All staff were wonderful and attentive. Thank you for accommodating my husband’s dietary preferences. The food was delicious, and the beautiful tableware made it a feast for the eyes as well. The Room was lovely, and the bath was spacious, allowing us to relax and enjoy the Onsen at our leisure—we were impressed by everything. Thank you very much.

A spacious, stylish Room. The lush green trees seen through the large windows were wonderful. The open-air bath had excellent water quality and the temperature was just right—so relaxing. All of the staff were very kind and lovely. We chose the counter kappo dining, and each dish prepared right in front of us and served with plating and explanations was deeply flavorful and delicious. With the Shuttle Service, we also visited Aquaignis, where we fully enjoyed the large public bath, spa treatments, bread, desserts—everything. At the summit of Mt. Gozaisho (reached by ropeway), it was a bit cooler and perfect for a pleasant walk. I’d love to visit again in a different season. If we choose another Room that caught our interest and select different meals, it feels like it would be a completely different trip. Though honestly, the counter kappo was so good that we might choose it again. My mother was also very happy. Thank you very much. The breakfast rice, grilled nori seaweed, and local chicken miso soup were especially delicious.

The kindness of the staff, the comfort of the Room, and the truly delicious cuisine—everything was as wonderful as always. It has been three years since reopening, and I was heartbroken to hear the sad news that it will close in November. I am truly disappointed and at a loss for words. It was a superb auberge. I will visit again before it closes.

As mentioned in the reviews, the staff at the accommodation were very considerate, and the accommodation itself, with its 100-year history, provided a relaxing and leisurely experience. Meals were served in the room with a variety of dishes, all of which were delicious. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed them. However, the "Sennin Bath" being mixed-gender made it uncomfortable for women to enter. As noted in reviews, there seemed to be men lingering near the entrance, which was disappointing. On the other hand, we appreciated being able to reserve a private bath that was spacious and enjoyable.

I stayed here again on a trip to Kyoto with my daughter. As always, I was completely satisfied with the hospitality, the food, and the location. In every situation, the staff’s service was truly outstanding. I would definitely like to stay here again in the future.

We stayed here on this trip, and it was a thoroughly satisfying stay in every way. The cuisine, in particular, was outstanding—not only was each dish carefully prepared, but the thoughtfully selected tableware complemented the food beautifully, making it a wonderful experience for both the eyes and the palate. At dinner, we were given detailed explanations of each dish, which helped us enjoy everything even more. The attentive hospitality left a lasting impression. Breakfast exceeded our expectations as well. The rice was truly delicious—both my wife and I ended up having seconds. It was a fantastic breakfast that made for a great start to the day. The Onsen was also excellent; not only the large public bath but even the bath in our Room was more than satisfying. My wife especially loved the in-room bath and said it made her want to soak again and again—she enjoyed it to the fullest throughout our stay. We also enjoyed Kyoritsu Group’s signature late-night soba, which became one of our evening highlights. Above all, what impressed us most was the warm and courteous service from all staff members. We felt comfortable throughout our stay and could sense their genuine hospitality everywhere. This was a wonderful Onsen Accommodation that truly made us want to return. We’re grateful to everyone on staff for helping us spend such precious time here, and we would love to visit again in another season.

As it is newly built, everything was new and clean, including the Room. It was raining heavily when we arrived and my carry-on suitcase got quite wet, but a staff member wiped it down for us. Since it’s a bit of a walk from the station, it was a little tough in heavy rain. When entering the building, you take off your shoes and put them in the shoe locker, but since they go in while still wet, they hadn’t dried by morning. I later found out that disposable slippers are also available in the Room; I would have appreciated being asked or informed at check-in.

At this Hotel with wonderful interiors, I was able to relax in the Onsen, enjoy truly delicious vegan cuisine, and spend a very happy time. All of the staff were kind, helpful, and courteous—I was truly impressed. Next year, I’d love to stay for about a week and enjoy a slow summer vacation. It was such a lovely summer that it made me hope I could spend my retirement at a Hotel like this.

Although we traveled during extreme heat, the moment we stepped into the Hotel amid the bustle of Arashiyama, it felt like a different world, welcomed by a white garden. We arrived early, but they kindly showed us to our Room since it was already prepared, which made us very happy. The Room was stylish and comfortable. The view from the balcony and the sound of water were soothing, and we had a wonderful time. For dinner, we enjoyed tapas and pasta while watching Togetsukyo Bridge at dusk—beautifully presented and delicious. It’s a Hotel I’d love to visit again in another season. This trip also celebrated my daughter, and thank you for preparing flowers in our Room for her. It became a memorable trip.

This time, we booked a Multiple Night Stay again in the same guest room we stayed in previously: a garden open-air Onsen bath room (15-tatami main room + 4.5-tatami tea room). For impressions of the Room itself, please refer to my comments from last year. First, I’d like to share how wonderful a Multiple Night Stay is. 1) The cuisine is outstanding. As introduced on the website, the monthly menu is crafted into a course using seasonal ingredients of that month, with careful attention to presentation and tableware. That alone is excellent, but the Multiple Night Stay menus are an even more diverse lineup—an explosion of the head chef’s creativity using seasonal ingredients. Both dinner and breakfast feature menus that are almost entirely different from the monthly offerings. Truly worthy of a master artisan. 2) You can enjoy the open-air Onsen freely. Although it’s an in-room open-air Onsen bath, with only one night your time to enjoy it feels limited. With a Multiple Night Stay—especially on the second day—you have much more time for the open-air Onsen and can fully relax and enjoy it. 3) Perfect for sightseeing in Ikaho. With a Multiple Night Stay you need to leave your Room during cleaning, but if you go sightseeing in Ikaho there’s no issue at all. If you head out toward the stone steps street from Fukuichi’s side, you’ll be right below Ikaho Shrine. The shrine is close by, and from there it’s easy to find your way for a round trip to Kajika Bridge as well. The Ikaho Ropeway is also comfortable to reach—it feels like going slightly downhill from the shrine area—and on your way back you can rejoin the stone steps around the middle and enjoy various shops as you walk back up toward Fukuichi. Next, I’d like to express my gratitude for the wonderful service during our stay. The attendant who served us at dinner on our first night was someone who had also taken care of us during our previous visit. In addition to being surprised with having a Multiple Night Stay menu served on day one, she carefully explained each dish as well as three coordinated alcoholic beverages selected for pairing. I’m truly grateful, and I would love to request her again next time. From breakfast on day two onward, our attendant was also serving as Kayokoro’s sommelier. At dinner on day two, when I asked on the spot for sake that would pair well with large turban shell caught off Ito off Izu Peninsula (Daesazae), he recommended Isojiman—an excellent match for the food. He told me he studied hard and earned his sommelier qualification; very impressive indeed. I was also surprised that his name is almost identical to mine; I hope he continues thriving as Kayokoro’s sommelier. We requested Shuttle Service both ways this time, and both drivers provided calm driving along with courteous assistance when getting in and out of the vehicle—thank you very much. After checkout as well, thank you sincerely to staff who continued carrying our heavy luggage and guided us on our way out. This has gotten long, but our Multiple Night Stay at Kayokoro was simply superb—we definitely want another Multiple Night Stay next time too.

Because I was traveling with my elderly mother (in her 80s, with lower back pain), I consulted in advance, and they provided a rollaway bed in our Room and also brought in a table for in-room dining. Instead of taking the garden path with stairs to the entrance as usual, a staff member picked us up by car at the parking lot, and we entered through the rear entrance on the 4th floor. Since our Room had a private bath, my mother felt at ease and was able to soak comfortably. Even when the water was hot, she could adjust it with cold water and enjoy several baths. The meals were on the Standard Plan, but every dish was easy to eat, delicious, and more than enough in quantity. The trainee also explained each dish carefully and kindly offered to take photos for us. We were able to relax very peacefully during our stay. Just one thing: because there was a step down at the toilet entrance, I felt it might be a little unsafe for elderly guests; it would be better if it were flat or had a ramp. This time we spent most of our time in the Room, but if we have another opportunity to stay again, we would like to enjoy the garden and the open-air bath as well.

I came here with a friend to relax and unwind in the natural hot spring water. This time we chose a more budget-friendly stay, so we skipped dinner. The Facility has a traditional Japanese design with great atmosphere, and it was truly calming. The hallways are covered with tatami mats, so it felt nice to walk around barefoot. The bath was incredibly relaxing—excellent. I was also able to fully unwind in the lobby. The onsen eggs were delicious, and breakfast was great as well. The Room had beds, so I could relax comfortably. One thing I didn’t expect was how few places there are to eat around the Accommodation. Many restaurants were closed on their regular days off, so finding somewhere for dinner took some effort. Also, when I misplaced something, their courteous support really helped. Every staff member greeted us with a smile and spoke politely—perfect service overall. Highly recommended.

I visited again. Even in the summer heat, many people were sightseeing in Onomichi. This time, I rode the ropeway for the first time—it climbs all at once and was truly thrilling. At a museum along the way to the Hotel, there was an exhibition about cats that felt very soothing. At the café, I enjoyed sweets with their recommended pairing. Dinner featured a variety of ingredients that went perfectly with wine. Breakfast was so delicious that I had a second serving of rice. I also enjoyed the letter room for the first time. I used to study calligraphy, so once I started writing different things with a brush pen, time flew by. It was also fun to see other guests’ creations. Spending summer in Onomichi while sharing everyone’s memories was wonderful too.

From the moment we boarded the elevator to the Ryokan from in front of Sounzan Station, it was an exciting experience. The Accommodation and all the staff welcomed us with a warm atmosphere, and everything—the Room, the carefully prepared meals, the Onsen, and the views—was wonderfully soothing. We were able to spend a slow, quiet, luxurious time. Thank you very much.

I fell ill and had to ask my brother’s family to go in my place. My nephew loves rice, and I have never seen him eat bread. However, dinner was bread-based, so they assumed he wouldn’t eat much. Instead, they said everything—the dishes and the bread—was delicious, and the three of them finished a meal meant for four. They also told me breakfast was truly wonderful. My brother and his wife, who are constantly worried about their son, said they had a very comfortable Hotel stay thanks to the excellent care from all the staff. Thank you very much for your kindness. Thank you as well for the get-well gift for me. June is both my birthday month and your Hotel’s celebration month, so I was disappointed that I couldn’t visit myself. I hope to visit again soon.

The Facility and Room were stylish, impeccably clean, and incredibly relaxing. The tea and snacks prepared at check-in were also chic and instantly lifted my mood. All the in-room amenities, as well as the sweets, coffee, and other refreshments provided, felt carefully selected. Dinner was far better than I had imagined—delicious, of course, and beautifully presented for the eyes as well. I requested a mixed pairing of sake and wine, which turned out to be exactly right; even though my appetite had been down from summer fatigue, both the drinks and the food went down easily. I also heard that even the seasonings are handmade, and my overall satisfaction was higher than at an auberge—maybe it is an auberge? The garden view was lovely too; with wonderful food and drinks plus attentive service, it became an unforgettable night. All of the staff were courteous yet friendly—I’d love to see them again. I’d like to visit again in a different season.

This trip was to celebrate my mother’s birthday. She requested to see the Onsen she had visited with my late father during their honeymoon, and also the snow monkeys at Jigokudani Monkey Park. We chose this Accommodation because Reviews repeatedly mentioned the private family bath and a homey, relaxing atmosphere. True to the Reviews, it was a wonderfully quiet and peaceful place. The warm glow of washi paper lamps displayed throughout was beautiful, and we could feel the proprietress’s thoughtful care in every detail. And the food—absolutely delicious! Dinner just kept coming (laugh). Every dish was freshly made and served hot. The best of all was the kake soba hand-made by the chef that very morning. I love soba and visit many places, but I’m sorry—this was truly the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Breakfast also made us happy with piping-hot dashimaki tamago. The highlight of breakfast was the miso soup—I wanted to take home the whole pot. As we’ve gotten older, we choose our trips carefully based on both meals and Accommodation quality, and this place offered outstanding value for money. More than anything, we made unforgettable memories here. On our way out, I bought one of the lamps that were on display at the Accommodation as a gift for my mother. Thanks to you, it became the best birthday present possible. We’ll come again in winter—and again for her birthday next year too. We had the pleasure of enjoying the private dinner Plan at Soro Residence. The cuisine was not only delicious, but each dish was beautifully presented like a work of art. The flowers arranged to match the dishes and the floral decorations throughout the Room were truly wonderful, creating a special space that felt extraordinary. The wine pairing was also exceptional—each time we paired a sip of wine after a bite, both were elevated, and we were repeatedly moved by how much the flavors opened up. In addition, all staff provided warm and attentive hospitality from start to finish, allowing us to spend a comfortable and luxurious time. Thank you very much for an unforgettable experience.

This was not just a clean Accommodation, but a place that felt like a “second home,” filled with warmth and thoughtfulness. In every corner of the Room, we could feel the host’s care and affection, and throughout our stay we felt comfortable and genuinely welcomed. The meals were also truly outstanding. Each dish was prepared with great care and sincerity—delicious, and an unforgettable taste. We had a truly wonderful time and are sincerely grateful. We would love to visit again.

It was the best stay. The hospitality was better than any Hotel I have stayed at, and the staff were truly wonderful. We enjoyed hearing various stories during the Shuttle Service ride. We were completely satisfied with everything—the Room, amenities, and minibar. The view from the Room was absolutely breathtaking, and we were able to spend a truly happy day. Of course, the food was also very satisfying. The main dishes—venison and sweetfish—were incredibly delicious and made us want to come back again.
