On a hilltop on the island, beyond narrow lanes, you’ll find a place where the island’s timeless scenery remains unchanged. In a spectacular location overlooking Shinojima Island, Ise Bay, and Mikawa Bay—and as far as Ise-Shima in the distance—stands the adults-only hidden Accommodation “Shima Besso Yuzuki.” A simple exterior with black wooden boarding inspired by old fishermen’s huts. Inside, diatomaceous earth walls and light wood create a bright, healthy atmosphere; together with warm lighting, the interior soothes tired minds and invites you to unwind. Every guest room features a spacious open wood deck and an open-air bath. The pleasant island breeze and gentle sound of the waves provide relaxing background music. Wami no Yado Kakujoro is a long-established Property founded in 1925, located at the tip of the Atsumi Peninsula. The main building, Kakujoro, and the annex, Izutsuro, are designated as Registered Tangible Cultural Properties of Japan, preserving their serene and nostalgic appearance. In June 2005, the newly constructed annexes "Unjoro" and "Suijoro," featuring rooms with open-air baths, were introduced, blending modern aesthetics with traditional charm to provide a comfortable and relaxing stay. For dining, guests can enjoy kaiseki cuisine prepared with fresh, seasonal seafood sourced from the Atsumi Peninsula area. Our specialty winter dish, the fugu kaiseki, allows you to savor the full flavor of natural tiger pufferfish, a luxurious delicacy. Our Property is located on Mt. Mito, offering a panoramic view of the Mikawa area in Aichi Prefecture. The serene Japanese-style space and the seasonal scenery visible from the windows provide a calming experience. From the guest rooms, terrace, lobby, and rooftop, you can fully enjoy the ever-changing Mikawa landscape from morning to noon to night. From the windows, you can see Mikawa Bay, the distant Lagunasia, and on clear days, a breathtaking sunset sky and evening sun.
