COVA KAKUDA

We booked this Accommodation for our annual summer trip as a couple, as we had wanted to visit for a long time.Although the Accommodation is surrounded by the sea, it was calm with little rocky-shore scent, and the sea breeze felt fresh and pleasant.There are only four Rooms, and after researching in advance, we made a Reservation for a Room close to the deck and the ocean—exactly the location we loved.Inside, there was a faint scent of wood,and details like a small raised tatami area and subtly varied wood grain in parts of the flooring made it simple yet very comfortable.It’s a small thing, but I was also happy they had a good-quality hair iron available.For activities, we tried SUP and the sunset cruise.It was cloudy, but that actually meant it wasn’t too hot, so we were able to fully enjoy both.My husband also enjoyed listening to records on the audio system in the lobby (I think).We had planned to watch the stars by a bonfire after dinner, but unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate… however,the staff prepared sparklers for us,and we were able to enjoy them quietly.The meal was a course menu that reflected glimpses of the local-born chef’s unique creativity, and it was fun just imagining what would come next from reading the menu.Everything was thoughtfully prepared and delicious,but perhaps because of their background in Japanese cuisine,the dashi-based soup in particular tasted exceptional.Also, although everyone working in the kitchen seemed young, they created such a pleasant atmosphere and appeared well trained in their respective fields.It was a short trip, but it felt like an escape from everyday life and left us refreshed—I think I can work hard again.It was truly wonderful Accommodation, and I hope to return again in another season.

Everything was outstanding—the surroundings, the Room, the meals, and the service. How do you create such a comfortable place? Relaxing while gazing at the water was wonderful, and the activities were fun as well. The staff also seemed to truly enjoy their work, and their passion and sincerity came through.I felt refreshed both physically and mentally. I’d love to visit again!
