold and soaked, but even though we arrived before check-in, they kindly let us wait in the lobby. They served us hot coffee, and soon after they prepared our Room early for us. Thanks to that, we could change out of our wet clothes and avoid getting sick. The proprietress and all the staff were very kind, and we had a truly comfortable stay. The food was delicious, the Onsen was wonderful—everything was perfect. We’d love to visit again.

This was my second stay. I truly feel from the bottom of my heart that I’m so glad I found Haccho-no-Yu. Thank you always for your heartfelt hospitality. The baths and the Room are wonderful, but above all, the cuisine is exceptional. I thoroughly enjoyed the many creative dishes prepared by the head chef—they were absolutely delicious. The local cuisine was excellent—quite different from the typical tempura or branded beef often found at a Ryokan. There was a wide variety of dishes, and the delicate Japanese seasoning was well received even by my elderly mother. We were also impressed by the thickness of the matsutake mushrooms. After dinner, the traditional Japanese house across from the Accommodation was opened as a lounge, where we could enjoy complimentary self-serve wine, snacks, and coffee. We stayed in a detached annex. Although it looked old from the outside, the interior had been renovated in a modern style with low beds and Ryukyu tatami mats, making it very comfortable. The 800-year-old zelkova tree in the garden (as we were told by staff) was magnificent. The Onsen is free-flowing from its natural source. Perhaps because it was a weekday, there was no need for a Reservation for the private baths and no time limit, so my mother and I could relax at our own pace. My brother also tried both baths and said he didn’t encounter any other guests—it felt completely private. The water is clear with no strong characteristics; at 42°C without added water, it seems ideal for long soaks. However, it was disappointing that soap and shampoo are not allowed in the open-air bath attached to the Room—presumably for environmental reasons—so we could only use it briefly. As for service: there were hardly any staff around reception or near the entrance area, and even the lounge across the street was unattended. With limited staff who seemed busy, there were no lengthy explanations of meal courses or stories about this Accommodation unless you asked. When we did ask questions, they responded politely and kindly with no issues in service overall; however, guests who enjoy conversation with staff or more personal hospitality may find it lacking. Our family prefers unobtrusive service where we’re left to ourselves, so this Accommodation suited us very well. We would like to stay again.

It was a wonderful Accommodation. The staff’s service was very pleasant and made us feel truly comfortable. Their efforts for guests and thoughtful hospitality felt warmly sincere. It is a wonderful Accommodation where you can truly relax. We would love to visit again if we have the chance. It was our first time staying in Nasu, and it became a lovely memory for us. In particular, the male attendant’s lighthearted talk at dinner made everyone smile and created a relaxed atmosphere. Thank you very much. We also visited for an anniversary, and we were very happy to receive such a lovely gift. In fact, we just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. Thank you again for all your kindness and care. A luxury to soak in the hot water while listening to Japanese bush warblers during the day and a chorus of frogs at night. The spring-inspired meals were also delicious and truly enjoyable. There aren’t any particularly special amenities or services, but everything feels comfortable—from walking barefoot on the tatami floors throughout the property to the subtle aroma in the air—and it’s genuinely relaxing. The building seems old, but it’s kept very clean, with no faults at all. It was so quiet that I could clearly hear the pleasant snoring from the next room—perhaps part of its charm. The Onsen is, of course, wonderful as well.\nI would definitely love to visit again.

I visited with my daughter, and from start to finish we were able to relax and enjoy a comfortable, unhurried stay. The Room was clean and simple yet well equipped with everything we needed, and the private open-air bath in the Room—available as many times as we liked at any hour—was truly soothing. The meals were excellent, especially the rice, and we enjoyed hearty dinners and breakfasts. We were also allowed to bring our own alcohol, so we brought a local wine; glasses were kindly provided, and it seemed other guests also brought their own drinks and enjoyed them in their own way. The proprietress’s hospitality was thoughtful without being overbearing—she checked in at just the right moments with a gentle word—and the pleasant atmosphere throughout made this a wonderful Accommodation that I’d love to visit again next time with my husband.

I stayed for one night while sightseeing in Otaru. The Hotel has great access to the main street, and there is a convenience store right next door, which was very convenient. Breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, all delicious—I was almost disappointed that I couldn’t finish everything. Since the Hotel is new, it was clean overall, but it was a bit disappointing to find mold around the Room’s plumbing areas (such as the base of the sink faucet and the corners of the bathtub). That said, the staff were courteous and helpful, and I had a comfortable stay. I would like to stay here again when I visit Otaru.
