Located within the grounds of the Jigen-in Temple, this Property is run by the temple's head priest's wife as the hostess and their daughter as the young hostess. Rather than operating as a traditional "shukubo" (temple lodging), this Property has a long history of welcoming guests from both Japan and abroad as a youth hostel, offering a familial and casual atmosphere that is its charm. Centered around the bright and energetic young hostess, the staff includes a variety of individuals such as surfers who deeply love the Izu sea and trainees from top international companies working for a few weeks. Conversations with these diverse staff members are sure to become an unforgettable part of your journey. At times, you may even see the staff's children appearing in the dining area, being affectionately greeted by regular guests with a "You've grown so much!"—a scene that evokes the warmth of staying at a relative's home. Except for some Rooms equipped with beds, futons are self-service. Meals are also partially self-service, so it may not suit those seeking fully catered services. However, the Property takes great care in hospitality, such as sourcing only pesticide-free vegetables and selecting Izu's specialty "kinmedai" (golden eye snapper) weighing over 1.2kg with rich flavor, ensuring guests' satisfaction. "Shioun" is a retro-modern Onsen Property with only 7 Rooms, located right in front of Kawazu Beach. As a sister Property to "Narashinonosato Gyokusui" and "Omuro no Mori Gyokusui," it was newly renovated and reopened in September 2022. All Rooms are equipped with ocean-view open-air baths, and we have maintained the tradition of Onsen water directly sourced from the spring and temperature control by our dedicated Onsen caretaker, a commitment upheld since the founding of Gyokusui over a century ago. For dinner, we offer Japanese kaiseki cuisine that delights both the eyes and the palate. For breakfast, we prepare Western-style dishes using seasonal ingredients from Izu. To fully enjoy our location, just a 0-minute walk to the beach, we provide "beach walking gear" for our guests.

A chef with experience as a head chef at a Hotel creates innovative Japanese cuisine that is visually stunning, utilizing the abundant mountain and sea delicacies of Izu. Enjoy it together with the natural Onsen. The rock bath (Onsen) is available for private use. The surrounding area features the Amagi mountains, suitable for light walks or serious trekking. From February to early April, Kawazu cherry blossoms and other sakura bloom in the vicinity, and you can view the blossoms from within the premises. From some Rooms, you can see the cherry blossoms through the windows.
