Because Typhoon No. 15 was approaching, I canceled once, but it looked like I could still make it, so I made a new Reservation. We got caught in a bit of rain, but the Accommodation had a wonderful atmosphere, the Onsen was amazing, the meals were delicious, and above all, the staff were so pleasant—I was completely satisfied. Soaking in the open-air bath while looking at mist-covered mountains, and enjoying complimentary coffee in the retro-style lobby while gazing at the greenery outside the window—those moments were truly soothing to end the trip. Since it’s deep in the mountains, visiting by private car is somewhat seasonal, but it’s an Accommodation I’d love to return to. Thank you very much.

We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of four nights. Above all, this Accommodation is truly pet-friendly. We visited with both a dog and a cat, and they both seemed relaxed and happy. There were plenty of amenities for dogs and cats, plus facilities such as a dog run. We could stay with peace of mind, and all the staff clearly love animals, which made our time here even more special. The Japanese staff were wonderful as expected, and the international staff were also incredibly polite—so much so that we initially thought they were Japanese—always with warm smiles. It gave us the sense that the training and working environment here must be excellent. The staff deserve more than five stars. Meals are à la carte, so you can choose whatever you like each day in any amount you want. This was especially appreciated during our Multiple Night Stay, and everything was consistently above average in taste. They offer a great balance of both Japanese and Western dishes, so we never got bored. Every day was delicious. Alcohol at night at the bar, as well as drinks in the Room refrigerator, are included, which is very reassuring for those who enjoy drinking. In addition, 30 minutes of spa treatment per day was included; I even received a massage and felt truly healed. The Room was neither too large nor too small—just right for two people—and it was well designed and easy to use. The hot spring water left our skin smooth and glossy; it was excellent. Both the indoor bath and open-air bath are fed directly from the source (free-flowing), and we could adjust both volume and temperature using only the natural spring water. It’s pure luxury. These days many Hotels or Ryokan only allow smoking in designated areas, so being able to smoke on our private terrace attached to the Room is something smokers will really appreciate, especially if you want to have a drink on the terrace while enjoying a cigarette. Because the terrace is surrounded by high walls, our cat could also go for walks there safely. Cats tend to run off easily, so it’s rare to let them stroll freely—this was another great point. Our cat looked completely at ease. It was our first time visiting Kikuchi City. There are many wonderful places nearby including Kikuchi Gorge, and Aso is less than an hour away by car, making sightseeing very convenient. Since there is a university stable near this Accommodation, there may occasionally be a slight animal smell, but that isn’t an issue caused by this Accommodation itself. And since this is an Accommodation that pet lovers choose specifically because they travel with animals, I think it’s simply something not to worry about (it didn’t bother me). This is a fantastic Accommodation where you can truly relax with your pets. Thank you very much.

I previously stayed here with my 4-year-old daughter, and while I was a little nervous about our first trip with a young child, we had a wonderful time—delicious meals and a clean Room, and we were very satisfied throughout our stay. This time, my husband was able to join us. The meals were different from last time but just as delicious as ever, and since we chose the largest Room, my daughter was thrilled. What made me especially happy was that the washing area in the women’s bath has been expanded! All of the staff were very kind, and we had a comfortable stay. We will definitely stay again as a family.

Thank you as always! This is our fifth stay! We love Sankyu’s sushi for dinner, the Room is spacious and clean, breakfast is delicious, and everything is reasonably priced—we’re very satisfied! We’ll definitely be back again! We also recommend it to everyone at our company!

I visited by car with my husband and son on our first family trip in a while. We were delighted by the elegant lobby and lounge, beautifully decorated with flowers and furnishings, and by the stunning view of the cove from the windows. The cave-style bath we had been looking forward to, as well as the panoramic bath, were wonderfully relaxing, with silky-smooth water as we enjoyed the scenery. For dinner, we had an exquisite kaiseki course in a private dining room. We chose sashimi made from locally caught fish of the day, and every dish was outstanding—beautifully presented with impressive table settings. We also enjoyed freshly grilled fugu prepared right in front of us, along with a sake tasting. After dinner, we played darts, enjoyed wine at the bar, and went back to the baths—making the most of our stay. Our Room also had a fantastic view, and we were able to truly unwind. This is an unforgettable Accommodation that I would love to visit again.

From the moment we arrived, the parking guidance, check-in, shop, and breakfast venue staff were all very welcoming, and their smiles and service made our stay truly comfortable. The Room was also clean and well maintained. We also appreciated the complimentary beer and ice cream after bathing. Thank you very much.

On my way back from a business trip to Tokyo, I planned a visit to Nikko Toshogu Shrine, which I had long wanted to see. I stayed one night at an Accommodation in Kinugawa Onsen. I chose it after searching with conditions such as having an in-Room Onsen bath and being reasonably priced. The lobby was well maintained, and the hallways were very clean as well. Our Room had an Onsen bath and two separate rooms, so my wife went to the large public bath while I enjoyed the in-Room bath. The meals were very delicious, and the portions were just right—slightly on the generous side. It was a quiet Accommodation where I could relax in the Onsen, which was wonderful. Many of the staff seemed to be from overseas, but everyone was polite and courteous. One thing that concerned me was that when I opened the window by the in-Room bath, there were quite a few spider webs. Also, insects gathered on the window at night so we couldn’t open it; I thought that if there had been a screen door or similar, we could have opened it. If I have another chance to visit nearby, I would like to stay again.

My mother, who stayed with me and uses a wheelchair, received thoughtful and warm support, which was a great help. I only get to see my mother, who lives far away, a few times a year. I’m truly glad we were able to spend our precious time together here in comfort and at ease. My mother was very happy as well, so we would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I was deeply relaxed in this luxurious space where I could feel Kyoto in every detail. The bath also had a genuine herbal soak, letting me enjoy a truly indulgent Onsen-like experience. The amenities were well stocked, and the futon and pillows were fluffy, so I slept soundly. It was a wonderful trip that I thoroughly enjoyed. I would definitely love to stay again. This Accommodation is perfect in both facilities and service. Everything is spotless, and it was truly impressive how the staff provide heartfelt hospitality while maintaining a comfortable sense of distance from guests. I felt they must place great emphasis on staff training. Dinner was a full-course Japanese meal featuring local ingredients, with abalone and splendid alfonsino as the highlight. The seasoning was natural and brought out the best of each ingredient. Both dinner and breakfast were generous in portion, but everything was so delicious that I finished it all. Thank you for making such wonderful summer memories for us.

This is my fourth stay, and each time has been better than the last. In addition to the exceptional hospitality each staff member shows to every guest, you can also feel their dedication to continually improving the Accommodation, and I discover something new with every visit. I’m always grateful for the irreplaceable time I get to spend here—something I can only experience at Takinami. Next time will be in autumn. Thank you in advance.

Because my son uses a wheelchair, the restaurant staff kindly assisted us, which was very helpful. We truly appreciate their thoughtful care. The meal was delicious, made with very fresh ingredients. The wine explanations were excellent, and the timing of serving the three wines was perfect. We would love to stay again.

This was my first stay at this Accommodation, and I stayed in the “Kunugi” Room. After reading Reviews beforehand, I arrived excited about the view from the Room and the generous meals—and in conclusion: it was amazing!! The view of Mt. Yufu from the open-air bath in the Room was breathtaking, and the interior had a lovely retro feel. Above all, it was incredibly spacious! That said, I personally don’t do well with insects, so coexisting with nature was a bit challenging (lol). I didn’t use the open-air bath much; instead, I enjoyed taking in the great outdoors through the glass window of the indoor bath. It made me think, “I want to come in winter!” and “I definitely want to come again!”—I’m already checking my schedule. Just as the Reviews said, the meals were very filling. There’s no way you won’t end up full! Everything was so delicious that I even had seconds of rice. They also offered to make onigiri for a late-night snack, so I gladly took them up on it (lol). After dinner, a staff member delivered the onigiri to my Room. I’ve stayed at many Ryokan across Kyushu, but this Accommodation is outstanding in terms of value for money and hospitality—an unquestionable 5 stars!! Seeing is believing. Highly recommended!! In winter, with clearer air, I’m sure you can see even more beautiful stars—so I’d love to visit again later this year or early next year. Thank you so much for such wonderful memories.

This Accommodation, Sagamiya, was a wonderful place where we could truly feel traditional Japanese hospitality. As soon as we arrived by car, the staff noticed us right away and came out to assist, kindly helping us park with ease. They guided us to our Room, and the attendant came to greet us and made tea for us. These days we often stay at more Western-style Hotels, so it was a pleasure to enjoy this Japanese-style hospitality again after a long time. We enjoyed a delicious in-room meal in the tatami Room with a lovely view. The open-air bath in the Room was also excellent, and even one night was enough to leave us feeling fully refreshed. All of the staff were very pleasant. We also appreciated the many thoughtful touches throughout our stay—it felt reassuring that experienced staff could make good judgments on the spot. We would love to visit again.

This was our first trip with Mameko, our 8-month-old Shiba Inu. We had various concerns, but in the end it was a very satisfying stay. It started with the front desk’s kind and attentive service. It reminded us how important the atmosphere at check-in really is. We quickly made a Reservation for a private bath. Our Japanese-style Room was spacious enough, and the crate was large as well. The view from the window wasn’t great; it seems a Room on the opposite side of the hallway would have been better. Next was the outdoor dog run. It was covered with wood chips, which were gentle on our dog’s paws. However, it didn’t seem well maintained, and we didn’t see any other families using it. Then came the private bath. Dogs aren’t allowed in the bathtub for people, but there was a large tub placed in the washing area, so we could bathe together and still enjoy an Onsen-like experience. One thing to note: there was a brush provided, but it had plenty of hair from a previous dog on it—perhaps it was missed during cleaning—which was disappointing. Dinner was finally served, and both quantity and quality were more than satisfying. The tables were spaced appropriately apart, so we could relax comfortably alongside other dogs as well. The only disappointment was that my favorite salt-grilled ayu wasn’t cooked through enough. Ayu is usually edible from head to tail when properly grilled, but this one had hard bones (head and tail) that couldn’t be eaten. My wife’s portion was nearly raw; they re-grilled it for her, but even then the bones remained too hard to eat. Ayu needs to be grilled slowly over time; this felt like only the surface had been browned with a grill to save time and effort. I believe this should be improved promptly. There are two indoor dog runs as well—both were excellent spaces where we could also get along with other guests’ families. The large public bathhouse was a good size, and above all else, the sulfur Onsen was outstanding. They recommended “time bathing” (going in and out) because it’s hot; I gradually got used to it and eventually enjoyed how pleasantly the sulfur seemed to cling to my skin. After bathing there were massage chairs—three units including newer models—and having them free of charge really lived up to expectations. Breakfast the next morning also left us fully satisfied. One more small point: staff members kindly fussed over Mameko, but since they handle food service as well, I felt it might be better not to touch dogs during meal service. Overall, our 1-night/2-day stay ended on an extremely positive note. Beyond great value for money, we could truly feel everyone’s hospitality—this has become one of our family’s Accommodations we would like to visit again.”

We stayed at this Accommodation on our first trip as three generations of our family because in-room dining was available. It’s close to the station, and both the exterior and the lobby were very clean, giving us a great impression at check-in. The proprietress and all the staff were truly kind and provided warm, thoughtful service. The Room, meals, bath, and service were all excellent—we were completely satisfied with this Hotel. Above all, the hand towels had such a wonderful fragrance that we even asked the proprietress about it at check-out. It was a deeply relaxing trip that we enjoyed immensely.

My wife and I stayed here as a reward after work. Everything was wonderful—the butler service, the food, and the atmosphere. The early evening with a hint of autumn and the refreshing mornings were both amazing. Staying for about two nights would be perfect. Next time, I’d like to try another Room as well. Thank you—my wife was very satisfied too. The meat miso we received was so good we couldn’t stop eating rice.

We stayed with my parents as a family. We traveled with a school-aged child and an infant, and the in-Room bath made our stay very comfortable. We truly appreciate your thoughtful consideration for our children during meals. The garden view and the river view from the open-air bath were so relaxing. This trip was mainly to visit Ise Grand Shrine, Toba, and Futamiura. I was especially looking forward to visiting Futami Okitama Shrine and seeing the Meoto Iwa (Wedded Rocks), so I searched for the Accommodation closest to the shrine and chose “Oishiya.” From the very beginning, I was impressed by the exceptionally courteous and pleasant service. From arriving by taxi through check-in, being shown to my Room, dining, and even the Shuttle Service to the station after check-out, everything was handled in such a welcoming way that it made for a truly wonderful trip. To the proprietress, manager, attendants, Shuttle Service driver, and everyone at Oishiya, thank you very much. Dinner was a charcoal-grilled seafood kaiseki course. Starting with appetizers and sashimi, the main dishes featured an abundant selection including abalone, squid, turban shell, other shellfish, and vegetables. Being able to enjoy abalone both grilled and as sashimi made it an especially luxurious meal. The meal was so plentiful that I’m sorry I ended up leaving one dish unfinished. I also appreciate the attendant’s thoughtful consideration regarding dessert. The view of Futami’s sea from the panoramic bath was exceptional—I enjoyed it many times: before dinner, after dinner, and early in the morning. The location of this Accommodation is also perfect for accessing Futami Okitama Shrine. After check-in, after dinner, at sunrise time, and after check-out, I was able to visit a total of four times—it meant so much to me. Every view was wonderful, but the scenery at sunrise was truly unforgettable. Staying at “Oishiya” made this an outstanding trip. If I have another opportunity, I would love to stay again. The meals were beautifully presented, and everything tasted truly delicious. They were a delight to look at as well, and you could feel the care put into each dish. The Room was also thoroughly cleaned, and we were able to spend our time comfortably. The staff kindly answered our questions, which helped us learn about the origins of Kaminoyama Onsen and plan our sightseeing. My spouse loved it too and said we would like to stay again for the meals. We had a relaxing, comfortable stay and it was a wonderful time.
