My spouse and I stayed here from August 8 to 10. Since it was during summer vacation, there were various events. What we especially appreciated was the life jacket rental (cheaper than renting at the beach) and the stargazing. The stargazing was easy to join with no Reservation required and free entry/exit. There was also a guide who explained what we were seeing, so we could identify Scorpius, the Milky Way, Cassiopeia, and more under a sky full of stars—it was truly moving. All of the staff were not only kind but also friendly and easy to talk to, and chatting with them was a lot of fun. It’s an Accommodation that made us want to come back!

My first trip to Kozushima and my first stay at a minshuku. (Solo traveler) First of all, I highly recommend staying at Kikuno-ya! A parade of kindness and hospitality! I confidently recommend this place to anyone reading this review! Not only did they provide shuttle service to the port, but they also drove me to the trailhead for hiking (and even explained part of the return route along the way) and took me around various spots for stargazing photography. Time flew by because it was so much fun! The room was spacious and lovely, but before I knew it, it was already 10 PM! The shared bathroom and toilet were very clean. With features like a veranda and a tiled bath, it felt like staying in Mei's house from Totoro—a dream come true! Dinner is luxurious, so make sure you come with an empty stomach! This review has gotten long because there’s so much I want to recommend, but in short: highly recommended! I’ll definitely visit again!

My family of three and our dog stayed for three nights. The Room was very clean and well maintained. Although it seemed to be a busy peak season during Obon, we received a warm welcome and send-off, and the attentive care throughout our stay made us feel at ease. There were plenty of nearby attractions such as Toshiki Swimming Beach and Habu Port, as well as a good selection of places to eat, so the location was great. Above all, because this is a family-run Accommodation, we could catch glimpses of the owners’ daily life and enjoy conversations with other guest families, which made the stay feel genuinely warm and comfortable. We would love to stay again if we have the opportunity.

From the moment you enter the property, you’re greeted by a view that makes you wonder, “Is this really Japan?” The stylish building, lush green lawn, and magnificent ocean view all create an extraordinary escape. This was a gift trip for my companion, and they were truly delighted. - The building feels like a luxurious resort. It’s spacious, impeccably clean, and simply wonderful. With three bedrooms, it’s great for larger groups, but it also had just the right Facility for two people to relax and unwind. From the living room, bedrooms, and bath, the views are breathtaking—an uninterrupted panorama of sea and sky. Bath time while watching the sunset was the highlight of our trip. At night we stepped out onto the balcony to enjoy drinks and stargaze; in this indulgently quiet setting where you hear only the waves, we could admire a sky full of stars. - We also used the BBQ option. We asked to slightly reduce the amount of meat and upgrade the selection; it was just the right portion size, and we were able to grill spiny lobster (Ise-ebi) we bought at a local seafood market as well. Everything is well equipped and clean—even beginners can enjoy BBQ safely with peace of mind. (Please note: as it is in a residential area nearby, use is available until 9:00 PM.) This was our first trip to Izu Oshima, and staying at Miko’s place was absolutely the right choice. We would love to stay here again when we return to Oshima!

Very convenient to use. Room equipped with a refrigerator, microwave available in the lobby, and a separate room with washing machines and dryers (free of charge). Spacious room with high ceilings.

As the title suggests, it was No Meals Included, so it's hard to evaluate other aspects, but the manager was truly exceptional—this is what great hospitality looks like!

The accommodation's service is excellent, and the sauna on the balcony with a stunning view is very relaxing. I would love to stay at this accommodation again.

We were very grateful as we were starving after walking around Mount Mihara. The owner, who was born and raised in Oshima, seems ready to answer any questions you may have.

The Room was very clean. There were surprisingly many amenities provided. It is also very close to Sokodo Bay, which made it very convenient to go to the beach with children. Just outside the Accommodation, there are areas without streetlights, and the starry sky looked beautiful. There is a washer-dryer, so we made full use of it. The sauna also had towels and drinks prepared, and the cold plunge bath felt great. On the other hand, for four guests staying three nights, there were only four cups’ worth each of tea and coffee, with no refills. We finished them in one day. Since this is not a cheap Accommodation, I would at least like tea-type drinks to be available at the sauna drink corner as well. Also, we were told that trash collection is basically not provided. With a kitchen, if you cook you will inevitably have food waste. Leaving it there for all three nights didn’t feel good, so we handed it directly to a staff member who was cleaning partway through. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but including the issue with tea, we couldn’t fully relax into a luxurious feeling, which was a bit disappointing.

Considering the price, it feels like an exceptional deal. You may notice that the Facility is a bit old and amenities are somewhat limited, but it is within an acceptable range.

This Hotel is located at the top of a narrow mountain road. It was very quiet, and the soothing music playing throughout the Hotel made it even more relaxing. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, but if there hadn’t been any fog, we would have been able to see the horizon from our Room and enjoy an even more wonderful view. 　The meals were carefully prepared, and both the fish and roast beef were served with vegetables that paired perfectly with each dish—everything was delicious. The dessert was a yogurt mousse (I’m not sure if that’s correct), but it was excellent. We stayed as a family of four, including our son in his 20s, and everyone left feeling full—though we did ask for extra bread. 　We were told they host only three groups per day, and we were able to use the spacious private family bath as well. It was a stay that freed us from everyday busyness and truly felt like an escape. 　The interior furnishings throughout the Hotel were also thoughtfully arranged and had an elegant feel. 　If we have the chance, we would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I made a Reservation online mainly because of the price, and everything went smoothly—I was able to relax and take my time. The Room walls are thin, and on one night the snoring from right next door was very loud. Since it was midwinter and not a tourist season, there were few guests, and I had one Room to myself for five days. The only other guests seemed to be people photographing stars and birds, and anglers. In warmer seasons, up to 16 people can stay in total, so it may get crowded; if you prefer a quiet stay, I recommend avoiding those periods. What I found useful to bring were slippers, sandals, and an electrical extension cord.

I booked a reservation with breakfast included. The original fish burger, miso soup, and a small selection of Western-style side dishes were incredibly delicious. The public bath is available until 10 PM, and the women's area has enough space for about four people to soak comfortably. It seems the showers can still be used even after hours. I used the hairdryer in my room, so the changing area didn’t get crowded, which was nice. The room was spacious and clean. The wooden flooring made it feel like home. Amenities such as toothbrushes, pajamas, and towels were well-prepared and abundant. I accidentally left my jacket in the closet but received a prompt call right after check-out, allowing me to retrieve it safely. Since I wasn’t wearing it due to the heat, I wouldn’t have noticed without their call—very grateful for that! At night, we went out for dinner elsewhere and got too tired to go stargazing; however, the sunset from nearby Yokote Beach was stunningly beautiful. From our room window, we could see cats outside—it was unexpectedly soothing!

The lobby had a very calm atmosphere, and the staff were warm and welcoming, helping us in many ways throughout our trip.

I stayed here six years ago as well, and it feels like it has improved dramatically since then. Above all, the manager is lovely, and the staff were very attentive, so I had a truly comfortable stay. The Facility was thoroughly cleaned and felt very fresh and spotless. It’s conveniently located close to Motomachi Port and the town hall. There is no bath on-site, but there is an Onsen Facility less than a 5-minute drive away, so it wasn’t an issue at all. It’s a bit pricey, but riding a four-wheel buggy on public roads and through the Ura Desert became a wonderful memory for me. I will definitely stay here again.

It was a one-night stay despite the bad weather. We rested comfortably in a clean Room and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The owner’s hospitality was wonderful, making it a great memory. If we have the chance, we would love to stay again. Thank you for taking care of us.

I stayed in a second-floor Room at Yamashita Ryokan Annex for three nights starting June 17, but I was surprised to find ants in the toilet on the third night. As a guest, I have serious concerns about the Ryokan’s hygiene management. Please ensure this does not happen again in the future.
