From check-in until our car left the Ryokan, the staff naturally came outside to welcome and see us off. I think there are very few Ryokan or Hotels that do this. The preparation of the futon bedding and in-Room dining was pleasant, and it made for a wonderful stay. Every dish was delicious, and the portions were very satisfying. If I had one request, I would be happy if there were a bit more local vegetables—especially for guests in their 50s like us. This may be a matter of preference, but I felt the miso soup would have been even better if it were served a little hotter. Similarly, I would have preferred the water in the large public bath to be slightly hotter. What impressed me most was how thoroughly everything was cleaned. Even at expensive Hotels or Ryokan, you often notice dust in hidden areas or peeling wallpaper and small flaws here and there, but everything visible was very clean. Precisely because it isn’t brand-new, it felt especially comfortable. It was my first stay here, but I feel like I got great value. My only concern is that many of the staff seemed to be around my age or a bit older, so I hope this Ryokan will continue for many years and be passed on to the next generation so guests can keep enjoying it. Thank you very much.

This was my second stay, and the breakfast and dinner were excellent, with attentive staff as well. Another highlight is having dinner served in your Room. There seem to be many repeat guests, and the large number of female guests may be proof of how good the food is. The Onsen is also wonderful, making it easy to unwind and relax—so I can see myself becoming a repeat guest. As an aside, access by car is convenient, but if you are traveling by train, getting to Yubiso Station is not very convenient, so it’s best to check in advance.

I was very satisfied. The moment I walked in, I thought, “It’s more spacious than I expected!” It was clean and felt like a place where I could truly relax. This time I stayed alone, but the sofa is wide enough for two people, and there were sliding partitions between the bed area and the washbasin area, so even with a companion you could get ready comfortably. The staff were also very kind—when I was about to shop at the store, they told me about a survey, which helped me save money. If I had to mention one issue, the washbasin is a bit small, so water tends to splash around each time you use it. Overall, it was a wonderful Hotel with great value for money—I’ll definitely be back!

The Facilities were excellent, and we enjoyed a relaxing dinner in our Room. We were very satisfied with both the price and what was included, making it a wonderful one-night stay. Thank you very much. That said, while the simple style was nice in its own way, we would have appreciated a few thoughtful words from the Accommodation staff at check-in and check-out, or a small service such as offering a cup of coffee after breakfast.

I’ve stayed here several times, but this was my first time at Kobushi. ○ There is a gap at the bottom of the Room door, so outside noise carries in easily. ○ Because there is no door to the dining area, food smells spread throughout the entire floor. Also, dinner time is set at 90 minutes, and the next dishes come slowly. When dining with a child (one-plate meal), they finished early and it was difficult. These two points were drawbacks. Everything else was perfect. You can enjoy yourself from morning until late afternoon the next day! You can play a lot and relax, and everyone from children to adults will be satisfied. No matter how many times we come, my child says they want to stay again. Regarding meals, I’d appreciate it if the serving pace could be faster for guests with children—once they finish eating, they have nothing to do.

The lobster was incredibly delicious—I was genuinely surprised. I treated myself a bit by staying here, and many guests seemed to be regulars; the overall atmosphere was wonderful. I also appreciated being able to request Shuttle Service from/to Hakuba Station. This may have been just me missing it, but I would have appreciated it even more if makeup remover had been available in the Room or in the private bath.

This was my second stay. The food is simply delicious. It’s also nice that it’s cooler here than down in the city during summer. The amenities were well stocked, which was great. If I had to mention anything, it was a bit inconvenient not having a freezer in the Room, and breakfast gets crowded, so I thought it would be helpful to have seating guidance.

After turning off the Koya Ryujin Skyline, you’ll need to drive several kilometers along a narrow, winding road with continuous curves. As is often the case in Nara Prefecture, there are some sections that are too narrow for two cars to pass. The river running beside the Hotel is very clear, and on a cloudless night you can likely enjoy a starry sky. The Onsen water analysis sheet stated it is a simple sulfur spring with pH 10.4, but I didn’t notice much of a sulfur smell. There are only two indoor baths at different temperatures, and there is no open-air bath. For dinner we ordered the local Kashiki hot pot course, and the duck, wild boar, and pheasant were all richly flavored and truly delicious. I especially liked the pheasant for its satisfying texture. After finishing the hot pot, we ended with rice porridge; the broth was so good that I ate too much. The Hotel itself is an older building, but it’s a good Hotel with sufficiently spacious Rooms and enjoyable meals.

I loved the Onsen so much that I came back three months later. As expected, the quality of the Dake Onsen hot spring water is outstanding! Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great both times, so next time I’d love to see the scenery when it’s lush and green. This time I booked No Meals Included, but next time I might choose a plan with meals—there aren’t many places to eat nearby.

The location is quite difficult to reach by public transportation. We visited by rental car, but the winding mountain roads made me carsick (I’m prone to motion sickness). Even so, it was an Accommodation that I’m glad we chose. Dinner came with many small side dishes—perfect as snacks with drinks. The complimentary tempura was delicious, too. Alcohol was inexpensive; I believe a medium draft beer was around 500 yen. The portions were generous, and it felt very fair to find alcohol priced this reasonably at an Accommodation these days. The Room was spacious and relaxing. The bath has neither a sauna nor an open-air bath, so it’s not really a place you can soak for a long time (you may get bored). The staff were kind and pleasant, and I’d like to visit again if I have the chance.

Four of us stayed here on a girls’ trip. We booked a guaranteed Mt. Fuji view Room and were thrilled to see such a beautiful Mt. Fuji! The Room had a nostalgic Showa-era feel, but it came with basic amenities and tea, and since we only stayed one night and didn’t spend much time in the Room, it was more than sufficient. The meals (with breakfast and dinner included) were delicious, and there was so much food we couldn’t finish it all even though we wanted to try more. In the morning, we could hear Japanese bush warblers singing, which felt wonderfully refreshing, and seeing majestic Mt. Fuji made it an unforgettable memory! If we have the chance, we’d love to visit again.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights and five days on our golden wedding anniversary trip. The meals and service were excellent. We also truly appreciated the beautifully and carefully written travel itinerary, which became a wonderful keepsake. Thank you very much.

The large public bath is very relaxing and helps relieve fatigue. Whenever I visit, it eases my work-related tiredness as well, so I can stay with peace of mind.

The location, service, and facilities offered more value than the price. I had a pleasant stay and would like to use it again.

Stayed for one night with my beloved dog on a December weekend. This was my second visit, and this time I stayed in a Japanese-Western Room. The spaciousness of the room is great, and the raised tatami area separating the Japanese and Western styles is a nice touch. The lounge food was even more delicious than last time. The public bath, which was lukewarm before, was slightly hotter this time, which suited me perfectly. At the dog run, we had fun playing with other dogs as well. The customer service remains excellent, and both the breakfast buffet and made-to-order omelets were delightful again this time. My dog seemed to enjoy it too—completely satisfied! I’ll likely visit again.

We stayed here to celebrate our dog’s birthday. The Room was stylish, we could enjoy meals in the Room, the terrace was spacious enough for our dog to run around, and there was even a bath for dogs—best of all, we could stay together the whole time. The meals were surprisingly generous both dinner and breakfast. The staff were very attentive and also gave us sightseeing recommendations we could visit with our dog. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

There are not many staff members, but it was easy to see which services they focus on, and I felt it is a comfortable and welcoming Hotel. The fresh flowers next to the elevator were very soothing. The Room was spacious and clean, and there was a water dispenser in the hallway where you can enjoy delicious cold water. The bath is an Onsen with plenty of space to relax, and breakfast in the morning was exceptionally delicious. I wanted to thank you in person for the wonderful breakfast, but our timing didn’t match. It helped me recover from my fatigue and left me feeling refreshed and energized.

We stayed with three family members and our dog. The building nestled in fresh greenery was truly beautiful, and the extraordinary Room space was amazing! At night, we dimmed the lights, played jazz, enjoyed some drinks, and relaxed at our own pace. Our daughter also played the lovely piano for us—it was such a luxurious time. There were Jenga and playing cards provided, and it was surprisingly fun to play them in such a unique setting! The morning bath surrounded by greenery was also wonderful—every moment was truly special. Our daughter was thrilled and said she wants to stay here again next time we come to Karuizawa, and we had a fantastic time overall. Thank you as well to the staff for being so friendly and kind!

Our second stay, following last year. Last time we chose a no-meals Plan and brought meat, vegetables, and other ingredients from home to enjoy a BBQ on the terrace. The terrace had a large gas grill, plus a table and chairs always set up. It was pouring rain outside, but the space was completely sheltered from wind and rain, so we could BBQ comfortably as if we were indoors. This time, since we planned to spend dinner with friends’ family in Omura City, we chose a breakfast-only Plan. Right after arrival, the staff warmly welcomed us and provided careful guidance and explanations about the Facility, while our dog enjoyed playing ball in the outdoor yard. Last time we booked a Room with a large garden but couldn’t use it due to heavy rain, so this time we chose one without a garden. Even so, there was still enough yard space for ball play, and there was also a dog run next to the Accommodation building. In addition to an indoor hinoki bath in the Room, there was even an open-air bath, so we could relax in the baths after returning from dinner and again in the morning. For breakfast, more than enough ingredients were prepared in the refrigerator, along with plenty of seasonings and tableware—so we made a luxurious morning meal at our preferred time and in our own way. For reference: my daughter had cheese toast with grilled bacon plus a fresh vegetable salad, yogurt, and soup; my husband had hot sandwiches with fried eggs plus salad and coffee—everyone ate what they liked and was very satisfied. One note: there were thorny plants growing in parts of the yard and dog run; it can be dangerous unless removed before letting dogs play. We ended up trimming some ourselves while saying it would be nice if it were mowed shorter overall. Even so, it’s an excellent Facility—we will definitely stay again.

I visited after a mountain hike. At check-in, we were offered only a cold hand towel, with no tea or sweets, and were shown to our Room. The Accommodation is small, but it felt clean throughout, including the Room, so we were able to stay comfortably in that respect. There was also complimentary beer service, but it was a bit disappointing that it was served in a cup rather than a mug or glass. The bath uses mineral spring water and has no taste or smell. I didn’t notice anything in particular while soaking, but after a while my skin felt smooth. Also, as time passed my body warmed up nicely, so it’s a good bath. As the Reviews said, the meals featured plenty of Toyama ingredients. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, but I think the dining experience would be even better with some explanation of the dishes. That said, during the meal the staff member in charge only said things like “Here you are” and “I’ll clear these,” which felt a little impersonal. I could hear another staff member serving the table behind us saying things like “Would you like more rice?” and “Would you like seconds?”, so it may depend on each person’s approach—but I wished for slightly more guest-focused service from our attendant. I was also concerned about there being cameras installed in several places; it felt somewhat like being watched. If they were placed more discreetly or with more consideration, it might feel less uncomfortable. Overall though, I think it was a good Accommodation.
