Kamuroji Mae Station × Highly rated for customer service and hospitality at Hotel·Ryokan

We stayed here with our dog. The two-story detached villa-style Accommodation was spacious enough. It was thoroughly cleaned down to every corner, making our stay very comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were generous in portion size, with a great variety of dishes, and everything tasted excellent. There were plenty of amenities for dogs as well; you do need to bring your own food, but we had no particular issues. The only personal drawback was that there was no wash basin in the bathroom, but even so, it’s a very appealing Accommodation and we were highly satisfied. We would definitely love to visit again.

Ever since I happened to stay here on a trip to Wakayama, I’ve been coming back regularly. This is already my third stay. I get the sense it used to be a love hotel, but in any case, it’s extremely clean and comfortable. For this level of quality, the value for money is outstanding. Highlights: The Room is very spacious and spotless. The toilet and bathroom are separate, and the bath is large enough to soak properly in the tub. The bed is double-sized and roomy. Amenities are well stocked. I still haven’t found any downsides lol. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m back in Wakayama.

Although the building is old, we had an ocean view from the Room and could watch the sunset, and the large public bath also had a sea view—it was wonderful. The staff were very welcoming. There is also a pool during the summer, and it was great to be able to go down to the sandy beach as well. We would like to visit again.

The following items were listed in the Facility information, so I brought them from home, but they were actually provided at the amenity bar. I was very pleased, but it might be helpful to update the Facility information for future guests. × Comb/Brush × Bath Additives × Yukata × Lotion × Emulsion × Makeup Remover This time, I was able to stay at a very reasonable price, and I also appreciated the extension cord and extra towels provided in the Room. I will definitely use this place again when visiting Wakayama!

Right by the sea with an amazing view! We were just as impressed by the wonderful hospitality of all the staff. The meals were also very satisfying, with seasonal vegetables and fresh meat and fish. We spend our days surrounded by air conditioning, so it was refreshing to enjoy the natural, pleasant breeze. Our family is already talking about coming back again next year. Thank you very much.

I come to Wakayama once a month and stay here each time. This time, the front desk was extremely helpful, and I really appreciated it—thank you to the front desk staff. Also, when I write my requests on the in-room questionnaire, they are sometimes fulfilled later on. I’m very grateful. I also like the Facilities, such as the large parking lot, public bath, and breakfast service.

As soon as I walked in, the Room was so wonderful that I got really excited. All of the staff were polite and amazing. The food and the Thai boat platter were excellent, and it made me very happy. I also had flowers prepared as part of the Plan, and they were beautifully arranged with great taste—absolutely stunning! I definitely want to stay again.

When I visit my parents’ home, I stay here once or twice a year. I always book the Moderate Twin, and the Room is spacious and very quiet, so I can relax and rest well. Breakfast has a great variety and is very satisfying. This time (I don’t think it was available last time), there were options like shabu-shabu, steamed vegetables, and meat soup, all of which were delicious. Also, I love tea but watch my caffeine intake. They had decaf options I haven’t seen elsewhere, such as decaf Earl Grey, which was wonderful. They’ve also created a guest lounge using part of the breakfast restaurant area, where you can enjoy soft drinks anytime. It seems like a great place to unwind as well. The rooftop area is still open and remains a soothing space. However, they used to offer one complimentary drink including alcoholic options, and that service has ended, which was a bit disappointing (maybe it was replaced by the lounge?). In any case, I’d definitely like to stay again.

I stayed for one night on a business trip. I chose this Hotel because I wanted to enjoy a large bath, and the Onsen was incredibly relaxing. The shower head was also a ReFa Fine Bubble, which I had been wanting to try, so I was very pleased. Breakfast was delicious—I ended up eating too much. The Hotel Room was spacious and comfortable. I also appreciated the attentive support with arranging a taxi and lending me an iron.

The breakfast was delicious. Our Room was on the second floor, and the large public baths were on the first and second floors, so they were very close and we enjoyed them both morning and night. We often stay at Route Inn in various locations. We appreciate that the price matches the service.

It was a late check-in as I only used it mostly for sleeping. Although the room was small, there were drink bar services and breakfast included, making it very cost-effective!

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. What we liked We were able to complete the check-in process as soon as we arrived. We could use the pool both before check-in and after check-out. The pool changing room was fully air-conditioned. The meals were delicious and very carefully prepared. What was disappointing We would have appreciated having hand towels provided. There were only bath towels available, so it was difficult to dry our hands after washing.

The building is old, but it feels like it has been renovated as much as possible. The elevator is old, but the Room feels nice. The toilet is modern, and the bath is separate and spacious—great for relaxing. The water pressure is low, about two-thirds of what I have at home. For parking, you can choose either JPY 1,000 with free in-and-out access, or the JPY 900 lot across the street with a 24-hour lock-in system. I appreciated how the front desk staff tried their best to be kind, so I also made sure to use the Room as neatly as possible. As for the large public bath... well... yeah (lol).

This was a wonderfully rustic Onsen that Onsen lovers will adore. The naturally gushing spring water flows abundantly, and you can truly feel the power of nature. It also gets very lively with day-trip visitors. We stayed with the conger eel (hamo) course, and what surprised us most—given the simple exterior—was how outstanding the cuisine was. It was like a high-end kaiseki meal: beautifully presented, with seasonal touches so refined it almost felt too beautiful to eat. The soup course even featured delicate dew-like droplets, and as we enjoyed an authentic kaiseki course, we were warmed by the chefs’ heartfelt hospitality. It was our first time having an all-hamo menu from start to finish in so many different preparations! Even delicacies like liver and swim bladder were included—proof of exceptional freshness. The hot pot ingredients featured white vegetables and tofu chosen to match the hamo’s translucent look; even that alone felt like early summer had arrived, and it was subtly garnished with fresh green maple leaves misted lightly for a dewy finish. We were truly moved. Our whole family agreed there’s no more luxurious hamo course than this. With spring quality worthy of being called a hidden hot spring and cuisine that delights both the eyes and palate, it felt incredibly indulgent—and we’re grateful it’s so close to Osaka. The staff were wonderful, and the Accommodation was impeccably clean throughout. This was the most impressive stay we’ve had in recent years!

The staff were pleasant and helpful, and I had a comfortable stay. In the early morning, cigarette smoke came into the Room from somewhere, and it ended up smelling like a smoking Room (even though it was non-smoking). I’m not sure why.

I think both the Room and the Hotel were thoroughly cleaned; everything was very spotless. Perhaps because my Room was on the top floor, the view was wonderful, and I found myself looking outside again and again. The layout also felt spacious—there was plenty of room even with my suitcase opened on the floor, and I really appreciated having a table-and-chair set as well. The only downside was the shower curtain. Whether it was too short or not wide enough, the floor ended up getting wet all three times (and I’m usually careful when showering). From another perspective, though, the service from an experienced female front desk staff member was excellent. She kindly responded to my request for “a place within a 15-minute walk where I can drink quietly alone and enjoy good tuna,” and explained how to get there in a very thoughtful way. Thanks to her, I got there without getting lost—and it turned out to be the best tuna I’ve ever had. I was also able to relax and take my time. A Hotel with staff who provide such attentive service will surely help younger employees grow as well (sorry if that sounds presumptuous). It’s also a big plus that there is a restaurant, a 24-hour convenience store, and a bakery on the first floor of the building where the Hotel is located. All in all, I had a very pleasant stay.

About a 10-minute walk from Wakayama-shi Station and right in front of Wakayama Castle, the location is excellent. The breakfast was delicious, and it offers great value for money. I’d like to stay here again when I visit Wakayama City.

We stayed as a family. They kindly let us enjoy playing in the river, and the children were delighted. My mother said it was a wonderful Ryokan and that she would like to visit Kajika-so again when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. I was also happy because I had expected to sleep on futons in a Japanese-style room, so having beds was a real comfort for me since I have lower back pain. We would love to visit again as a family. I stayed here for two days for work around Wakayama City. I had visited Wakayama on day trips before, but this was my first overnight stay. With little local knowledge to compare, I chose this Hotel because the price was reasonable and it looked good in the photos. (Location) It seems to be about a 5-minute walk from Nankai Electric Railway’s Wakayamashi Station, so it should be fine even if you’re traveling by train. However, the area is mostly residential with some factories nearby, so there aren’t many restaurants right next door. I recommend planning to eat around the station area. The nearest convenience store is also a bit of a walk, so it’s better to shop beforehand. We came by car with help from someone at our workplace, but perhaps because it was nearly fully booked that day, the adjacent public parking lot was full as well. If you definitely need parking by car, I recommend reserving the Hotel parking in advance. (Room) The Room felt spacious and clean. Even with a suitcase opened on a stand, there was still plenty of space left without getting in the way. The bathroom/toilet seemed relatively new; the bathtub was larger than expected and very comfortable. There was no step up into the bathroom (perhaps because the floor is raised due to stairs near the elevator hall), which made it easy to use. The ceiling didn’t feel low either. A few things about the Room stood out: - The light switches were spread out and hard to understand; labels would be helpful - The air conditioner blew directly onto me—cooling worked well but I worried about comfort/health (may depend on the Room) - It was hard to figure out how to adjust the bath water temperature; it was set all the way toward cold water at first, so hot water took a while and I panicked a bit - The sheets felt slightly damp Overall though, I think it’s a good place. (Service) - Not like big-city hotel staff, but everyone was warm, polite, and pleasant - Around 6:00 a.m., I went downstairs for a drink and staff were at reception; even if there’s an intercom when no one is present, having someone there is reassuring in case of emergencies - When we asked what to do since parking was full, they suggested possible options nearby and that really helped I don’t often stay overnight in Wakayama so I’m not sure if I’ll return myself, but someone who traveled with me comes into Wakayama Prefecture frequently for work—so in that case this could definitely be an option.
