    Packed with excitement

    I stayed here on a family trip with my father and sister. Unfortunately it rained, but as soon as the Hotel came into view, I couldn’t stop feeling excited by its beautiful exterior. The Room was a standard maisonette. The stairs were a bit steep for my father in his 80s, but we were very satisfied with the spacious Room. The Onsen wasn’t overly hot, and there were several options including an open-air panoramic bath and a medicinal bath, so I enjoyed it both in the evening and in the morning. Both the dinner and breakfast buffets had a great variety of dishes, and I ate until I was completely full while trying to decide what to choose. There were still more things I wanted to try, but I simply couldn’t eat any more…! Since there was only one elevator for going up and one for going down, depending on the time it wasn’t always easy to get around smoothly, but otherwise everything was excellent. My father and sister were both very happy and said they’d like to come again. I’d love to stay here again too.

    Summer Vacation

    We stayed here during my grandchild’s summer vacation. Unfortunately, it rained heavily on the day we arrived. Our Room was a maisonette-style Room, which was perfect for two families staying together. The Onsen had an open-air bath and a cypress bath, and the water was pleasantly warm, which was great for my elementary school-aged daughter as well. Meals were buffet-style, with lots of favorites, and everyone was delighted. In the evening there was a festival with a treasure hunt and dice games, as well as ring toss and target shooting, and we all had a wonderful time. The next day the weather improved, and we were able to visit the Hakuba Iwatake Ropeway too, making it a truly enjoyable summer vacation.

    The bath is great.

    The bath was great, but the buffet selection was somewhat disappointing.

    The Hotel was very b...

    The Hotel was very beautiful and the exterior was highly attractive, but the Room felt somewhat dated. The location right in front of the ski slopes was extremely convenient and excellent. On the other hand, I was bothered by the smell of tobacco on the first floor. Dinner was very satisfying and truly delicious. Breakfast was also tasty, healthy, and enjoyable. It felt a bit inconvenient that there is no luggage storage service before check-in or after check-out. Also, Rooms on the 10th floor do not have a direct elevator, which was slightly inconvenient. Additionally, it was not possible to split a one-day lift ticket into two half-day tickets.

    I always stay here when traveling to the Hakuba area. It is a quiet and relaxing accommodation.

    This is the third time.

    I always use this Hotel for bike touring. This time, we were a smaller group of 7 people, but it was still an enjoyable trip. Thank you! The Hotel had no issues, and the large bath made it feel uncrowded and relaxing. The meals offered a wide variety, which I think is great. If possible, having a signature dish would make it even better. I was slightly surprised by the high price of alcohol in the vending machines. Since the shop opens at 5 PM, arriving early means missing out on purchasing cheaper alcohol from the shop, which felt like a bit of a loss. Other than that, it's an excellent Hotel! I will definitely stay again!

    Accommodation for Solo Travelers

    I planned to visit Happo Pond and was able to book a single stay. I made a reservation nearby for an onsen, buffet, and single stay. The plan was flexible according to the weather, and the price was within 15,000 yen, which was great. In the morning, it seemed cold as there was frost on the car.

    I had a great time!

    Upon arrival, we immediately enjoyed the lounge. Relaxing on the sofa with a massage chair, drinks, and snacks. The nuts and dried fruits were delicious. And what we loved was that you could "take items back to your room," so we grabbed some drinks after 9 PM and enjoyed them while relaxing in our room. While taking photos inside the facility, a staff member kindly offered to take a family photo for us and showed great attentiveness in various situations. All the staff had wonderful smiles. The sashimi and sushi from the dinner's selectable dish menu were incredibly luxurious and surprising! We had fun playing table tennis and mini-golf, fully enjoyed the Onsen, and had an excellent stay overall. Thank you very much!

    I always book a Plan that includes breakfast and dinner, so after check-in, I relax and enjoy my time inside the facility until check-out.

    Perfect Base for Exploring the Northern Alps

    We stayed for two nights while traveling around Hakuba and Azumino. The European-style beautiful building and the spacious maisonette-type Room made it a truly memorable trip. Although we couldn't eat much at the dinner buffet due to our age, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The only disappointment was that there was no open-air bath in the men's bath, but the waterfall shower was excellent!

    The late-night meal ...

    The late-night meal was a buffet. The tempura only included pumpkin, zucchini, apple, and shimeji mushrooms—no shrimp or other options—and the portions were very small. The steak was only pork. Although it was supposed to be available until 9 PM, they started cleaning up at 8:30 PM. Guests were also asked to lay out their own futons. It felt more like a training facility than a hotel. Considering the price of nearly 30,000 yen, it was quite disappointing.

    Old Hotel

    I chose this Hotel for trekking based on good Reviews. The Hotel is old, and both the interior and towels had a peculiar smell, making it less comfortable. Dinner was a course where you could choose the main dish from six options, and all the main dishes were very delicious. However, the buffet was quite disappointing, especially breakfast which was not good at all. I always use IKYU.com, and since there wasn’t much difference from the Reviews this time as well, I found it very disappointing overall.

    The bath is relaxing and comfortable.

    The bath was very relaxing. The meals were the usual buffet style. The taste was good, but there was no classic tempura shrimp, and the sushi only had salmon and shrimp, which felt a bit stingy overall. However, the French toast was incredibly delicious. What disappointed us the most was that even though we booked two rooms for our family, the rooms were far apart. It was inconvenient to go back and forth between them. In all other accommodations we've stayed at before, our rooms were always next to each other. When we asked at check-in if they were separated, we only got a simple "Yes" as a response. With activities like raffles and festivals, this accommodation seems enjoyable for families with children.

    I thought the Hotel ...

    I thought the Hotel was doing its best to compensate for the outdated Facility and staff shortage. However, it did not seem to meet the quality expected from IKYU for a special occasion. I never imagined we would end up sharing the experience with a group on a school trip... (They were shouting loudly in the bath, behaving as they pleased in the sauna. It was far from an environment where one could enjoy the Onsen.) If it were an ordinary travel site, I wouldn't complain, but I was disappointed because I trusted IKYU's selection. Of course, I understand that a certain quantity of Hotels is necessary for a Reservation site, but if luxury is the selling point, I think more consideration is needed.

    Wife's Birthday

    I stayed with my son's friend's family. During that period, it was my wife's birthday. We couldn't prepare a whole cake at the hotel because it was too last-minute, but they helped us find a cake shop at the foot of the mountain and were very considerate in various ways. We were able to have a wonderful vacation. I am full of gratitude! If I may say, it would be helpful if barcode payments like ◯◯ Pay could be advanced within the property (vending machines, delivery, food and beverage department).
