Ōhara Station (Okayama Prefecture) × Highly rated Hotel·Ryokan

We stayed here for sightseeing. We thought it was a Resort Hotel mainly for golf, but it was also a great Hotel to enjoy for sightseeing. The large public bath and open-air bath were at just the right temperature and very relaxing. Dinner featured excellent dishes, plus obanzai, and we were satisfied because we chose the all-you-can-drink option with sake, shochu, and beer. The breakfast buffet was also outstanding. The front desk staff were friendly and fun, and we made wonderful memories.

This was my first time experiencing a wood stove, and it was much warmer than I imagined, allowing me to spend a very precious and comfortable time. Although it rained on the day, the barbecue area was well-equipped with roofing and rain protection, so we could enjoy ourselves without worrying about the weather. The entire accommodation was thoroughly cleaned, making it very clean and comfortable. The furniture and interior were chosen to match the traditional Japanese house atmosphere, creating a calm space where I could relax. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils like dishes and a rice cooker, so you can easily cook your own meals by just bringing ingredients. I highly recommend this accommodation for those who want to relax while enjoying nature and the charm of an old Japanese house.

We stayed with a group of seven: our family of four, my mother, and my younger brother and his wife. Even though it was during Golden Week, we were able to spend a very relaxing time without feeling the crowds of the tourist areas. What we liked It’s an art-themed Hotel, and the kids were thrilled with the NARUTO figures. There was a convenience store and a local supermarket just a short drive away, so shopping for supplies was easy. It was fun that our large group could all stay together in one villa. What could be improved The Japanese-style room felt a bit small, and it was quite difficult to lay out four futons. It was slightly inconvenient that there were no tissues provided in the room. Overall, we were very satisfied—it was such a relaxing stay that it hardly felt like Golden Week. We highly recommend this Accommodation for large group trips.

We stayed here as a couple during the snowy season in January and had a wonderful time, so this time we booked two maisonette cottages and stayed with our daughter’s and son’s families as well. We also planned a surprise celebration for my husband’s retirement, and thanks to the kind help of the staff member, we were able to spend a truly special time. It’s a lovely cottage where we would definitely like to stay again.

The Facility is a bit far from the Onsen, and unfortunately, the temperature adjustment of the Onsen was out of order this time, making it slightly lukewarm, and the open-air bath was unavailable. However, the Room was spacious, with a large private bath and washroom. The meals were excellent with sukiyaki and udon-suki options available. Rice refills were free, and soft drinks were unlimited. It was overall very enjoyable. Since the Room is large, heating might be less effective in midwinter and could feel slightly cold; however, an oil fan heater was provided, which made it manageable.
