The name “Homachi” comes from “homachi” (waiting for favorable winds), a term that also evokes the “reward” enjoyed in the era of Kitamaebune ships. The architecture features local kagura-style construction and preserves Edo-period pillars, beams, and Shakudani stone. Dining is created by Michelin-starred French chef Ken Yoshino, who crafts an original menu showcasing Fukui’s world-class ingredients such as Echizen crab—also presented to the Imperial Household—rare seafood varieties, and Wakasa beef.
