Ōwada Station (Shizuoka Prefecture) × Highly rated for dining at Hotel·Ryokan

I stayed for four nights on a business trip to Shimada City. The Facility showed its age, but it was well cleaned and I had a comfortable stay. The large public bath was also very relaxing and helped me unwind after each day. Breakfast was a daily rotating buffet, so I never got bored and enjoyed it every morning. I think this Hotel is ideal for business stays in Shimada City.

The breakfast is greatly appreciated. Refills are unlimited and they even have curry, so it saves you a meal (lol). It’s not one of those stingy, typical menus, which I really appreciate. If I had to mention one drawback, the room key card is made of paper and doesn’t respond well. I often had to insert and remove it several times before it would work, which was a bit of a hassle.

Close to the station and easy to find. The building shows its age, but the interior was nicely renovated. The curry for breakfast was excellent! The price is reasonable, and I think it's a great Hotel.

This was my second stay. Located north of Kakegawa, it’s a very quiet Accommodation where you can truly relax. The baths and meals are excellent. The guest Rooms vary depending on which Room you choose. It’s a small Accommodation with few guests, so you can take it easy. The proprietress and everyone else are very kind, and you can feel at home without any hesitation. It’s a Ryokan that makes you want to come back again.

Onsen: It was easy to reserve it for private use, and I went in many times. It leaves your skin feeling smoother. Meals: Absolutely delicious! I was so full that I couldn’t finish dinner—sorry. Facility: It’s old. The air conditioning wasn’t very effective. Some parts of the floor felt a bit sunken, and the toilet was Japanese-style (squat). There was no hairbrush provided. Overall, I highly recommend it. The staff are soothing and make you feel at ease. I’d like to stay again.

I stayed for one night on a weekday. Coincidentally, we were the only guests that day, which was nice, but the view stretching from the town below to the sea was breathtaking. The night view from the room was also stunning and thoroughly enjoyable. The hosts were pleasant, the food was delicious, and while the building itself is ordinary, it was impeccably clean with no complaints at all. Since it is located slightly away from highways and towns, I highly recommend it for those who want to enjoy sunrise or night views in tranquility.

We stayed as a couple. Many Accommodations today try to satisfy guests by having everything fully equipped, but this place isn’t about that. Instead, the landlady who handles everything on her own offers such thoughtful care, warm hospitality, and attentive service that it more than makes up for it—an Accommodation that left us truly satisfied. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed local sake as well. They prepared an irori hearth and even set up a brazier outside so we could enjoy stargazing, and they also provided hot-water bottles—unique pleasures different from the usual stay. An Accommodation that satisfies the eyes, ears, stomach, and heart; we’d love to visit again.

It was our first glamping experience. The dome tent was cool with the air conditioning on and very comfortable. The meat was delicious and there was plenty of it, so we were very satisfied. We also appreciated that the outdoor open-air bath had curtains and other measures to ensure privacy from outside view. Our whole family says we want to come again.

The room was very clean, likely because it had just been renovated! Since it was a tatami room, the comfort level was excellent! The amenities were simple, so I gave four stars, but the location is close to the station with a decent number of restaurants nearby, so I had no trouble at all!
