"Sorachi" is a small luxury Kanazawa Machiya available for exclusive rental, located in Kazue-machi Chaya District, one of Kanazawa's three famous teahouse districts. From the guest rooms, you can enjoy views of the Asano River lined with cherry blossoms, the gas lamps evoking Taisho-era romance, and the registered tangible cultural property Asanogawa Ohashi Bridge. Walking through alleys lined with stone walls and lattice-doored townhouses feels like stepping into a movie scene. While maintaining its traditional exterior built in the Meiji era, the interior features a modern design incorporating diverse elements. As Rosanjin remarked, "He did not use tea as an ornament for himself nor as a business," reflecting the heartfelt and unpretentious hospitality that was the philosophy of Yamanoo. After the war, adapting to changes in lifestyle, "Yamanoo" was reborn as "Kanazawa Yamanoo." The current owner, Tatsuya Motoya, is the fifth generation since Tadayoshi. While time has passed and the name has changed, the spirit of hospitality, "one guest, one pavilion," has been faithfully carried on since its founding.
