Monjuso Shourotei is a charming single-story wooden accommodation nestled on a small cape, surrounded by aged trees behind the Wisdom Monju-do Hall. Beyond the lush garden lies the serene waters of Aso Sea and the picturesque pine forest of Amanohashidate, one of Japan's three most scenic views. Experience the ever-changing beauty of Japan's nature through different times of day and seasons in this tranquil retreat far removed from worldly noise.Beloved by many literary figures, this accommodation was named "Shourotei" by writer Giichi Fujimoto, who reflected on "the dew that forms on the tips of Amanohashidate’s pine leaves and how it deepens human connections at this travel lodge." The late author Hitoshi Yamaguchi also praised Shourotei in his book "Favorite Places," describing it as "completely flat and peaceful. That flatness seems to stretch endlessly. When 'flatness' comes to mind, I feel calm and relaxed... Every Japanese person should experience that perfectly flat scenery at least once."

This is a standalone house located in a historic townscape—an ideal base for exploring Tango. The living room features a ceiling light with a built-in projector. The dining area is equipped with Amazon Alexa. The main Room on the second floor has a modern Japanese style, with beds in a tatami Room. There are three Rooms in total, accommodating up to 7 guests.
