Hotel Yoshino

I booked a stay after reading the Reviews and seeing how highly rated it was.Just as the Reviews said, the entire Hotel was well maintained and very clean, and I was very satisfied.The building itself is old, but it was kept so clean that I didn’t mind at all. Above all, the staff were thoughtful and attentive, and I’d like to stay here again.

I made the Reservation feeling a bit uneasy about how low the price was, but overall I was extremely satisfied. The Room felt a little dated, but there were no unpleasant odors, and the toilet seemed to have been renovated and was very clean. The cleaning also appeared thorough; if I had to mention one thing, there was dust on the window screen, and it caught my eye before the distant view did.What I was most curious about at the time of Reservation was the meal served in stacked boxes, but it wasn’t cold at all. The steak was very tender, and we enjoyed everything until we were full—including a whole abalone. Even the mango pudding for dessert was rich and delicious. If I had to suggest an improvement, the pouch soy sauce and plastic spoon felt a bit lacking in atmosphere.There are two large public baths, and in the open-air bath tatami mats were laid out everywhere, which made me feel like royalty. It’s enclosed so you can’t be seen from nearby tall buildings, so you can’t really enjoy a view—slightly disappointing, but understandable.It also felt reassuring that many of the staff at reception were older Japanese people. To be honest, on domestic trips I’m often disappointed when service is handled by foreigners.We didn’t mind at all that futons were already laid out in our Room or that we carried our finished meal trays outside ourselves; it felt like thoughtful efforts to keep labor costs down. The stacked-box meal concept was especially wonderful. I’m writing an honest Review because if Reviews are too positive, I’d hate for Reservations to become harder to get in the future. I would definitely like to stay again.
