This building was originally a village headman's house where ancestors lived since 1842 (Tenpo 13). Within the premises, there is a nagaya-mon gate, main house, rice storehouse, and garden that have been preserved for 200 years. The rice storehouse, designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property, was renovated in 2005 to start a French restaurant. The owner is the 8th generation here. With the desire to preserve it unchanged for the next 200 years and to offer a complete hospitality experience to our guests, we have built a property on the mountain behind. A one-group-per-day exclusive Property located at the foot of the "Sky Olive Garden" overlooking the Asan Mountain Range. The building has been renovated with architectural elements by Keita Nagata, featuring a Conoid Chair by George Nakashima and AKARI by Isamu Noguchi. The innovative design, where the main house's veranda connects seamlessly through the detached Room, eliminates the boundary between indoors and outdoors, blending harmoniously with nature. The veranda passes through an open-air bath and eventually leads to the eastern olive garden. Guests can freely use the three Rooms: the main living area designed by George Nakashima, the bedroom, and the Japanese-style study Room with a calming ship-bottom ceiling.

Umi no Library is a multi-purpose Facility combining a library, Property, and café, located in the small port town of Sanuki City Tsuda in eastern Kagawa Prefecture, just a 30-second walk from a 1km sandy beach selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Beaches. The books at Umi no Library are collected through drop-off boxes placed at restaurants, guesthouses, and other locations across The whole country that resonate with our concept, creating a system where books drift in from all over Japan. In addition to Umi no Library, we aim to establish collaborative hubs in each prefecture with bookshelves for the "Drifting Library," enabling situations where a book borrowed in Kagawa can be returned at a café in Tokyo, or a book borrowed in Osaka can be returned in Hokkaido. Pick up a book that catches your eye at the library, walk through the alley leading to the sea, and read while listening to the gentle sound of the waves, forgetting the passage of time.
