    The meals are outstanding!

    This was our first trip to Toyama. We stayed two nights in Unazuki and then two nights here. We chose this Accommodation for its convenient access to Tateyama Station and the Shuttle Service. Based on a Review saying the meals were delicious, we adults were really looking forward to dining here, though we were a little worried about whether our elementary-school son—used to buffets—would enjoy it. But both days completely exceeded our expectations! Our son even asked for seconds and was very satisfied with the meals. As parents, we also appreciated being able to eat more balanced dishes than at a buffet. After long days at Kurobe Dam, having the meals brought right to us while we simply sat down was perfect for our tired bodies. The day before visiting Kurobe Dam, we wanted something light and an early night, so we chose the Japanese set meal—but it was far more filling than expected. On the second day, we tried the Hotel’s popular creative kaiseki course, and it was absolutely the right choice! The delicious Toyama cuisine had us enjoying more sake than planned, and the recommended sake was incredibly good. As for the Onsen, I found the atmosphere and dim lighting of the indoor bath a little scary at night (haha), but the water itself was excellent. It’s a shame I only managed to go in twice. Personally, I found the ultrasonic bubble bath especially soothing. The Facility inside feels a bit dated in places, but everything was clean throughout. We enjoyed table tennis as a family; since they said the air conditioning wasn’t working properly, we ended up drenched in sweat—but that made soaking in the open-air bath afterward feel amazing (or so my family said). The self-service drinks after bathing were also wonderfully refreshing. Every staff member provided pleasant service with outstanding hospitality. For our first visit to Kurobe Dam, we made an early-morning Reservation to avoid crowds—and there aren’t many Accommodations that will serve breakfast starting in the 5 o’clock hour to match that schedule. The Shuttle Service also ran with plenty of time built in; thanks to that, we could relax at Tateyama Station and even secure seats in the very front row of cable car. On our return trip as well, they were already waiting for us at Tateyama Station—after Kurobe Dam plus hiking around Murodo and searching for rock ptarmigan (we found one!), their bus looked almost divine to our family. Thank you very much... Maintaining this level of service is truly impressive. Whenever we go on the Alpine Route again, it will definitely be Mori no Kaze—I highly recommend it! Access from Toyama City is excellent too—only about 40 minutes. This time we got caught in heavy rain under Toyama’s weather alert level and couldn’t visit Mandala Yuen Park/Playground area (Mandara Yuen), so we’ll come back next year—hopefully during autumn foliage season!

    An Accommodation where you can relax in a soothing hot-spring atmosphere

    The front desk, Facility, meals, Onsen, and Room were all very comfortable at this Hotel. It’s an Accommodation I’d love to stay at again when visiting Tateyama. Being close to Tateyama Station was also a plus.

    As last year, staying overnight again this year after climbing Mt. Tateyama.

    As in last year, we stayed here during the Obon holidays after spending two nights at Hotel Tateyama for a Mt. Tateyama (Oyama) climb. Dinner was better than last year; we were disappointed then, but this year we truly enjoyed the chef’s creative dishes. We look forward to future improvements as well. The Onsen is pleasantly silky and is free-flowing from the source, which was excellent for our tired bodies after hiking and other activities. One disappointing point was that at breakfast we were not told that milk was available. Other guests in nearby Rooms were asked after they sat down, but we were not. An older male staff member seemed busy, but that is not an excuse—service should be consistent for all guests from a management perspective. If it’s being forgotten due to busyness, measures such as using a checklist could help. We hope to see improvement here too in the future.

    I was able to relax in the Onsen.

    We were able to fully enjoy the Onsen in the annex and relax with a leisurely dinner of creative Japanese cuisine. The amenities were well stocked, and there were also activities such as a kids’ playroom, fireworks, and stargazing, making it a family-friendly Accommodation. It would be even better if there were a private dog run.

    After a Walk in the Tateyama Mountain Range

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. Although it had been hot for several days, we were fortunate with the weather. After hiking in the Tateyama Mountain Range and coming down by bus and cable car, we stayed with you. From our arrival through dinner, thank you for your thoughtful care that allowed us to relax and enjoy our time at ease. We were also able to soak in the bath and soothe our tired bodies. We would love to visit again.

    We had a very comfortable stay.

    I stayed in a triple room with friends. The bath was spacious, and the Onsen was very relaxing. The meals were also delicious. I especially liked the sake recommended by staff member Ms. Miidera. Breakfast was not a buffet, so we could enjoy it at a relaxed pace and were very satisfied. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Meals: Highly satisfying

    It was my first time staying here. First of all, the Shuttle Service for the Alpine Route was a huge help (even though the rain and wind became very severe from late morning that day, and I had no choice but to come down much earlier than planned). The dinner was excellent, and I was very satisfied. I thought breakfast was good as well, but since I usually prefer a Western-style meal, I would appreciate having that option if possible. All of the Hotel staff were professional and provided pleasant service. The children’s play area was also very well equipped, and it made me think that next time I might bring my grandchildren too. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

    The place was very clean, and the bathroom was great.

    The room was thoroughly cleaned down to every detail. The greenery around the open-air bath was beautiful, and perhaps thanks to the Onsen, my lower back pain improved. I’d love to visit again if I have the chance!

    If you’re coming for the baths, Shikisai is the place to stay.

    We stayed in Shikisai with an in-Room bath, and it was excellent. The free-flowing hot spring water had a great quality, and plenty of bath towels were provided, so we could enjoy the bath as often as we liked without any stress. We went to the large public bath once, but there were many day-use guests and families with small children, so it didn’t feel very relaxing. The jacuzzi is also small, so it can be hard to use when other guests are there. We also enjoyed our meals in a private dining Room at a relaxed pace, and the staff were very kind. One minor disappointment was when buying souvenirs: the male staff member quoted the total verbally without ringing it up at the register, and simply placed the items and a bag on the counter instead of packing them.

    We were a group of four men in our late 40s, and the male staff member at the front desk provided outstanding service, making it a wonderful memory for us! We will definitely come again!

    The property is very...

    The property is very close to Tateyama Station, and with frequent Shuttle Service buses, access was extremely convenient. The Room was spacious, and the Facility and amenities were well equipped, making for a very comfortable stay. The Onsen in particular had excellent water quality—my skin felt smooth after bathing, and I was very satisfied. On the other hand, there were a few disappointing points regarding the meals. In particular, the white rice did not seem fully cooked and felt somewhat dry, lacking gloss and stickiness. I think it would be even better if this could be improved. Overall, the location and Onsen were major highlights, and I enjoyed a comfortable stay. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    It was great.

    The Room and meals were great, and we were very satisfied. The only issue was that our dog had to stay behind alone. Since meals are served in a private dining room, it would be perfect if dogs could also enter the dining room as long as they are kept in a pen or crate. Leaving our dog behind during meals made it hard to relax. For the bath, my husband and I took turns so our dog was not left alone, but at mealtimes our dog became anxious being alone in an unfamiliar place for the first time.\nOther than that, we had a very comfortable stay. If possible, we would appreciate a later check-out time such as 11:00.

    Someone else said it too—the hospitality is outstanding.

    It’s an older Accommodation, but it’s well maintained and very comfortable. The staff were genuinely attentive and thoughtful, not just going through the motions. The meals were high quality and made with care. Warm dishes were served in warmed tableware, pickles in charming small plates, and the broth and seasoning gently sank in with every bite. The servers and the kitchen team alike were truly wonderful—anyone can tell. I’d love to stay again.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    We stayed here to visit the Snow Corridor. Since we could only get a cable car Reservation from Tateyama Station around noon, we were able to relax until just before check-out time. The meals, Room, and bath were all excellent.

    The bath in the Room is excellent.

    This time, the Room had a private Onsen bath with free-flowing hot spring water, and above all, the water was truly wonderful! It left my skin silky smooth and warmed me up thoroughly. The Room layout was practical and well designed, and it was kept very clean. We could also park right next to the entrance, which made it easy to head out quickly. I’d definitely like to come again next year.

    A convenient base for visiting the Snow Corridor.

    We stayed for two nights because the Snow Corridor bus tour stops by this Hotel, making it easy to join. The detached Room was spacious and relaxing, with a panoramic view of the mountain ridgelines outside the window. We woke up to the sound of Japanese bush warblers in the morning and felt refreshed, surrounded by nature. The large public bath was quite hot, so we mainly used the free-flowing Onsen in our Room. The temperature was comfortable on the first day, but it was very cool on the morning of day two and too hot on the morning of day three. Since it is a free-flowing source Onsen, it felt wasteful to adjust it with hot or cold water, so I hope the heating can be kept more consistent. Also, the door from the main building to the detached Rooms felt like a service entrance, and there is almost no roof outside. When wind and rain are strong, you get wet when going in and out, so I would appreciate some measures for better protection from wind and rain.

    It was a clean Room.

    We stayed in a detached Room. Everything was clean and relaxing. At check-in, the bath was already filled with continuously flowing hot spring water, which made us very happy.

    We had a good time, but it could have been a little better.

    I stayed at Bettei Shikisai. I really liked the Room—it was very nice and relaxing. The in-room bath was also very comfortable and enjoyable. However, the water became lukewarm at night, which was disappointing. By the next morning, it was at just the right temperature again. The food was delicious for both dinner and breakfast. What concerned me was the service from the staff at the front desk. I wouldn’t say it was good. Especially at checkout, one staff member had an attitude like, “What do you want? I’m busy.” It’s a shame, because both the Onsen and the meals were great.

    The Onsen and meals were great, but it felt overpriced.

    We stayed two nights in a detached Room with a private Onsen. Meals were served in a private dining room, so we could relax and eat at our own pace. The dishes used local ingredients and were served in just the right portions for us, as we can’t eat as much as we used to. Everything was prepared with a variety of cooking methods and seasonings, and all of it was delicious. Younger guests may find the portions a bit small. The Onsen water had a pleasantly silky texture, making for an excellent bath. All staff at the dining venue were kind, and we enjoyed our time during meals. However, the front desk staff often felt curt. We also requested no cleaning service but asked only for sheet changes and trash removal; neither was done, which suggested poor communication with housekeeping. At checkout, we were told only the total amount without being shown an itemized bill first, which surprised us as we have not experienced this at other Accommodations. As for the Facility aspects: to reach the in-room bath you have to walk through a short corridor-like passage that was still cold in March; the privacy wall in front of the bath is only partial, so someone could potentially walk around from outside and pass directly in front of it; there were no slippers or chairs on the wood deck; some wooden parts were coming loose; and the humidifying air purifier’s water tray was dirty with mold on the lid. Overall, it felt like there wasn’t enough attention to ensuring guests’ comfort. We like Rooms with private Onsen baths and stay at many different Accommodations, but compared with places we’ve stayed before, this one felt quite overpriced.

    Renting the entire house was great.

    Renting the whole house was great. It came with an Onsen. I wanted to stay one more night, but unfortunately I had other commitments. Since I travel mainly for the Onsen, I always look for rooms with a private Onsen, but sometimes places say they have an open-air bath and it isn’t actually an Onsen. I haven’t found an Accommodation that makes me want to come back—until now. For the first time in a while, I felt like I’d happily return. Because I want to soak in the Onsen as much as possible, it would be appreciated if bathrobes were provided.

    The Onsen was great.

    This Accommodation may be geared toward guests visiting for skiing or hiking, but overall we did not feel we received much in terms of service. However, the Onsen was excellent, and we were able to relax and enjoy a slow pace. We stayed in the annex this time, but check-in had to be completed at the main building. As a result, we had to unload our heavy suitcases from the car to check in, then load them back into the car and drive to the annex. If we had been informed of this in advance, it would have made things much smoother.

    We stayed in the Shikisai Room. Although it started raining in the afternoon, the Room was equipped with umbrellas, rain boots, and a long down coat, so we were able to get around without any trouble. The Onsen in the Room was also wonderful, and everything we needed was provided—we really felt the thoughtful attention to guests’ comfort. We have stayed here several times, and it is always pleasant; it makes us want to come back again.

    Heavy snowfall

    The staff are very kind. We experienced the heaviest snowfall of the year, with over 1 meter of snow accumulating overnight, but thanks to all the staff we had a wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

    A Lovely Detached Annex

    I stayed from the end of the year, and it was wonderful to see the snow falling quietly, with the area in front of the Room softly lit by lights. The bath in the Room is large enough for two adults to use together. When you sit down, classical music plays in the toilet.

    The Onsen is excellent!

    The lounge and creative cuisine are outstanding.

    A short flight of stairs up from the lobby leads to the lounge, where we enjoyed the view through large floor-to-ceiling windows. Sitting back in a comfortable chair and taking in the scenery outside was a peaceful, blissful moment. The chef’s creative cuisine served in a private dining room was outstanding, and we would love to come back for it again. The seasoning was perfectly balanced, and the woman who served us provided excellent service.

    A Relaxing Hotel

    Thank you to all the staff for your warm, friendly hospitality. The kids’ play area is gymnasium-sized—I was amazed! Next time, I’ll come with my grandchild. The meals were delicious, and I was able to relax.
