Hotel Shibukawa Hills

I headed there by motorcycle this time, but it unexpectedly broke down and I couldn’t make it… If I get another chance, I’d like to stay there.If I had to mention one thing, the staff weren’t rude or careless, but when I was arranging the cancellation around 8:00 PM, the person I spoke with used fairly broken Japanese. It would be helpful if that could be improved.

I stayed here for the first time on my way back from Kusatsu.With welcome drinks (including some alcohol) and coffee, free curry rice for dinner on weekdays, a large public bath with a sauna on the 5th floor with great views plus a women-only bath that can be reserved privately depending on the time slot, rental bicycles, a relaxation Room (comics, free massage chairs, hammocks), free parking (with EV charging) despite being close to the station and dining area, and an affordable breakfast on the top floor—this Hotel offers exceptionally great value for money. The foreign staff at the front desk were also kind and courteous. It was also surprisingly convenient to have an in-Room telephone to contact the front desk, which is becoming less common these days.Of course, there are signs of age in the Facility equipment, but everything was well cleaned and it didn’t bother me. Breakfast is quite simple in terms of variety, but there was rice, bread, dessert, etc., and I found it more than sufficient. The miso soup had plenty of ingredients!If I had to suggest improvements:1) I’m not sure if it’s only on the 4th floor, but there is a change in floor height in the hallway on the guest Room floor. If you don’t know about it beforehand, you could trip and lose your balance. Warning signage should be placed on both sides.2) For the free parking lot beside the building, I’d like clearer signage indicating which spaces are for Hotel guests. Seeing a sign that says “Unauthorized parking: 10,000 yen” can feel unsettling if it’s your first time.In any case, I would definitely stay again when visiting Gunma. With rising costs everywhere I imagine running things isn’t easy—but this is exactly the kind of Hotel I hope will keep going strong.
