It was my first time in Hanamaki, a town that brings to mind Kenji Miyazawa and Shohei Ohtani. I arrived in just under an hour by shuttle bus from Shin-Hanamaki Station. This is a wonderful Ryokan with the nostalgic charm of the Showa era, exactly as I had imagined. I arrived after 4:00 p.m., and since dinner started at 5:30 p.m., I hurried to the Onsen. First was “Katsura-no-Yu.” After washing, I headed to the open-air bath. Watching my step, I made my way down to the lower bath and soaked slowly while looking out over the mountain stream—pure bliss. After a short break, I tried “Hakuen-no-Yu,” the most famous standing bath here. For me, the water at “Hakuen-no-Yu” felt softer. Dinner was very lavish; we also added sea bream and crab shabu-shabu. Everything tasted excellent, and I enjoyed every last bite. After that—and again the next morning—I soaked in the Onsen about three more times in total; it truly was an Onsen-filled stay. My favorites were “Hakuen-no-Yu” for its soft water and the open-air bath at “Katsura-no-Yu,” where you can relax while gazing at the stream. The Onsen was so good that I even made a Reservation for November on my way home. Next time, I plan to stay at “Jusangatsu.”

We stayed here as a couple to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The Onsen was wonderful. Thank you for the complimentary champagne service at dinner.

We were very satisfied with everything—the staff’s service, the atmosphere of the Accommodation, and the meals. We had an unexpected issue on our side, but they responded kindly and supportively, and we are truly grateful.

I stayed here last year as well. This time, I was looking forward to it because the dining had changed to a buffet. It’s an à la carte buffet where you order each dish one by one, and I was surprised at how thoughtfully crafted each menu item was. Of course, the flavors were exactly to my taste. They also offer wines and sake that pair well with each dish. What I love about this place is that it isn’t very large, so they can provide this kind of attentive service—I was really impressed. And of course, dining while watching the sunset is a truly luxurious experience. I’d love to stay again. Honestly, I always admire the chefs—every property in this group serves food that perfectly suits my tastes.

The Onsen was simply wonderful! Since we were traveling as a couple, we used the private family bath, and we slept soundly afterward. It was also lovely to soak in the footbath while watching the koi. Depending on the day of the week, there’s almost nothing around nearby, so you may want to have dinner at the Hotel or eat elsewhere in advance so you can relax. Also, I understand the eco-friendly approach with fewer amenities, but it would be very helpful if at least facial lotion were provided. Still, breakfast was delicious, and overall I’m truly glad we stayed!

Thank you as always for your hospitality. The meals are delicious, and the staff are very friendly. I like it so much that I stay here several times a year. As a smoker, I truly appreciate this hotel at a time when more and more hotels are becoming non-smoking. I look forward to staying with you again.

Due to my daughter's work, we urgently searched for accommodation in Tateyama and stayed at Chikurakan. The wallpaper in the room was blue, but there were noticeable scratches and peeling here and there. A white color might give a cleaner impression. The futon was quite thin, making my body stiff. Also, the air conditioner stopped blowing air, and although a staff member fixed it for us, it only worked at 22 degrees Celsius, so we shivered through the night (laughs). As for the baths: the smaller one is 100% natural hot spring with lukewarm water; the larger one is 50% natural hot spring with hotter water. Alternating between them warmed up our bodies wonderfully. However, the steps of the smaller bath were slippery—many guests seemed to have dangerous slips. My daughter and I also hit our arms hard; this should be addressed somehow. For meals, we had a course that included spiny lobster along with abalone and large clams—all very delicious overall! The freshly cooked rice was also satisfying. Lastly, if I may add: all staff members lacked friendliness—they seemed to speak strictly according to manuals without conveying any sense of hospitality toward guests, which was disappointing.

We used the Parent-and-Child Trip Plan and the 50+ & Weekday Plan. Our Room was a Japanese-modern suite with a Shigaraki-ware open-air bath (smoking allowed). Spacious and comfortable! The bed was great too! And with breakfast and dinner included, it was just over JPY 11,000 per person—such a good deal! I use e-cigarettes, but even though an ashtray was provided, the Room didn’t smell of smoke at all, so I felt bad and ended up smoking outside. There are ashtrays in several places within the Facility, which was helpful. There isn’t much around within walking distance, so we decided to enjoy our time at the Accommodation. The karaoke was busy, but we managed to get a one-hour slot (additional charge). The karaoke room is quite spacious. The baths do not allow tattoos. My daughter used the public bath while I used the tub in our Room. She said the public bath felt wonderful. The in-room bath was also very comfortable with a nice view. One thing to note: I couldn’t find a faucet for washing up by the bath—maybe there was one? Since there is a separate shower room, I washed there and then moved to the bath. The bathroom door has good soundproofing, so noise hardly reached the bedroom. I relaxed while playing music on my phone. One more thing... The bathroom is fully visible from the bedroom, so when my daughter wanted to use it, I went for a walk outside. A small screen or partition would be helpful. There were bathrobes, but only two small towels and no bath towels. I had brought my own and used that; if you hang it on a hanger it dries quickly. The tub is fairly large and deep—very comfortable. We often stay at Livemax when exploring around Izu, and this place also has great food. I like lively buffet atmospheres, so we enjoyed it here as well. All-you-can-eat salmon roe at both dinner and breakfast—this was amazing! Dinner items like meat and shrimp sashimi were great too, and breakfast breads and egg dishes were delicious. The shower head, hair dryer, and iron were all ReFa—my daughter was thrilled. They really are nice. From check-in to check-out, all staff provided excellent service. Service in the restaurant was also attentive, making our time very comfortable overall. Thanks to you all, my daughter and I had a wonderful trip. Thank you! *One small concern: When we entered the Room there were empty cans and some trash left in the bin. It seemed like something had been missed during cleaning—and I also wondered why someone would throw cans into that bin.

I treat myself by staying here once a month.\nAfter taking a bath and enjoying a lymphatic massage, my body feels deeply relaxed.\nI look forward to visiting again next month.

This is a wonderful hot spring inn. Thank you for such a memorable stay. Even though it was late August and mosquitoes wouldn’t have been surprising, I didn’t get bitten in the open-air bath (I think I stayed about an hour), so I was able to relax and soak at ease. To be honest, two weeks earlier at another hot spring there were mosquitoes even in the indoor bath and it was a terrible experience, so I was a bit nervous—but I guess it’s because the greenery here is so well maintained. The private open-air bath was also excellent. The meals were outstanding in both presentation and taste. The dinner boat platter—and all-you-can-eat—was amazing, and then I was impressed again by how beautiful breakfast looked! I will definitely come back again. The only slight negative point: at the welcome drink area there was someone like a bartender, but although we made eye contact, they didn’t say anything, so for a moment I wasn’t sure whether it was okay to help myself. Since they could tell we were checking in, if they are going to be there, I thought a brief word would have been nice. On the other hand, the person who drove us to the inn by car was very kind and pleasant. Thank you very much.

The Facility had a charming retro Showa-era vibe and a great atmosphere. The baths included an open-air bath and a sauna. There was no cold plunge pool, but I still felt refreshed. The Room was shared by four people, with two beds (Simmons) and two sets of futons, so it was spacious and comfortable. Meals were buffet-style with all-you-can-drink options, with beer including The Premium Malt’s and Shizuoka Mugishu. There was only one type of sake (a bit disappointing). They also had lemon sours, whisky, and shochu. There were plump, thick eel dishes, Hamamatsu gyoza, and a self-serve hot pot, and overall I was very satisfied with the selection. In the morning, we ate while looking out over the lakeside view. There were guests from various backgrounds, but the 분위phere felt calm, so we could relax peacefully. I’d like to stay again if I have the chance.

I traveled with my partner. The Hotel felt a bit old, but all the staff we passed greeted us warmly and cheerfully, which was very pleasant. They promptly assisted with the reservation call for river rafting and handled it efficiently. The meals in the morning and evening had a wide variety of dishes, were visually colorful, and used local ingredients, which I appreciated. The chicken in the hot pot was delicious, as was the rice. I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Next time, I’d like to try river rafting too!

Five siblings stayed here together. Our Room was on the second floor, but because the Accommodation is on a hill, we had a great view over the green trees and the Onsen town. The spacious bedroom and Japanese-style room can be separated with sliding doors, which helped us catch up on sleep after the ferry ride. The floor chairs were also very helpful for our elderly family members, and we appreciated the thoughtful touch of having a coffee maker in the Room. We were also grateful that you accommodated an allergy request even though we had failed to inform you in advance. The meals were delicious as well—beautifully presented creative dishes with wonderful colors. The Hotel’s atmosphere, furniture, and furnishings felt beautiful, as everything is carefully maintained and used with respect despite its age. We love Kyushu, so when we visit Beppu again, we would like to stay here again.

The bath was very relaxing. The view was great. The food was also delicious. I had imagined traditional ryokan-style Japanese meals, but instead we enjoyed a delicious course-style dinner.

The Room, bath, and meals were all wonderful, and we were very satisfied. However, the Wi-Fi listed was not accessible at all, so I think it needs improvement. Still, we treated it as a digital detox and were able to relax. Thank you for your hospitality.

A luxury to soak in the hot water while listening to Japanese bush warblers during the day and a chorus of frogs at night. The spring-inspired meals were also delicious and truly enjoyable. There aren’t any particularly special amenities or services, but everything feels comfortable—from walking barefoot on the tatami floors throughout the property to the subtle aroma in the air—and it’s genuinely relaxing. The building seems old, but it’s kept very clean, with no faults at all. It was so quiet that I could clearly hear the pleasant snoring from the next room—perhaps part of its charm. The Onsen is, of course, wonderful as well.\nI would definitely love to visit again.

I stayed for one night as an Accommodation stop during a drive because it caught my interest. Although this Ryokan has many international staff members, everyone was very kind and attentive, and I felt they were well trained. The food was delicious, and I was able to relax without worrying much about other guests. Thank you very much, Kazenomori.

This was my fifth stay. I visited this time for my birthday. Because it was my birthday, they upgraded me to a suite Room, and I was truly touched by their thoughtfulness. The Room was spacious, spotless, and absolutely wonderful. As always, the meals were consistently delicious. The vegetables here are especially outstanding. It was my first time trying the egg tart, and it was perfectly flaky and very tasty. I don’t drink alcohol, but their decaffeinated coffee is excellent. When I asked for it, they even went out of their way to prepare and bring it to me, saying it’s “difficult to brew.” I really appreciated that kind of attentive service. For those who do drink alcohol, I think this Hotel must feel like heaven. All of the staff are kind and courteous. In particular, the front desk service was exceptional. Since I’ve stayed several times before, they skipped unnecessary explanations when appropriate—flexibly adjusting to the situation—which I found wonderful. The bath area was also well cleaned, and I’m happy that Sekkisei amenities are available. Before entering the bath, I heard another guest mention that something had run out, but it seemed to be replenished frequently; by the time I finished bathing, it had been properly restocked. The only disappointment this time was that because of the rain I couldn’t see Mt. Daisen, but the night view toward Yonago was beautiful. After five stays here in total, once again I felt this is an Accommodation where you’ll want to return again and again.

I stayed here to attend a live show at Tokyo Garden Theater. It’s not far from the nearest stations on the Rinkai Line or the private Yurikamome Line, and it’s right next to Ariake Garden, with an Onsen, theaters, and shopping. You can even get there from the Hotel without an umbrella on rainy days. I’ve never stayed at such a convenient Hotel before. The Hotel was also very clean, and the seafood rice bowl at breakfast is something you rarely find elsewhere. The staff were always smiling, and I’d definitely like to stay here again for my next concert. Tokyo Disneyland is also within about 30 minutes, which is great for families who want to split up and do different things.

First time visiting. All the staff were kind and courteous, and check-in was quick, so we were able to get into our Room early and relax. The steak and roast beef set meal brought to our Room was very delicious. In the morning, we also enjoyed breakfast, including egg dishes such as a tasty omelet. The large public bath and open-air bath felt too hot for me. Even the indoor bath somehow felt a bit hot as well. There was also a sauna and cold plunge pool, so we were able to enjoy the Onsen. Although the facilities are old, they are well maintained, and we could feel thoughtful attention to detail everywhere.
