A town’s time and the lives of its people, shaped by living alongside swords. Hitokata no Accommodation “seppa” is a private rental Accommodation that welcomes guests who feel a connection to the sword culture rooted in this area and to the lives of swordsmiths and other craftsmen.“Seppa” is named after seppa—thin metal spacers that sit on both sides of the tsuba (hand guard), quietly yet securely fastening the blade and hilt together. They are almost invisible from the outside, but without them a sword cannot function as a sword.Like seppa, we hope this Accommodation will be here as a quiet presence that connects sword culture with everyday life in this town—and connects people with one another.

"A&A (Artist & Architect)" is an accommodation created through the collaboration of globally renowned contemporary artists and leading Japanese architects. The concept and design of the building were developed through joint efforts between each artist and architect. The facility itself is a work of art, allowing guests to experience and enjoy art by staying within it. This project has been expanding over approximately 20 years, with two A&A accommodations currently located in Okayama City. Each property is available as a private rental for one group per day, offering guests a serene and private space to relax at their leisure.
