Monjuso Shourotei is a charming single-story wooden accommodation nestled on a small cape, surrounded by aged trees behind the Wisdom Monju-do Hall. Beyond the lush garden lies the serene waters of Aso Sea and the picturesque pine forest of Amanohashidate, one of Japan's three most scenic views. Experience the ever-changing beauty of Japan's nature through different times of day and seasons in this tranquil retreat far removed from worldly noise.Beloved by many literary figures, this accommodation was named "Shourotei" by writer Giichi Fujimoto, who reflected on "the dew that forms on the tips of Amanohashidate’s pine leaves and how it deepens human connections at this travel lodge." “Wine & Accommodation Chitose” was reborn in 2000 as an Onsen Accommodation where you can enjoy wine, following the renovation of the long-established Ryokan “Chitose Ryokan,” which has welcomed guests since the mid-Edo period. As the owner is a winemaker, our cellar houses 20,000 bottles—especially from France’s Burgundy region. Our cuisine features local ingredients from Tango whenever possible, highlighting their natural flavors while pairing beautifully with wine. We also pay close attention to every detail in each guest room’s furnishings, blending Japanese and Western styles, modern and retro elements to express owner Hirotaka Yamazaki’s unique vision.

Taikyourou, a hidden Japanese-style retreat located right in front of the "Rotating Bridge," the gateway to Amanohashidate. From your Room, enjoy views of the Amanohashidate Canal and pine tree-lined paths. We operate as a Property with a homely atmosphere where you can feel free to stay. The Room you will be staying in is a Japanese-style Room. Although our Property is located in the city area, it is surrounded only by residential houses, and we have a spacious garden, allowing you to experience the "tranquility" that can only be felt in a Japanese-style Room. The meals we provide are not made with luxurious ingredients or elaborate recipes. We prepare homely dishes centered around fresh fish from Maizuru. Please enjoy the fresh fish of Maizuru. At the retreat behind Amanohashidate, one of Japan's three scenic views, we take pride in our warm hospitality and fresh seafood dishes delivered directly from the fishing port. Within the Amanohashidate Park, you can feel the history of Amanohashidate, cherished by literary figures, through the monument of poems by the couple Hiroshi and Akiko Yosano. From the Japanese-Western style rooms, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Amanohashidate, especially the scenery before sunset and early morning. Additionally, we offer a variety of dishes featuring snow crab.

The city of Nishi-Maizuru, located approximately 80km north of Kyoto city center, is a coastal town. As you stroll through this former castle town, you'll encounter retro and nostalgic scenery. Maizuru City, located 1.5 hours by train or car from Kyoto City. Just a 10-minute walk from Nishi-Maizuru Station. While situated in the city, it is tucked away from the main national road, offering a quiet and peaceful town atmosphere. We serve traditional Japanese kaiseki cuisine, featuring fresh fish from the Sea of Japan and Wakasa Bay. Maizuru is renowned for its delicious and fresh seafood. In spring, you can enjoy delicacies such as isaza, Tango torigai, and rock oysters, while in winter, the town is blessed with ingredients like Matsuba crab, yellowtail, oysters, and Spanish mackerel.Our Ryokan, established in 1902, is quite old but perfect for those who wish to relax on tatami mats. Unfortunately, Maizuru does not have Onsen, so our baths use heated water. Additionally, the baths are small, as they have remained unchanged since the Ryokan's founding in 1902.Our accommodation Plans mainly focus on seafood, but we also offer Plans that include Japanese wagyu beef.
