- The view is excellent, and the sea in front is generally calm as it faces the bay. - The living dining area is spacious, with stylish and large furnishings, allowing for a relaxing stay. - The amenities are well-provided, using the property's shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. High-end hairdryers are conveniently placed in each bathroom and room. - There are plenty of changes of room wear and towels, so there is no inconvenience. - Wi-fi was available without any issues. - The free drinks (shochu, beer, bottled tea and sparkling water, fruit juice, etc.) are well-stocked, and there is rosé wine and champagne in the cellar for a fee. - Depending on the length of stay, it may be necessary to purchase additional hot drinks such as coffee and tea. - The free food beef stew is delicious. - If self-catering, it is necessary to procure seasonings. Glasses, tableware, cooking utensils, and plastic wrap are provided. - There are no shops nearby, so a car is needed for shopping or dining out, but this allows for a quiet stay. - It takes about 10 minutes by car to the nearest supermarket. - The course by the visiting chef (for a fee) was very delicious, utilizing local ingredients. - The property is located down an alley, and the sign is placed close to the ground, making it easy to miss. Extra caution is needed, especially at night, as there are no streetlights in the area. - At night, the surroundings become completely dark, so if the weather is clear, you can see a beautiful starry sky from the terrace. - The beach in front of the property is almost exclusively for guests, but occasionally anglers come to the breakwater (the distance to the end of the breakwater is considerable, so it is not particularly bothersome). - If you put your feet in the sea or do SUP, you won't feel the cold, but if you participate in marine activities such as snorkeling, wearing a wetsuit is necessary.

Everything was perfect: a luxurious private space well worth the price, and attentive service with thoughtful care from the butler. I’ve stayed at several Shigira properties, but The Shigira was the best overall. That said, I have two suggestions: 1) If staying multiple nights, I’d like the in-room breakfast menu to change. 2) Since going to the beach is a given, I’d like a washing machine installed. That’s all. I plan to Reserve again next year, so I’d appreciate it if these points could be improved.

The owner was very kind. The weather wasn’t great, but we had a wonderful time in the clean, warm pool! We’d love to come again!

It was a very wonderful Facility. I was able to spend comfortably and had fun. Also, the owner's response was excellent and very good. This time it was cold because it was used in February, but next time I will use it when it's warm.

This Hotel is located at the top of a narrow mountain road. It was very quiet, and the soothing music playing throughout the Hotel made it even more relaxing. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, but if there hadn’t been any fog, we would have been able to see the horizon from our Room and enjoy an even more wonderful view. 　The meals were carefully prepared, and both the fish and roast beef were served with vegetables that paired perfectly with each dish—everything was delicious. The dessert was a yogurt mousse (I’m not sure if that’s correct), but it was excellent. We stayed as a family of four, including our son in his 20s, and everyone left feeling full—though we did ask for extra bread. 　We were told they host only three groups per day, and we were able to use the spacious private family bath as well. It was a stay that freed us from everyday busyness and truly felt like an escape. 　The interior furnishings throughout the Hotel were also thoughtfully arranged and had an elegant feel. 　If we have the chance, we would love to visit again. A charming accommodation limited to only three groups per day, offering an exceptional stay with its location and outstanding hospitality, allowing guests to fully enjoy a country-like retreat from check-in to check-out. The twin room features a veranda overlooking a vineyard, with trains running almost parallel to the accommodation at its edge. In the evening, you can witness the slow passage of night trains against the backdrop of a serene countryside sunset. The bathroom is designed with glass walls (ensuring privacy from outside), allowing guests to gaze at the night sky and stars when turning off the lights during nighttime baths. This unique feature, combined with silky-smooth onsen water directly sourced from natural hot springs, invites repeated indulgence throughout your stay—enjoying unlimited access without any interruptions. Additionally, meals include handmade dishes such as Bungo beef and pot-au-feu in perfect portions that are simply delightful. Guests can also savor wine made in-house from grapes grown on-site—a rare treat due to its limited production. Located in Yufuin, one of Japan's most famous onsen destinations, this is truly an extraordinary accommodation experience!

We stayed here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. From before our stay, the team kindly helped us with menu requests and planning a surprise, which made us feel at ease and ready for the day. On the day, we were picked up at the nearest station with the Shuttle Service, and we felt warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The Room atmosphere was wonderful—an exceptional space that truly felt like an escape from everyday life. The food was absolutely delicious, and we could tell how much care went into every dish. The staff’s attentiveness was outstanding, and from our pre-stay communication through checkout, we were comfortable throughout. Our special anniversary became an unforgettable memory. We would love to stay again—this is an Accommodation we will definitely return to.

We stayed in the Kids Terrace Room with our children during summer vacation. They were thrilled with the bunk beds and the tent. Best of all, the terrace connects directly to the lawn area, so we could relax on the terrace while watching them play. They enjoyed experiences that are hard to find in the city, like driving RC carts on the grass, feeding ponies, and playing with water guns. The meals were also excellent, with many dishes featuring local ingredients. The late-night tantan noodles and complimentary ice cream after a bath were wonderful touches. The Facility had been renovated and felt new inside, making our stay very comfortable. Even after returning home, our kids still say they want to stay again. We’d love to visit again when we have the chance.

Every fish dish at dinner was excellent, and we truly enjoyed it. Sashimi, grilled dishes, and simmered dishes kept coming one after another, and we were completely full. It really felt like a seaside Accommodation. The explanations on how to eat each dish were also thorough, and the service was outstanding.

Choosing this place among so many options was truly regret-free. We had a wonderful experience! From the first welcome drink and warm hospitality, to the meals, the detached guest room, and our private bath (Onsen), and even the lounge—everything felt extraordinary, and we could truly relax. It was amazing! A cousins’ trip for three women (a bit older), and we were very satisfied. Excellent value for money!!!

I thought this was a very clean Accommodation with a great selection of dog-friendly items, and I would recommend it to dog lovers. I’d like to stay here again the next time I visit Kyoto. Overall, I’m satisfied, but if I mention a few things that were missing: Most of what you need for cooking in the Room is provided, but if guests want to cook hot pot in the Room, it would be helpful to have a portable gas stove (or an IH portable cooktop if open flames are not allowed for safety reasons) and a clay pot. Also, there were no donburi bowls for eating udon, ramen, or soba, so I’d like you to add those as well. Also, among the amenities, I would like bath salts.

We stayed here with a large group in January. First of all, the traditional kura-style building is truly one of a kind. It has been beautifully renovated to suit modern needs while preserving the charm of classic Japanese architecture. It’s even more impressive in person than in photos, and you can really enjoy the building itself—perfect for anyone who loves architecture. The living room feels incredibly open, and even with a big group it never felt cramped. The kitchen was surprisingly spacious, and it was stocked with more than enough cookware and appliances. There was also a great variety of tableware, all stylish, which made cooking even more enjoyable. The dishwasher in particular was large and high-performance, making cleanup easy even for a big group. There are multiple bedrooms as well, so everyone can rest comfortably. This Accommodation is ideal for the purpose of “staying together as a large group and relaxing.” Overall it’s very spacious, so we could spend time there without feeling self-conscious. We only ordered breakfast, but it was simple Japanese food and very delicious. For lunch and dinner we arranged our own meals—buying ingredients at nearby supermarkets (Tsuruya and AEON are conveniently close) and cooking ourselves—and that became part of the fun of the stay. With such well-equipped facilities, this place is especially recommended for those who enjoy cooking. Even though it was cold around New Year’s, the inside was warm and comfortable. The separate hinoki bathhouse was amazing; you heat the indoor bath yourself, but the scent of hinoki wood and the atmosphere were truly relaxing. There is also another bath in the main house (with a modern tub), which you can use as well—and we appreciated the thoughtful touch of underfloor heating in the changing area there. We were highly satisfied with everything—the space, facilities, and overall atmosphere—and would love to visit again in a different season.

The staff welcomed us with warm smiles, and we were very satisfied. My friends who came with me also said they would love to bring their families next time. We will definitely be back, and we look forward to seeing you again!

I stayed for one night during the New Year. I have stayed at various accommodations converted from traditional townhouses, but this one was exceptionally spacious and thoughtfully designed. It was clear that the owner wanted guests to enjoy a comfortable stay, not just rent out a space. The accommodation is so spacious that it felt luxurious for just two people. I also appreciated the free bicycles provided. Thank you very much!

Surrounded by the atmosphere of a wonderful, historic old castle, we were able to forget everyday life and spend a relaxing, special time together as a family. The view from the pool terrace was truly breathtaking. Spending time while looking out over Izu’s rich nature felt incredibly luxurious, and it left us refreshed to the core. It’s an outstanding location that feels soothing even just to gaze at the scenery. Our children absolutely loved the pool and were thrilled the moment we arrived! They enjoyed it again and again during our stay, smiling nonstop and saying, “We want to come back!” At the on-site museum, beautiful stained glass created a magical ambiance, and we were also able to listen to live pipe organ music—an indulgent moment that was deeply calming. Every dish at the café was delicious; the pizza and pasta were exceptional. Thanks to the staff’s thoughtful attention and warm hospitality, we felt comfortable and at ease even with small children. Not only the Accommodation but also the museum and café—the entire Facility is full of charm—making this a wonderfully fulfilling vacation that will stay in our family’s memories. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much for such a lovely time.

This villa is run by a couple, and they were both very welcoming. Everything was clean, and we had a very comfortable stay. You can’t see Mt. Fuji from the Room, but from the terrace in the backyard you can enjoy a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji in all its grandeur. We had dinner at the adjacent restaurant run by the same couple; every dish was high quality and we were very satisfied.

I was able to spend a truly relaxing time during my stay. The Facility was very clean, and you can tell great care has been put into the interior and amenities. The sauna exceeded my expectations, and it was a luxurious experience to enjoy the outdoor air while feeling close to nature. The BBQ setup and kitchenware are also well equipped, so you can stay comfortably just by bringing your own ingredients. The surroundings are quiet as well, making this villa perfect for anyone looking to forget everyday life and refresh. I would definitely like to stay here again if I have the chance.

We stayed during Golden Week. Even though all the other Rooms were fully booked, we could hardly hear any noise from nearby, and we were able to spend a peaceful time surrounded by the quiet forest. Perhaps it was a season with very few insects, as they didn’t bother us at all, and the Facility was clean and very comfortable. Even the shampoo in the bath had a forest-like scent, and we felt that every detail had been thoughtfully considered. Thank you very much. After reading through all of the Room booklet again, I realized that shared Facilities such as the washing machine were located elsewhere, and I wasn’t sure how to clean up properly after using the campfire. It would be reassuring if you could add a short note on the red paper that was originally inside the fire pit grill saying that cleanup instructions are written in the booklet. Also, since it seemed to assume everything should be returned to its original state, I wasn’t sure how far we needed to go in putting things back—such as dishcloths or used towels. It would feel even more reassuring if there were a note like: “Please place used cloths and towels in the laundry basket.” We would love to stay again. We made wonderful memories with our family.
