During a 3-day, 2-night trip visiting Kanazawa → Hida Takayama → Kamikochi, we stayed in a Room with a private bath on the second night. The atmosphere of the Accommodation, the Room itself, and the staff’s service were all excellent; however, the only disappointment was the open-air bath attached to the Room. Although there was a net provided to remove debris, once you get into the tub, settled leaves (or similar) stir up and float around, making them impossible to fully remove and they cling to your body. I understand that this may be part of what an open-air bath is like, but at similar baths we have stayed at in the past, there was a simple cover when not in use so debris was not much of an issue...

This charming Ryokan is perfect for a relaxing stay, offering Onsen-equipped rooms where you can unwind all day. Ideal for a Multiple Night Stay, it allows you to fully enjoy the serene atmosphere. The meals are plentiful and satisfying, even for those with smaller appetites like my daughter and me. Complimentary beer and boiled eggs are available at the gazebo, adding to the delightful experience. What truly stands out is the warm hospitality of all staff members, from young male staff to new female staff, making every interaction soothing from check-in onwards. Located within walking distance of Yufuin's Yunotsubo Kaido Street, this Ryokan is highly recommended if you want to explore Yufuin while enjoying exceptional service and comfort.

We booked two rooms, a Single and a Twin, for our family. The rooms were arranged on the same floor and close to each other. Thank you for accommodating us. The parking lot is free, spacious, and easy to park in, which was very convenient. Amenities such as toothbrushes and combs are self-service at the front desk during check-in. The staff kindly informed us about this. However, items like lotion are not provided. The room was slightly spacious. In the bathroom, there were some black marks on the wall—possibly mold or peeling paint—which caught my attention. Other than that, despite some signs of age in the facilities, we had a comfortable stay. It was No Meals Included for our stay; however, we enjoyed dinner at a nearby diner within walking distance and were satisfied with it. There isn’t a convenience store very close by, so I recommend preparing breakfast before checking in if needed. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji due to bad weather—what a pity! We look forward to staying here again in the future. Thank you for your hospitality!

The kiosk at Mino-Ota Station closes at 7:00 PM, and there is no convenience store on the station’s Hotel side, so I headed to the Hotel wondering about dinner. However, there are many restaurants around the Hotel, so finding dinner was not a problem. The Hotel front desk also sold items ranging from cup noodles to light snacks. The building itself is old, but the Room was spacious and equipped with an air purifier, making my stay comfortable. I would like to stay here again.

We stayed as a family on New Year's Eve to escape the year-end hustle and bustle. The small hall was crowded with guests, but the front desk staff and attendants welcomed us warmly with smiles. The room was not very spacious but was clean and comfortable, equipped with coffee and mineral water. The silver shiny walls, full-length mirror closet doors, and compact yet renovated bathroom showed thoughtful design throughout. Although the public bath wasn't very large, I had perfect timing to enjoy it all to myself, which made me very satisfied. However, it might feel cramped during busy hours. The women's colorful yukata were stylishly designed, while the alphabet-printed yukata for general use featured vibrant colors and patterns that added a cheerful touch—especially contrasting against men's typically darker attire—enhancing the travel experience's charm. Meals were served in our room; dinner was flavorful and delicious. On New Year's morning, we enjoyed traditional osechi breakfast along with otoso (spiced sake), poured in order starting from younger guests as per custom—a refreshing moment to start anew. It was my first time trying Kyoto-style white miso soup with round mochi for ozoni; it marked a wonderful beginning to Reiwa Year 8. The location is excellent—just a short walk from Nishiki Market—with nearby sweets shops and cafes scattered around. Unfortunately, many stores seemed closed on New Year's Day itself. Surprisingly enough though, we couldn't hear any temple bells ringing at midnight but managed to sleep soundly right after welcoming the new year. While Kyoto has many hotels available, staying at a ryokan truly offers an exceptional experience!

It’s not a new building, but it was kept very clean, and I was able to relax comfortably. Perhaps because there are many male guests, the Room amenities included items like shaving lotion, but there were no cosmetics for women, which was a bit disappointing. Since I had bought some unfiltered sake as a souvenir, I really appreciated having a refrigerator with a freezer compartment.

I had reserved the deluxe kaiseki dinner, and it truly was luxurious—so much that I couldn’t finish it. I declined the final rice and clear soup because I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat them. The Onsen water quality was excellent and left my skin feeling silky smooth. There were several baths, and I really enjoyed them. The Ryokan staff were also very courteous and attentive. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I stayed with a Plan that included breakfast. The Room was a Japanese-style room on the first floor with a fairly pleasant, tranquil view. It was a Room with futons for up to four people, but I used it alone. Standard amenities were provided: towels, toothbrushes, and razors. I wanted to use Wi-Fi in the guest Room, but it seemed only available in the third-floor lobby. The signal barely reached the guest Room and wasn’t usable even after entering the ID and password. Since 5G and 4G mobile signals were also somewhat weak, having reliable Wi-Fi access in each Room would make for a more comfortable stay. Breakfast was a traditional Japanese set meal—fairly standard but tasty enough to enjoy.

This was the best cottage I have ever stayed at. The surrounding environment, customer service, Onsen, and everything else were excellent, offering great overall value for money. The cottages are spaced out just right, allowing for a pleasant and relaxing time. The only downsides I noticed were that the BBQ grill (U-shaped groove) was too high, making it far from the charcoal and requiring adjustments, and that since an IH stove is used, only compatible kettles could be used while non-compatible ones could not. The galette I tried for the first time was also delicious. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you very much!

Although it is a capsule Hotel, it features a large public bath with a cypress tub, a lounge, and welcome drinks available at the first-floor café. The mattresses are thick and fluffy, ensuring comfortable sleep. The lockers are spacious enough to fit suitcases. While there are many foreign guests, everyone was quiet and well-mannered.

I decided to stay another night after my plans from the previous day and chose this affordable Onsen accommodation with meals included. Although I was familiar with Sarugakyo and Akaya Lake as they are on the way to Yuzawa, it was my first time staying here. The deciding factor was the rare opportunity for in-room dining for both breakfast and dinner, which gave me a nostalgic feeling like staying at a hotel from my childhood. It seemed that only part of the room was being used, but the Onsen experience was peaceful and private, which I really appreciated.

It was a little off Route 58, not noisy, and the Facility was clean and nice.

The location was very convenient. The Room was also clean. The toilet was a bit small. Also, having a parking lot was really convenient. If the timing works out, I’d like to stay again next year. It was a shame about Junglia, though.

AZ Hotel is recommended for its excellent breakfast.

It was my first time staying here, and it was an unforgettable two-day getaway with a true seaside resort vibe.

I stayed here on a trip to Arima Onsen. The parking lot is very far away, so it’s quite inconvenient without the Shuttle Service. The check-in and check-out locations are also separate, which was inconvenient, but the Facility is clean and Gin no Yu is within walking distance. It was great that I could walk to various places in the downtown area!

We stayed for 2 nights with 2 people, and the total cost for 2 weekday nights was 19,800 yen, which was very cost-effective. The view of Mount Yufu from the entrance was breathtaking and truly wonderful. However, the water pressure was quite low, so it took nearly an hour to fill the bathtub. During this time, other water pressure was almost nonexistent, which caused some inconvenience. Although we were informed about this at check-in, it was a bit disappointing. Other than that, the room was spacious and clean, which made us satisfied overall. The accommodation had a refrigerator, kettle, microwave oven, and toaster—all very convenient. Considering the affordable price point, our overall rating is 4 out of 5 points. Despite the issue with water pressure, we would like to stay here again in the future.

I stayed for one night. I was able to enjoy an extraordinary experience, and the private pool allowed me to swim without worrying about others. It would be even better if the weeds on the property were managed more thoroughly.

There is no bathtub; the room has a shower. Yukata robes and face towels are not provided, but other amenities are available. They responded very quickly to requests, such as lending vinyl umbrellas on rainy days and fixing slow drainage in the washbasin, which was excellent. It is also helpful that they can store your suitcase from 7:00 AM on the day of your stay.
