During the Edo Kaei era, a time accelerating towards the end of the Tokugawa shogunate, "Minato no Yado Teiya" welcomed travelers at Yaizu Bay, which opens to the sea following the Kuroshio Current. For over 150 years since then, we have devoted ourselves to the spirit of hospitality, incorporating the freshness of the winds blowing from the east, west, and beyond the sea into our long-established Property. The joy of a traditional inn lies in always striving to connect it to the satisfaction of our guests. With this wish in mind, we eagerly look forward to new encounters with our guests.

We renovated the Property in July 2022 with the themes of "Moon" and "Tuna," limited to 5 groups per day. In the full moon dining area with round windows that change with the twilight, enjoy the course meal of Japan's most delicious tuna, described as reaching its climax multiple times. Experience the extraordinary in the high-quality Yaizu Onsen and the simple yet sophisticated serene space, and we hope you take home many happy memories.
We have expanded our guest rooms and completely renovated our existing rooms, as well as the lobby, and restaurant. We also added a new Kids Park, renewing the property into an even more comfortable space. Yaizu is a fishing town home to Yaizu Port, one of Japan’s major bases for deep-sea fishing. Our Hotel is located on a hilltop, and from the top-floor panoramic large public bath you can enjoy sweeping views of Suruga Bay and the Yaizu cityscape. At night, you can also take in the sparkling city lights. “Yaizu Onsen,” ranked No. 1 in the Health & Sports category of the 2025 Onsen General Election, is a chloride spring containing about half the salinity of seawater. Its mildly alkaline water is gentle on the skin, highly moisturizing, and known for retaining warmth long after bathing. For dining, enjoy kaiseki cuisine featuring seasonal delicacies from both sea and mountains, including “Yaizu Southern Bluefin Tuna,” certified by the Shizuoka Food Selection program. Please use our Hotel as your base for exploring central Shizuoka attractions such as Nihondaira and Miho no Matsubara.

Fuji, Suruga Bay, and the Izu Peninsula from the open-air bath are simply breathtaking. Enjoy fresh seafood delivered from Yaizu Port and other leading ports in the prefecture.
Since ancient times, Japan has been home to a rich variety of "colors." It is through living amidst the vibrant hues of nature, such as flowers, the sea, and birds, that today's Japanese culture, admired worldwide, has been cultivated. We, too, wish to convey the charm of the colors that breathe life into Shizuoka and Mochimune, and pass them on to the next generation. With this aspiration, we have opened the traditional Japanese-style Hotel "日本色 NIHON IRO," offering a serene and tranquil retreat. Here, you will find a space uniquely yours, themed around the gentle colors of traditional Japan.
