A bit pricey, but the furniture and beds are high quality, and the place feels clean and upscale. The tableware and kitchen tools were also stylish and easy to use. What felt most comfortable was the spacious entryway area with a large pet toilet—thoughtfully set up so our dog was less likely to have accidents, which let us relax without worry. The sauna is also well designed with a great flow from the bath, making it very comfortable. We’d love to stay again!

The Accommodation, the staff, the meals, and the Onsen were all outstanding. The meat and eggs in particular were unforgettable. If I visit Yufuin again, I will definitely stay here!

This was our second stay as a couple with our dog. Because it is a private rental house with exterior walls, we didn’t have to worry about the surroundings and were able to relax and enjoy a luxurious time in the Room. For meals, the ingredients were prepared in the refrigerator and we cooked for ourselves, but the recipes made it easy to prepare everything smoothly. We also appreciated that the menu was different on the second night, so we never got bored. The staff were very polite and kind. Even if we had questions, we could reach them by phone, which made us feel at ease throughout our stay. It was also great fun chatting during check-in and check-out. Our dog looked happy from start to finish. It was an Accommodation that makes us want to come back again for sure.

We were satisfied with everything—the guest room, the private open-air bath, and the restaurant. The retro furnishings in the room were truly comforting, and we were impressed by the thoughtful care in the meals. We enjoyed a level of luxury that exceeded the price. This is a Hotel we would love to visit again. The Hotel staff were also wonderful. As I get older, I find peace in an Accommodation like this. I hadn’t had many chances to visit Chichibu before, but this was an excellent Hotel as a base for visiting Mitsumine Shrine, Chichibu Shrine, and Hodosan Shrine (the Chichibu Three Shrines pilgrimage), as well as sightseeing in Nagatoro. I stayed here with my mother. The Accommodation was spotless, and the meals were thoughtfully prepared and truly delicious! Above all, the hospitality from everyone at the Accommodation was outstanding. When I come to Yufuin again, it’s not just that I want to stay in Yufuin—I want to visit Yufuin so I can stay at this Accommodation.

Everything exceeded our expectations in every way. The Room was spacious, spotless, and very well maintained. Every staff member was friendly and provided warm, welcoming service. The meals were delicious, and the private Onsen allowed us to relax at our own pace—it was perfect. We would love to visit again in a different season.

Thank you very much for everything. Choosing this place for a long-awaited reunion with our friends as a couple was absolutely the right decision. We booked two Rooms, and although we spent time together except when sleeping, the space was spacious and comfortable. We got so caught up chatting that we used the bath twice a day, morning and night, and our friends were also impressed by how wonderful it was. Thank you to T, whom M recommended. The conversation was enjoyable, and we truly had a great time—you completely won us over. The four of us were able to enjoy delicious food in a spacious private dining Room. We would be happy if we could see M and T again next time.

We stayed for one night in Yayoi in July with our dog as a couple. We’ve stayed at many dog-friendly Accommodations, and this is the best one for us. I especially love sulfur Onsen, and while other dog-friendly Accommodations we’ve stayed at had Onsen, none had sulfur springs. Here, there is also a free-flowing natural hot spring bath in the Room, so we didn’t have to leave our dog waiting to go to a public bath. Even though many places don’t allow dogs in the bathroom area, this Accommodation provided a dog bathtub, shampoo, and towels—I've never stayed anywhere so thoughtful. Our senior large dog kept coming to watch us enjoy the Onsen with curiosity. Just walking through the spilled water from the free-flowing sulfur spring at the washing area turned his rough, cracked paw pads into smooth ones—just like the Reviews said. It’s truly an amazing Onsen. The Imabari bath towel after bathing was fluffy and very comfortable. Since it was a No Meals Included stay, we mainly brought takeout from Nasu restaurants. We also bought Nasu cheese and sausages along with drinks and snacks, and picked up bread and yogurt for breakfast at a nearby shop before heading to the Accommodation. With the best sulfur Onsen, delicious food and drinks from Nasu, a quiet setting, we were able to relax completely. Our dog also seemed very satisfied with the cool highland climate, peaceful greenery-filled surroundings, and private feel without running into other dogs—he looked truly relaxed. All of us were soothed by both nature and the Onsen and went home extremely happy. My husband said he wants to come again in winter too—so we’ll be making another Reservation. The building features German architecture with meticulous craftsmanship down to the smallest details, and the striking fireplace is lit with logs at dinnertime, soothing you with the gentle crackle and flicker of the flames. The meals were also outstanding French cuisine. The tableware and cutlery are excellent as well, making the dining experience even better. Elegant Lladró pieces add a touch of color to the Room. In every respect, you can truly feel the host’s heartfelt hospitality.

This was my second stay. As before, the hotel had a calm atmosphere and the breakfast was delicious, so I was very satisfied. The bed was large, and my wife and I were able to sleep comfortably. The location is directly connected to the station with easy access to central Tokyo, and I would like to stay here again in the future.

Located about an hour from Shinjuku and easy to reach, yet once you step inside, a beautiful, nature-filled garden unfolds and makes you forget everyday life in an instant. The Room was also wonderful—said to be a favorite of Hayao Miyazaki—with thoughtful details throughout, from the view from the round in-room bath to the uniquely textured corridors, creating a truly charming atmosphere. From arrival to departure, the staff’s warm hospitality and attentive care made our family feel completely at ease, allowing us to spend a very comfortable and happy time.

Stayed on the 11th-floor ladies-only floor. The view was great, and the Room had a calm atmosphere, so I had a very comfortable stay. The two paintings were lovely, and I felt the colors and materials of the furnishings, along with the soft warm lighting, were thoughtfully designed for women. The female staff member at the front desk was also very kind and helpful. This is a Hotel I would like to use again.

This is a relaxing Accommodation. The staff always welcome us warmly. There are also several international staff members, and I’m impressed by how well they speak Japanese. I hope they keep up the great work. The food is delicious, and no matter how many times I have it, I never get tired of it. This time, I tried the Western-style breakfast for the first time, and it was quite good. I will visit again. Thank you very much.

Both the Room and the in-house Facility were still new, so we were able to use them comfortably. After dinner out, we used the all-you-can-drink plan at the on-site restaurant. I think it’s an affordable and great service. If I have the chance, I’d like to stay again.

My parents, my younger brother, my child, and I stayed here using two cars this time. Since there is a drop-off parking area in front of the Hotel, it was easy to unload and check in with my child, and we could take our luggage to the Room in one trip. The parking lot was also close by, spacious, and easy to park in! The Room was clean, and my child made a beeline for the hammock chair! They enjoyed it with a big smile—and it was fun for adults to use too. My child was fascinated by the manual coffee grinder provided in the Room. They ground the beans themselves and made coffee for the whole family! My parents were delighted by coffee prepared by their grandchild. Seeing my child look so proud was adorable! We used the baths a lot (we tried all of the private baths), so being able to get drinks and replenish salt anytime was really appreciated. The meals were delicious—I ate so much I felt stuffed (lol). It was great that my child, who usually watches a lot of TV, had so much fun playing table tennis—we all enjoyed it as a family! My child got the most exercise there. We also enjoyed karaoke—there never seemed to be enough time. All of the staff were kind and attentive with their explanations and support, which made our stay very comfortable. We would love to stay again!

I considered an Accommodation on the Nagara River because I wanted to show my daughter cormorant fishing. An Onsen Accommodation would have been nice, but we wanted a buffet-style meal, so we chose this Hotel. It was an extremely hot day, and the moment we stepped into the Hotel, the cool air revived us. As a Diamond member benefit, I was happy to receive a one-drink service in the first-floor lounge. The Room we were assigned was on a high floor with a great view, and it was spotless—truly impressive. The dinner buffet isn’t in a huge restaurant, but the quality of the dishes served was excellent, and we enjoyed everything. Drink prices were reasonable for a Hotel, and since it was before cormorant fishing, my daughter and I each enjoyed one drink. We used taxis for round-trip transportation to the cormorant fishing site, which made it very comfortable. Even though it was hot that day, there was a pleasant river breeze, and it helped us forget the daytime heat for a while. Because the river level was low, it seems they didn’t actually catch many ayu, but being able to see energetic cormorants up close made it a great experience. At breakfast, there were many inbound guests early on, but they cleared out quickly, so we were able to eat in peace. The well-known ayu rice porridge was delicious—I went back for seconds several times. The selection of dishes also reflected local flavors well, with various Gifu specialties, which I appreciated. For morning fruit there were oranges, pineapple, and lychees; I’d be happier if there were a few more options. I liked the selection at the shop as well. If I had one request, I would truly appreciate Shuttle Service from the station to the Hotel. As expected of an established Hotel with history behind it, my daughter and I enjoyed an elegant stay. Thank you very much.

The breakfast and dinner buffets were outstanding and truly exciting. I was especially amazed by the wide variety of breads at breakfast. Everything was delicious, but I regret that I couldn’t try them all. We also enjoyed drinks and sweets in the lovely lounge, and the staff’s attentive service made our stay very comfortable. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again.

I saw in a Review that the breakfast was delicious. Since it’s good value, I can’t complain too much, but it tasted average and there weren’t many items. Guests kept coming and going, but although there were many staff in the kitchen, no one was on the floor, so the tables were not wiped after use. Salad vegetables that guests had likely spilled were left there and not cleaned up. Overall, the Room was clean and the amenities were well stocked. I felt the complimentary coffee near the front desk was bitter and not very good. I arrived before check-in, but they said my Room was ready, so I could get in early, which I appreciated.

I’m truly glad I stayed at Hanaougi. Everyone at the Ryokan, especially our attendant, was wonderful—kind, attentive, and courteous—so we were able to relax and enjoy a very comfortable stay. The food was absolutely delicious, and I also appreciated the careful explanation of each dish. It was memorable to see local Hida/Takayama ingredients and regional cuisine incorporated into the meals, making it a wonderful travel experience. The guest room was spotless and thoughtfully maintained down to the smallest details, with excellent amenities. The open-air bath was outstanding as well, allowing us to spend a slow and luxurious time. I was completely satisfied with everything—hospitality, cuisine, room, and Onsen. You can really feel how much care is put into this Ryokan; it’s a place that made me think, “I definitely want to come back.” Thank you very much.

You can get here from Nagaoka Station without getting wet even when it rains, and there are plenty of restaurants around the Hotel, so you won’t have any trouble finding a place to eat. Above all, the price is very reasonable, so I made another Reservation. There is a free coffee machine in the lobby, and while the Hotel itself doesn’t seem new, the room feels clean. The staff were also pleasant and helpful.
