Stayed for one night over the weekend. Reserved the heated pool and spent the entire stay enjoying it morning, noon, and night. In the evening, we had a BBQ, and in the morning, we cooked with locally sourced ingredients using bread purchased from a nearby bakery. The view of trees, pool, sea, blue sky through glass windows, and even the sound of Enoden trains created an extraordinary atmosphere that felt luxurious. The room was well-equipped with magazines, pool toys, a Switch console, dishes and glasses, cooking utensils, a jacuzzi—everything you could need—making time fly by. I would love to visit again!

It was our first visit, and it turned into an even better weekend than we expected. After making the Reservation, we were happy to receive an email with recommendations for stylish spots nearby. It saved us the trouble of researching on our own and gave us peace of mind. They also share what to bring and other helpful details, so checking your email is a must. We had lunch at a galette restaurant on the way from the station to the Accommodation, then did some shopping and, after check-in, spent the whole time at the Accommodation. Check-in seems to be controlled by an automatic lock system, so you can’t enter until check-in time. (We arrived about 15 minutes early, so we waited in the car for a bit before checking in.) Sauna → taking our time cooking dinner → staying up late with wine. The next morning: sauna right after waking up, brunch, and coffee. We relaxed as if we were at home while enjoying a truly luxurious stay. The sauna was spacious and got properly hot, and the cold plunge was icy—incredible. (It snowed that day, so I think it may have been close to single digits in °C...) In the Room there were high-quality seasonings and natural wines available for an additional fee. We had no trouble cooking meals there, but if you want to make more elaborate dishes using lots of spices or herbs, bringing those along would make it perfect. Lastly, winter driving conditions made us a little nervous. There was snow buildup and black ice on the road in front of the Accommodation, so please be careful as it can be slippery. In winter, studless tires are a must—and having chains would give extra peace of mind. It feels like a place you could enjoy in any season—we’d love to come back in spring, summer, and autumn too!

I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities and services, which exceeded my expectations. We stayed as a group of six, and the space was more than sufficient. The interior had a log cabin style, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Being deep in the mountains, we could enjoy BBQ without worrying much about noise and had a stress-free stay. The owner kindly assisted us with shuttle service, starting the BBQ fire, taking group photos, and more, making us feel very welcomed. I would love to stay here again. Thank you so much!

It was my first time staying with Sanu, and I’d love to come back again. As soon as we arrived, the scent of wood greeted us, and the Room was clean and comfortable. We were able to relax with our dog on the raised platform area. Also, because meals weren’t provided, we could visit our favorite bakeries for breakfast, and choose between cooking dinner ourselves or eating out—so it felt like living there while still being able to refresh. It was a shame that the bathroom was small and there wasn’t space to put things in the washroom area, but otherwise we were very satisfied.

The location was excellent, right in the middle of Chinatown. Although we didn’t use them this time, there were appliances, pots, and plates available for self-catering, which was very convenient. However, the water pressure in the shower was very weak, and it felt cold during winter.

We requested to check in 30 minutes earlier, and the request was kindly accepted, allowing us to rest from our long drive in the room. The accommodation is equipped with cooking utensils, tableware, and appliances, making it enjoyable to cook in the charming kitchen during a long stay. Delicious bread and coffee were provided for breakfast, which was very helpful. The water facilities have been renovated and are stylish yet clean. The interior retains a nostalgic retro Showa-era charm that creates a relaxing atmosphere. The owner's personality and sense of style were evident throughout the accommodation. We would love to make another reservation if we have the chance!

I had a very quiet and comfortable stay during my previous visit, so this time I chose a Multiple Night Stay. Located in the heart of Tsukahara Highlands, it was incredibly peaceful, and despite staying at the end of July, the nights were cool and comfortable without needing air conditioning. We enjoyed barbecues for two consecutive days after purchasing ingredients in Yufu City. I selected the Botiboti Room. The outdoor bath allowed us to relax while gazing at the starry sky, alternating between warming up in the bath and cooling off on an outdoor bench in the night breeze—a truly serene experience. On our second day, we even spotted a family of deer during our stay, which thrilled the children immensely. The bath is spacious; filling it with hot water made it just right for soaking comfortably. The owner was kind and approachable, providing detailed guidance with great care. I would love to stay here again when visiting Oita!

I especially enjoyed chatting with the front desk staff, and it was a cozy, hidden-gem Accommodation where I felt very comfortable. I also had some of the bread on the second floor, and it was delicious. It was very helpful that they could store my luggage even after check-out. When I visit Ise again, I would definitely like to stay here!

We stayed here with our child. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked with dishes, so we cooked breakfast and dinner during our stay. (There are no seasonings, so you’ll need to buy them at a supermarket.) Having a washer and dryer was also a huge help when traveling with kids. Best of all, there were plenty of toys and picture books for children, so we could relax even on rainy days. Highly recommended for families with young children. We had a small issue during our stay as well, but it was handled promptly.

The stairs were probably tough for Grandma, but we all had a lively and enjoyable stay. The weather stayed sunny the whole time, so we were able to fully enjoy our post–Golden Week trip to Onomichi. It’s also close to the station, with a diner and bakery open from the morning nearby. Since we wanted plenty of ice for evening drinks, we bought some at AEON about a 15–20 minute walk away. Requests: Use of the parking lot before check-in. Please reduce the room fragrance slightly (I liked it, but our child didn’t). The triangular sink strainer for food waste is unstable. The garbage sorting rules were unclear. The frying pan sticks/burns easily. It would be helpful to have a basket to carry items when eating on the terrace. What we liked: Very clean—everything was spotless. There were plenty of towels, and hand towels were already set up in the restroom. Aluminum foil had been placed in the toaster for us as well. Next time, I’d love to ride the Shimanami Kaido by rental bicycle or rental bike. Everyone said they’d like to come again too, so when we have time, we’ll definitely stay again. Thank you very much.

I often visit the nearby shops, so I’d been curious about this place for a while and decided to stay. It’s set slightly back from the main street, but the attached bakery is delicious, and there are many great restaurants nearby, making it a very convenient location. The interior has a modern Japanese style, and the solid wood flooring feels great even barefoot. The standout feature is the large hinoki bath. Even tall guests can stretch their legs out comfortably, and the scent of hinoki is very relaxing. It’s rare to find such a large hinoki bath even at other Hotels. The tub can also be filled automatically, which was fantastic. All Facilities are up to date, and there was nothing inconvenient compared with staying at a Hotel. Since this is a renovated property with traditional-sized beams, guests over 180 cm may bump their head, so please be careful—it’s annoying at first but you get used to it. There are some downsides—like the TV being hard to figure out and the stairs being steep—but the biggest thing to note is that because this Facility shares space with shops, you can hear more noise than expected from early morning as the bakery prepares for opening. During the day as well, you can clearly hear customers and probably children of people eating in. From the large opening at the back of the second floor and from the rear garden area, you can also smell bread coming in from the bakery. Whether this feels noisy or adds to its machiya character may depend on personal preference. There were moments when it didn’t feel very calm, but overall it was a good experience. Thank you very much.

We stayed here with six people in late July. We didn’t receive an email from the owner, so we contacted IKYU, and they responded promptly. As noted on the site, there is no air conditioning on the second floor where the bedrooms are. In midsummer, when the roof heats up, it may feel quite hot. Other than that, the interior is stylish and well designed, and there were plenty of cooking utensils. There was also a Balmuda toaster, making cooking very comfortable. In the morning, we enjoyed breakfast on the cool terrace. Even with six loud women traveling together, we were able to chat as much as we wanted. Next time, I’d like to visit in a season when we can use the fireplace. I’d also like to check out nearby cafes and bakeries.

This is a wonderful Accommodation and ideal for adults. Many Facilities have been upgraded since last year, making it an even more favorite place to stay, except that some doors fit less well than before. The owner’s personality is also excellent.

We stayed as a group of 10 across three families and enjoyed a comfortable time with the spacious living-dining area, rooms for the children, and separate family rooms. The fact that there were three showers and toilets was great for ensuring privacy! For meals, we considered hiring a private chef but decided to cook together while enjoying drinks at our own pace. It would be nice if the private chef option included Western cuisine as well. During our stay, we visited local supermarkets such as Delicia, Big (AEON), and A-Coop. Among them, A-Coop is recommended for its variety of vegetables and selection of prepared foods. For breakfast or snacks, we recommend visiting the bakery just one minute away on foot (Sakurara Confectionery). Their rice flour donuts were chewy and delicious! Our favorite spot in the accommodation was the dining table (180×180 cm), which had an excellent square shape and size for group meals! Even with many people seated around it, conversations felt comfortably close yet not crowded. Additionally, the BANG & OLUFSEN speakers were very stylish with excellent sound quality! We highly recommend using them in stereo mode. Please note that connecting via Bluetooth may only link to one speaker; it seems necessary to select AirPlay for proper stereo connection. While some parts of the manual could be improved regarding these features, we appreciated how helpful JADE Group staff were over phone calls and on-site support when needed! Although vacation rentals can sometimes raise concerns about support services, everything from pre-arrival phone assistance to post-arrival hospitality was excellent. We had a truly pleasant stay. We look forward to staying at another property from this group in the future!

A renovated traditional Japanese house Accommodation located at the top of a mountain road. The old beams and fittings have been preserved or beautifully repurposed, so it doesn’t feel outdated at all. Since the owner built it personally, there are a few small details that may feel slightly unfinished, but the space is very comfortable, with thoughtful touches in the furniture and decor throughout. I asked to change the schedule at short notice, and they kindly accommodated my request, which I truly appreciated. For the barbecue, they also showed us—together with our child—how to prepare the firewood and charcoal, which made our child very happy. It became a wonderful summer memory for us.

Stayed on the last day of Obon, 8/16. It was over 36°C in the lower areas that day, but thanks to the shade from the trees, it felt much cooler, and we were able to stay in the cottage without air conditioning. I was slightly worried due to reviews mentioning musty bedding, but there was no such issue, and we had a very comfortable stay. The next day, my daughter seemed to have lost her binoculars while playing mini-golf. When I inquired later, one of the staff members kindly searched around the mini-golf parking lot, benches, and course despite the heat. Although they couldn’t find it at that time, they later discovered it on another day at a further part of the course and contacted us by matching our memory with their accommodation records. My daughter cherished those binoculars for birdwatching and was thrilled when they were found. A big thank you to both the staff member who searched for them in such hot weather and those who eventually found them! Truly impressive service from PICA—your staff is top-notch! We will definitely visit again!
