REX HOTEL Beppu

On this trip, we made a Reservation for three twin Rooms for three groups: my son and his wife with their infant, another family, and my third son. The in-room bath was a little small, but it was separate from the toilet, which made it easy to bathe our infant safely in the Room. The view of the sea in Beppu from the Room was also very beautiful. The Onsen was not too hot and felt great. The shower had a ReFa shower head.There was a wide variety of food, and my younger son and daughters-in-law were very satisfied. The staff kindly spoke to my eldest son’s child (who is still only two) and even lent us some toys. They also lent my other daughter-in-law, who was holding an infant, a basket-like baby bed so the baby could lie down, which made her very happy. Thank you to the lounge staff.I was also surprised that guests go barefoot throughout the Hotel—there were no slippers at all. It was very relaxing, and even our toddler felt safe walking around as if we were at home. We were extremely satisfied and would love to stay again if we have another opportunity.

After taking off your shoes at the entrance, you go barefoot inside the Hotel (slippers and socks are available next to the front desk). I couldn’t help worrying that cleaning must be tough, but there was no dirt anywhere and the interior was kept very clean.As soon as you step into your Room, an oceanfront view fills your sight. That alone made me feel glad I chose this place.We chose a Plan with breakfast and dinner included. Dinner started with three simple dishes (not great) followed by a buffet.It seems you can also add a 90-minute all-you-can-drink option. The dinner and breakfast buffets had an average selection, but they also offered some local specialties, and you could really see the chef’s effort. We didn’t feel like going out to eat (the Hotel is on a main road, so family restaurants are within walking distance, and there seem to be several options if you drive), so we ate at the restaurant here—and it was more than satisfying.We thoroughly enjoyed Beppu’s waters in the large Onsen bath. The changing area displays that day’s sunrise and sunset times, so it looks like you could enjoy Beppu Bay’s magnificent sunrise or sunset while soaking in the Onsen. Everyone at the restaurant and front desk greeted us politely as well, which left a great impression. Thank you very much.
