Tateyama Onsen Sunset Coast Shokaku

While the exterior is not flashy or luxurious at all,the rooms are very stylish and spotlessly clean, and both the food and service were excellent—we were extremely satisfied.We will definitely stay here again.

The day before our stay, my husband and I suddenly decided to go to Tateyama, and without even checking this Hotel’s website, we hurriedly made a Reservation because there were only two Rooms left. Based on past experience and the seaside location—and the name “Sunset Coast”—we assumed an ocean view would be a given. On the way, my husband looked at the Hotel’s website and told me not to expect much of a view. As it turned out, our Room only had a partial sea view if you looked sideways from the window.However, when I checked the website more carefully, it clearly stated that there may be no ocean view. More importantly, any small complaints were completely outweighed by the friendly staff (though few in number) and the delicious food—there may not be much luxury feel overall, but the meals were excellent. It was also nice that despite being a large Facility, it didn’t feel crowded.In conclusion, thank you for taking care of us—we had an enjoyable one-night stay.One thing I still don’t understand is why it was listed as “only two Rooms left” even though there didn’t seem to be many guests staying.
