Since Toyotomi Hideyoshi frequently held tea ceremonies with Sen no Rikyū, Arima Onsen, known as Japan's oldest onsen with a history of 1300 years, has continuously attracted visitors. Located on a hill overlooking the onsen town, Takasansou Kanno quietly stands. It is a property where the harmony of flowers, furnishings, and architecture naturally blends into the heart.
At the foot of Mount Rokko lies Arima Onsen, said to be the oldest in Japan. The kunugi tree, with its budding, fresh green, autumn leaves, and bare branches, may symbolize the joys of the seasons. Two golden hot springs with different mineral compositions and a radon-rich silver spring spread out as if hidden within the forest. Enjoy moments of relaxation, rest, and conversation amidst the natural hot springs and serene environment.
A Japanese-modern Property opened in 2017. In addition to Kinsen, we also have our own Ginsen source, making it one of the few Properties where you can enjoy both Kinsen and Ginsen. For dinner, enjoy a fusion of Japanese and French cuisine prepared with carefully selected ingredients by our chef, served at the restaurant. We offer a variety of relaxation options, including spa treatments within the Property and massages in your Room. Indulge in fine dining and Onsen, and enjoy a relaxing stay that satisfies all your senses. We also have Rooms with private Onsen featuring a blend of Kinsen and Ginsen. * Please note that due to the structure of the building, there are about 20 steps at the entrance and a staircase of one floor to access the Rooms. * Children under 12 years old are not permitted.
Every room features a modern open-air bath with golden Arima hot-spring water, a private sauna, an indoor bath with cold-plunge capability, and a fully equipped kitchen. Designed for complete freedom 24 hours a day, this is functional beauty that lets you stay exactly as you wish—undisturbed by anyone. Each uniquely designed room is adorned with materials and art inspired by the theme of “plants and roots.” Step inside and the noise of everyday life fades away; in the stillness, your senses are set free and mental clutter gently washes away. Drift between Arima’s hot springs and the sauna, quietly realign your inner self, and savor a one-of-a-kind experience.
A shining extraordinary experience in Arima. Upon entering, you are welcomed by a stylish and modern ambiance, refreshing aromas, and soothing healing sounds. The Onsen includes Arima's unique "Kinsen," the radioactive spring "Ginsen," and the "artificial carbonated spring" with high carbon dioxide concentration. Meals are served with "new Japanese cuisine," a fusion of Japanese and Western styles. Enjoy creative and seasonal dishes. Relish a serene holiday away from the hustle and bustle.
A private retreat of standalone log houses nestled in the serene forest of Mount Rokko. Surrounded by lush nature that feels worlds away, despite being just 30 minutes from Sannomiya, enjoy the soothing warmth of a wood-burning stove, the scent of timber, and sheep wandering through the garden. Experience wellness in harmony with nature with amenities like saunas and hot tubs (varies by Plan). Savor seasonal breakfast menus and enjoy BBQ or sukiyaki dinners leisurely in your Room. Kids will love activities like cookie-making and pizza-making workshops. Perfect for couples, families, or special occasions—relax and unwind at this "hidden forest retreat."
