Hakone Honbako

This was my second stay since April, and I stayed for two nights again this time. There was a different selection of books than last time, and I finally found one I’d been curious about for a while—I ended up reading it straight through to the end. The in-Room Onsen and the open-air bath downstairs were amazing! The Häagen-Dazs ice cream and juices were delicious too, and it felt so good to relax after the bath—sipping juice in the dimly lit space while absentmindedly watching short films. The meals were also excellent—everything was carefully prepared with seasonal ingredients. The food felt gentle on the body. For lunch on the second day, I had the summer vegetable curry, which was delicious as well. The property is always quiet and calming, so I was able to unwind at my own pace and truly relax on my own. It was an amazing three days. I’d love to come back for another two-night stay within this year. Thank you very much!

I stayed for one night as a birthday treat for myself.Not only was the Hotel’s atmosphere wonderful, but above all, every member of staff was incredibly kind and warm, making my entire stay truly comfortable.On the tour I joined before dinner, everything was explained with great care—from the Hotel’s history to stories related to the cuisine—so I enjoyed the meal even more afterward. I was genuinely impressed by everyone’s professionalism.Every dish was delicious, and the service was excellent.The other guests were also calm and considerate, so there was no noise or anything unpleasant at all, and I could relax from the bottom of my heart.The Room was clean and comfortable—an extremely satisfying stay in every way.Just one note about access: if you get off at the wrong cable car stop, you’ll end up walking about 16 minutes along a mountain path to reach the Hotel. (It isn’t long time-wise, but there are some very steep slopes, so it was a bit tough.)Since I’m not used to cable cars and didn’t know you can’t cross to the opposite platform after getting off, I thought it might be clearer for first-time visitors if your website included guidance such as “Please exit on the right.”I would love to visit again as another treat for myself.Thank you very much for such an unforgettable experience and wonderful memories.
