The building shows its age, but the interior is well maintained and clean, so we had a very comfortable stay. I honestly didn’t expect much from the Yonezawa beef dinner because it was reasonably priced, but the meat was far better than I imagined and I was very satisfied. The morning rice porridge was also great. All of the staff were kind, and their warm hospitality really stood out. The hot spring is 100% free-flowing from the source, and the water felt wonderful—after soaking, my skin felt silky smooth and I even felt a little younger (haha). At such an affordable price, being able to enjoy Yonezawa beef and a free-flowing natural hot spring made this a truly satisfying stay.

I was truly impressed by the warm hospitality and the kind, attentive service. The meals used locally sourced ingredients and offered a wide variety of dishes. I also appreciated the thoughtful hospitality shown even with private in-room dining rather than eating in the dining hall. The hot springs were wonderful as well—there were free private baths, and since there happened to be fewer guests during my stay, I was able to enjoy them fully. It was an excellent property, and because it is so great, I would like to share two points that stood out so it can become even better. 1) It took quite a long time for the shower water in the bath area to reach a comfortable temperature. This might be tough in winter. 2) The “Constellation Bath” (Seiza-no-Yu) is listed on the brochure and on elevator signage, but it seems to be currently unavailable, so it may be better to remove or update those references. In any case, overall this was a very pleasant stay and a highly recommended property that fully deserves its great reputation.

We stayed here after visiting Kamikochi. The private open-air baths were simply amazing. At least one was always available at any time. You do need to change footwear and walk outside, but it was much closer than we expected. There are three baths, and all of them are spacious with great views. You can adjust the water flow, so you can make it hotter or cooler as you like. The free-flowing natural hot spring water was fantastic. The service style was just right for us, as we could relax and spend time at our own pace. We would definitely love to stay again.

It was great not having to worry about parking, and the room was clean. This time, for some reason there was a stink bug, and it took some time to deal with it, but I managed to get it out.

While parts of the building show a bit of its history, the interior and guest rooms were spotless down to every detail, making for a very clean and comfortable stay. The view from the room and lobby was simply breathtaking—just looking out at the beautiful ocean right in front of you helps you forget everyday life and truly relax. The Okinawan dishes we had for dinner were all carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. Above all, what impressed us most was the warm hospitality of the staff. Their kind, attentive service and thoughtful care moved us again and again throughout our stay. This is a wonderful hotel where you can truly feel people’s warmth. We would love to return. Thank you very much!

I was worried because my check-in would be very late, but I was happy to be warmly welcomed when I arrived. It was a Plan where you can’t choose the Room, but when I entered, it felt like a suite—spacious with a living room, bedroom, and bathroom. It was such a nice layout that it felt like a waste to use it just for sleeping. Thank you. I only noticed it at first, but there was a musty smell in the bedroom. My companion seemed to lose sleep because of it. It might help to use an ozone deodorizing machine. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

I had a very comfortable stay. It was great to have so many Onsen. I would love to stay again.

It was conveniently located close to Laguna Ten Bosch. We stayed in a Room with a private bath. The view was great, and the bath felt open and airy and was very clean—our children were delighted. The staff were very helpful, and the welcome services were also excellent. The meals were delicious, and the children’s menu was thoughtfully planned with good nutritional balance, which was wonderful. It was an Accommodation we would like to stay at again. Thank you very much.

Dinner was excellent. It was very delicious. The escargot baked in puff pastry was especially outstanding. I’d love to stay again!

With flight cancellations expected, I searched for a place at the last minute. I was able to make a Reservation easily online. The Room was much more spacious than I expected. There was a washer and dryer in the Room, free of charge. In addition to the bed, there was also a two-seater sofa—amazing value for this price.

The hospitality felt more like a luxury Ryokan than a temple lodging. Our Room was upgraded to a special suite, and we were able to relax in the spacious “Hojo” Room overlooking an expansive garden. The shojin-ryori cuisine was beautifully presented and delicious throughout. After dinner, we took a short walk (about 3 minutes) to Danjo Garan. With bonfires lit and the area illuminated, we caught a glimpse of Kobo Daishi’s mandala world through sights such as Konpon Daito, Saito Pagoda, and Kondo Hall. The next morning, we joined the morning service from 6:00 a.m., which felt truly solemn and moving. The Dharma talk by Archbishop Miyata explained Buddhism from a global perspective with humor, making it easy to understand. I strongly feel that Koyasan is best experienced with an overnight stay. I first stayed here in January 2026, and this was my second visit. This time I returned in the season of fresh greenery, and along the several dozen meters from the accommodation building to the separate Onsen building, white citrus blossoms were in full bloom. I was able to enjoy their sweet fragrance while soaking in the Onsen. It’s wonderful that each season brings new discoveries. The meals were consistently high quality, and I was satisfied with both the taste and portion size.

All the staff were courteous and left a great impression. This may be my own expectation, but the water didn’t look as emerald green as I had imagined; still, it was an excellent hot spring. The room was more than spacious for a solo trip and very comfortable, and I was able to relax and recover from fatigue along with the hot spring. I also appreciated having meals served in the room. The building is undeniably old, but considering the inn’s history, I think it adds charm. That said, I noticed a few things... There is a step of about 3–4 cm between the area where you take off your shoes and the room itself, and I bumped my toes on it. It was my fault, but since both sides are tatami mats, it seems easy to misjudge due to an optical illusion. There was a note saying the refrigerator power switch was on the right side, but I couldn’t find it at first; after searching carefully, I found it hidden behind the refrigerator. Dust had accumulated on the lampshade above the sink. One corner of the bamboo tray used for placing cups by the sink was stained white, and because cups were placed upside down with their rims touching that stain, it didn’t feel hygienic. (It might have been disinfectant solution, but visually it wasn’t ideal.) I apologize for these nitpicky comments, but I hope they can be helpful going forward.

Shizukatei True to its name, this Accommodation was wonderfully quiet and relaxing, far removed from any hustle and bustle, and surrounded by peaceful rural scenery. The road to the Accommodation was a narrow farm lane where passing other cars required care, but clear signs were placed at key points, and as we got closer, banners guided us along the route. Soba-an I had high expectations for the 80/20 soba served at dinner, but it easily surpassed them—it was exceptionally delicious. In addition, many dishes were prepared using plenty of seasonal vegetables, carefully cooked and beautifully presented. We enjoyed a wide variety of flavors and textures, as well as the visual appeal. Breakfast was also an excellent Japanese set meal with plenty of vegetables and a generous number of dishes. Oshu Hiraizumi Onsen The free-flowing natural Onsen water was a little hot, but we thoroughly enjoyed it together with the open-air bath. Finally, what impressed me most during this stay was the staff. From check-in to being shown to our Room; since dinner was served in-room, their smooth service and efficient delivery; after the meal, clearing everything away and then laying out the futons with equally outstanding efficiency; checkout was completed without any waiting time, and they even came outside to see us off afterward. This was our first visit during Golden Week as part of a family trip service day, and my family was truly happy and satisfied. We were deeply impressed by the professionalism of everyone involved.

It’s within walking distance from the station, but it’s a bit far. However, there are restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so it wasn’t a problem. The front desk staff were kind and friendly. They also accommodated a change to the breakfast time from what I had told them in advance, and I was very satisfied with the breakfast.

The Room is moderately spacious, bright, and comfortable. The large public bath being open until 2 AM is a great feature. However, having the lockers located outside the public bath is inconvenient. The breakfast includes many processed meats and fried dishes; it would be better if there were more healthy options available.

We stayed here during an autumn foliage touring trip and loved it from the moment we arrived—the location and atmosphere of the pension were wonderful. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, and the private bath was great as well. The larger hair dryer made it quick to dry our hair, so we could return to our room without getting chilled. Best of all, the staff’s service was just right—friendly and attentive without being overbearing.

We stayed as a couple specifically for the host’s guided tour, and thanks to it we were able to make a very satisfying pilgrimage. Thank you very much. Without the guide, I don’t think we could have felt this level of satisfaction or fulfillment. At each key point, he gave careful explanations and taught us what kinds of prayers are appropriate for the deities enshrined there. That was extremely important for our visit. As for the Accommodation, since it is rented as an entire house, it felt just like staying at home. We truly felt at ease and were able to sleep soundly. Thank you for this wonderful connection and opportunity. We would also like to express our gratitude for the guidance of the deities of Ise Jingu Shrine.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary with our three children, and thank you for your kind and family-friendly hospitality. Our kids were absolutely delighted! The meals were incredibly delicious, and we’re sorry we couldn’t finish everything... The bath was also wonderfully relaxing. It would have been perfect with an outdoor bath, but considering the surroundings, it’s understandable (lol). We truly felt we had found a great Accommodation, and we’d love to stay again.

I was impressed by the staff’s thoughtful, unobtrusive hospitality. The meals featured plenty of wild mountain vegetables and local ingredients, and I was very satisfied with the careful preparation. They were wonderful dishes you can’t experience in the city. We also used the private bath, which I highly recommend. It was just the right size and temperature, and it was comforting that the changing area had tatami mats. This is a memorable Accommodation I would love to stay at again.
